I Have a Date with a Thousand-year-old Female Corpse
Chapter 1320: Storm is Coming (Part 2)
Chapter 1320: Chapter 1320: Storm is Coming (Part 2)When you get to this point, your brows suddenly knit together tightly. You begin to reflect on what just happened at the exit. You were absolutely sure you felt a spatial anomaly—within an instant, you had crossed over a distance of more than a thousand meters. What kind of speed is that? No, this isn’t speed. You are certain this must be what’s called spatial movement!
"Ah, right, didn’t Lawyer Bangde just say he went to rescue you? Did you see him?"
"I did see him, but he doesn’t know I’ve already returned. He’s probably still busy with that group of cops." You chuckle, "That guy definitely has some serious connections backing him."
Pang Qin immediately dials the phone. You hear Bangde’s anxious voice on the other end: "Little Qin, has he come back yet?"
"He’s already back."
"Who are you talking to?" you ask. "A friend? Or one of your classmates?"
You hear a woman’s voice talking on the other side of the call, but you don’t pay it much mind. Instead, you down another large glass of water.
"Qin’er, I’m going to take a shower." You turn and head into the bathroom. While there, you try hard to recall the events from earlier. Deep down, you know that if you can grasp this concept, you might just be able to gain the same spatial movement ability as mages in games.
"Mu Yun, get out here!" Not even half an hour later, Bangde shouts from outside the bathroom. His deep and booming voice startles you out of your contemplation.
"What’s going on?" Sёarch* The novel(F~)ire.net website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
You leap up in a hurry, grabbing a towel to wrap around yourself. With an urgent expression, you walk out and ask, "What is it? Are there still remnants of those people hanging around?"
"You..." Bangde looks at your simple getup and barks, "Go back and put on some clothes!"
"Huh?" Watching Bangde storm off in a huff, you glance in confusion at Pang Qin, who’s standing to the side, stifling her laughter. "What did I do wrong?"
"You really are such a blockhead." Pang Qin giggles again at this, a high-pitched and playful sound.
"What’s the deal with me, huh?" And then, just as you’re speaking, the towel around you suddenly slips. What follows is an ear-piercing scream from Pang Qin.
"What’s wrong now!" Bangde storms back in, his face filled with tension. But as soon as he catches sight of... a certain part of you swaying below, he lets out a startled scream of his own and bolts back out.
A few seconds later, his roars erupt from outside: "Mu Yun! Get your ass out here!"
Still clueless, you walk out again. "I mean, what are you so mad about? I didn’t offend you."
Meanwhile, a thought flickers in your mind: "Why is a grown man acting all flustered like that? Could it be... does he have a taste for Longyang? A penchant for the ’cut sleeve’ lifestyle?"
"You..." Bangde seems to want to say something but ultimately lets out a heavy sigh instead. "Forget it, I won’t say anything. There’s no point talking to someone like you."
You don’t take offense, opting instead to stare seriously at Bangde and ask, "What’s the current status of the Tensho Society remnants?"
"They’ve been wiped out. The military already had undercover agents infiltrating their ranks. When you destroyed their stockpile of weapons, it was both a commendable and risky move. Thankfully, you deactivated the nuclear launch device beforehand, or the entire Zhonghua Star would’ve been obliterated." Bangde’s usually stoic face finally creaks into the faintest of expressions. "But your actions have completely disrupted the delicate relationship between Zhonghua Star and the Milky Way Alliance. The Alliance has repeatedly asked Mr. President to join them, but he refused every time. Now, due to your stunt, you’ve drawn the Alliance’s attention. They’ll find all sorts of excuses to get involved in our affairs. My guess? Within three months, they’ll send negotiators—or maybe even troops."
"Why? Isn’t the Singapore nation of Zhonghua Star a neutral state? What grounds do they have to force us into compliance?"
"You don’t get it. Zhonghua Star lies within the Milky Way Alliance’s jurisdiction, and they’re extremely eager to get their hands on our technological products. This time, they’re determined to make it happen. Mr. President has already issued a relocation order; he intends to evacuate the population to other planets before the Alliance arrives, to keep them out of harm’s way."
Your eyes flash with determination. "So what you’re saying is, the Milky Way Alliance is gearing up to invade Zhonghua Star?"
Bangde nods. "That’s the grim reality."
You fall into deep thought, then lift your head to ask, "How well do you understand Zhonghua Star’s military capacity?"
"I only know the general numbers."
"What are our chances?"
"Less than thirty percent. If they deploy two fleets, Zhonghua Star won’t hold out for more than fifteen days."
"Goddammit!" You punch the wall with a fierce blow.
"Don’t be too hard on yourself. Honestly, their plans to attack Zhonghua Star were inevitable. Mr. President has already started making plans to evacuate the population. Within a few days, most civilians should be safely relocated."
"And what about the soldiers?" You sneer. "Are they not people too? Are we just going to sit back and watch them die under enemy fire?"
"Mu Yun, I understand how you feel, but this is war. It’s beyond our control. I’ve already made arrangements—tomorrow, you and Pang Qin will leave Zhonghua Star for Score Colonization Star."
"I refuse," you state firmly. "I’m staying to fight."
"No way." Bangde’s tone is adamant. "I know you have skills, but you need to consider Pang Qin."
Your voice remains unyielding. "That’s why I want you to take Qin’er to Score first. Once I’ve pushed the enemy back, I’ll join you immediately."
"Mu Yun, don’t you get it? Stop acting like a spoiled kid!" Bangde’s frustration is evident.
"I have my own plan. I don’t need your lectures." Your demeanor hardens. "I’ve made up my mind and won’t change it."
"You..."
You turn and head back inside. Pang Qin, who has been listening to your and Bangde’s exchange from the sidelines, says nothing. Though she doesn’t want you to take risks, she understands your resolve.
Seeing you approach, she smiles faintly. "Don’t worry, I’ll take care of myself. But Brother Mu Yun, make sure you come back soon."
"I will," you pledge with a nod of determination.
With Pang Qin’s reassurance, Bangde is left with nothing more to add, though his concern lingers visibly in his expression.
"Brother Mu Yun, what about her?" Pang Qin motions to the woman still lying motionless on the sofa.
"Hmph, I should’ve just left her on the roadside back then," you grumble, slapping your forehead in self-reproach. "Why didn’t I just dump her in the forest? I had to carry her for so long—what a waste of energy."
Pang Qin laughs at this. "You already brought her here, so what’s the point of complaining now?"
"Yeah, yeah, I know. But seriously, ugh, forget it. The easiest solution is to drop her off at the hospital and then wash our hands of it."
"But..."
