I Got Isekai’d, Well Shyt!
Vol.5 Ch293 Rya Discovers Her New Ability
Rya went through the last of the children. After everything was said and done, out of the 103 children that were there, 37 of them had Master Veins or better, while out of those 37, 13 had Mage Veins.
'Well, I wasn't expecting this. From what Nils told me about the percentages, this group beat the odds... Alright time to soften the blow for the Common kids.'
Rya looked at the large group of downtrodden kids.
She sighed, "I know that some of you are disappointed, but just because you weren't born with a strong mana vein doesn't mean you're worthless or that your future is doomed. There are plenty of professions you can do that will let you live a decent life. And that is to help you learn with a higher education, and get jobs or apprenticeships in the different fields. If any of you are interested, we will bring you on to the first Royal School. Where you will have the chance to learn the different fields, and then choose a job. We will also pay for your food and board," she said while looking at all the children.
The children's eyes widened as they heard her offer.
Some were shocked, while others were hopeful.
"Wait, why would you do this?" Father Simeon asked, "And how will you afford to feed them all?"
"I have the funds and my fiance wanted to start a school, so this will be a good investment for the future of Fiafyr," Rya said with a smile.
The cleric and priestesses were surprised by this and wondered if the prince proposed to her or if he was just trying to convince her to marry him.
Quinus walked up to Rya and whispered in her ear, "Really, babe, you don't have to front the money when the Major Lords should approve the funding."
"Quin... Let's just say that your Uncle is financing the school as a wedding gift to us. Besides, if my feminine hygiene product idea sells, we'll have the funds to build more schools. It was sort of my thing to help businesses grow and prosper," she smiled.
Quinus blushed a bit as he realized how clever she was and how much of a dolt he was when it came to business.
He sighed and said, "I trust that you know what you are doing. Just know I'm here for you," he smiled.
She turned around and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
"Alright, so do kids want to be the first class at the first Royal School of Fiafyr? Or do you want to keep your status as commoners?" Rya asked.
All the children nodded and said, "We want to go to school."
Rya nodded and clapped her hands, "Good. Now let's address you guys."
Rya and Quinus walked over to the right side of the hall to where Sid and the other 23 children were.
Rya pulled out her Seer Stone once again and scanned all the kids' mana veins so she could organize them by Level. She moved 16 of the kids in one group, 9 in another, and Sid was by himself.
"Alright, so you lot already know that you have higher level Mana Vein so I'll cut to the chase all of you are Majas," Rya stated.
Sid and the other 23 children were trying to comprehend what just happened to all of them. They never thought they would get to be Majas.
"But some of you will have to work harder than the others to grow your mana veins. And if you can't learn to harness and control your mana, you'll never make it. So, if any of you wish to leave this group to join your friends you my do so now," Rya stated.
The Maja children looked at each other and none of them moved. Rya smiled and looked at Sir Richard and his Knights.
"Sir Richard, this group of sixteen have Master level veins, and this group of nine have Grand Master Mana Veins, and this one," Rya walked up to Sid who was still in shock, "This young man has a Demi-God Mana Vein..."
Everyone mummered in awe and Sid was the center of attention for the moment.
Sid thought his hearing was wrong. He had a Demi-God level mana vein?! How was this possible?
He looked up at Rya once more and asked, "How is this possible? I was a commoner before, and I never thought I'd ever have the chance to become an adventurer."
Rya walked up and placed her hand on Sid's shoulder, "What can I say. You're a lucky kid. But don't let it go to your head, Sid... And I'm expecting great things from you," Rya gave him a wink.
Sid was in a daze and he looked across the room at Mary who seemed more excited for him than he was. Then he looked at Elaine who was happy for him but she was glaring at Rya when she saw her giving him a wink.
'S-So that's her plan! She's making a slave harem of strong men to do her bidding! I can't let Sid get wrapped up in her clutches!' Elaine thought.
Sid then turned his attention back to the beautiful dark elf and asked, "When can we start our training?"
Rya chuckled, "Ask Sir Richard or Lady Rachel. They will assign you a teacher... But I'll be watching you, Sid."
Sid nodded his head at his angle, which only made Elaine more frustrated.
Elaine wanted to grab Sid and pull him away from her. But she didn't have the courage or confidence to stand up to the woman who she thought could make her into a monster in an instant.
Rya turned on her heels and walked over to the other side where 12 young mages were eagerly waiting to hear want Rya was going to say while the 13th mage was standing next to Nieren.
Rya took a look at each one of them and said, "I'm assuming that you kids understand what you are?"
They all nodded and the young girl spoke up, "Yes, Lady Rya. We're Mages."
Rya smiled and nodded, "Correct. Now let me organize you all by your Mana Vein class. So, go where I tell you, please."
The children agreed enthusiastically while Fennic who was impressed that Rya has an artifact that can see what everyone's mana vein is but he's never seen this before and he wished to make sure that these children were mages. He walked up to Rya as she was going through one by one of the final 12 children and when she grabbed one kid to move him to the left she noticed that the kid's mage veins lit up when she made contact with his skin.
'Huh? Is my mana charger this kid's mage veins?... Holy shit! I am charging his Mage Veins. It's the same with her's too!' Rya thought as she was shocked to know that her mana was channeling into the children's body by mistake. 'I wonder if I can make someone else cast a spell?'
While Rya was contemplating about what was going on with this strange ability that she now had. Fennic walked up to her and asked, "Lady Rya... I'm sure that you are speaking the truth about these candidates, but I've never seen such an artifact. How do you know that these children have magic in them? Could they be mistaken?"
Rya was surprised that Fennic questioned her but she was understanding that a Master Mage like Fennic had probably seen it all, but her device wasn't something that would be a trick. Rya guided the last child to a group of three kids before she turned to Fennic, "Well, these children are mages, Grand Master. But you do you need to see that these children are real Mages?"
Fennic glanced over at Balthazar, then Saffron looking for ideas.
"We can see if these children can interact with are low level incantations," Saffron said, with a small smile.
Fennic shook his head, "But these children haven't grown their Mana Veins to a point where they could channel their Mana into a incantation."
Rya thought for a moment and she looked at the children. 'Hm, I guess I can try to force them to cast a spell with my mana. I just hope it won't hurt them.'
Rya walked over to the larger group of mages that had Master Level Mana Veins. There was seven of them and she looked through her Seer Stone and lightly grabbed this seven year old boy's right wrist and rotated his palm up.
"How about I let these children use my mana to cast a spell, then you'll see for yourselves. Okay?" Rya said, with a confident tone.
The other mages were shocked by what she had said and Fennic walked closer and asked, "How are you able to do that, Lady Rya?"
"I'm that special," Rya said with a wink. "Tell me if you feel any unpleasantness and keep calm while I do this."
Fennic was about to say something when Rya closed her eyes and started forcing her mana into the little boy. It wasn't a painful process, frankly it sent a shiver down the boy's spine as he felt something flowing out towards his hand and before he could say anything a word popped into his head, "W-Waterball?"
The child was confused, but his confusion quickly disappeared when he felt the mana coming out of his palm and a small orb of water was hovering in front of his hand.
Everyone gasped as they watched the waterball float above the child's palm.
"Woah..." the kid whispered, mesmerized by the floating water.
Rya was surprised how easily the boy was able to cast a spell. And when she let go of his wrist the waterball started to shrink as Rya's mana was cut off.
The child was still mesmerized by the water and everyone else was shocked to see the boy moving his hand around as the waterball followed until it disappeared within 5 seconds.
Fennic mouth was agaped at what he saw and after a moment he finally got his words out.
"How is this possible?"
Hajdah just cracked a smile, "Because she's the Saintess and the First Mage... When I think she's done surprising us. She does something like this."
Hajdah and the other mages walked over to the rest of the children candidates and watched as Rya went through the next six, "So, these seven children have Master level Mana Veins and we have another water mage, two fire mages, one earth mage, and three wind mages."
Rya went one by one channeling her mana into them, and each kid showed their affinities in front of the Guild.
"By the Goddess... How many candidates have we overlooked..." Fennic muttered under his breath as Rya showed off the Grand Master Mana Vein children and there was two earth mages, a fire mage, and a another water mage.
Mary was struggling to hide her excitement. Is was like she was in one of her fairytales and she was living her dream. She couldn't believe she was witnessing something so magical.
Rya walked up to Mary who had stary eyes.
"And we have are last one. She has a—"
"DEMI-GOD MANA VEIN!?!" Mary shouted in shock.
Rya slowly looked at the girl who had blurted out what she thought the dark elf was going to say.
'Wow... She's a lot more excited than I first thought... Well, I don't blame her for thinking she has a demi-god level mana vein...' Rya thought as she looked at the girl's face.
Rya shook her head and cracked a toothy grin, "No, you have an Elite Level Mana Vein."
Mary's face instantly deflated and everyone looked at her with a deadpan expression.
"Oh..." Mary muttered.
Rya patted Mary's head, "Really? You're acting like you have a Common Level Mana Vein. It's still pretty rare, and there's only been a few people with Elite Level mana veins."
"But... I thought I was going to be special... Like Sid. How I'm going to help him if I'm going to hold him back," Mary pouted.
'Huh... I guess she wants to go adventuring with her friend. I was worried that she was going to become selfish there. Well, I'll keep a close eye on her,' Rya thought.
Rya smiled at the young girl, "You should be able to keep pace with, Sid. But you'll have to slay a little more to grow your mana vein to the same amount as his. And that shouldn't be too hard when you can..."
Rya took hold of both of Mary's hands and held them palms up. Mary shivered as Rya's mana entered her first mage veins was activated.
'What is this feeling? I-I sense something is coming out! It needs to come out!' Mary's instincts told her what to say to release the mana coursing through her mage vein.
"Waterball!"
A large water ball formed over her palms and floated there Mary was breathing hard and she had a big grin on her face. She was going to say something when she felt another shiver running through her body as her second mage vein was getting activated.
'A-Again!? It feels so shocking! I-I think it wants me to use magic again! It's tingling and I can't help but want to release my mana again!'
"Lightning spark!"
Mary's second mage vein was activated and she was now breathing harder. The large water ball floating over her right palm and her new lightning magic was crackling in the air above her left palm.
Rya smiled at Mary, "You're a multi elemental mage, kid. Do you still think that you aren't special?"
Mary's eyes widened and she was speechless. She was too stunned to do anything else. She couldn't believe that she was a multi elemental mage.
'A Multi-elemental mage... AND I CAN USE LIGHTNING LIKE LADY AGATHA IN THE NOVELS THAT I READ! THIS IS AMAZING!' Mary was cheering in her mind.
Rya let go of Mary's hands and the spells were cancelled, "Alright kid, you're going to have a lot of training ahead of you. If you can't find a good instructor on Lightning magic then come to me and I'll teach you."
Mary had tears forming in her eyes, and she nodded her head at Rya.
"Thank you so much, Ma'am!"
Rya's cheeks went a bit pink and she waved off Mary's words. "I didn't do anything but show you what you already had inside of you."
"But I—we wouldn't have known without you. So please take my words, Ma'am." Mary spoke in a respectful tone and gave Rya a deep bow.
Rya was speechless at the sudden show of respect, but she smiled warmly, "Fine... I'll take your compliments. But stop bowing like that. It makes me uncomfortable."
