I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 240: The One Closest to His Heart
CHAPTER 240: CHAPTER 240: THE ONE CLOSEST TO HIS HEART
After Landon Lawson sent Sienna Quinn back home, he called Nolan Shaw with a dark expression.
"How is the person?"
"He’s been brought over. Do you want to come?"
"Of course!" His woman was drugged. How could Landon Lawson let it slide?
Driving to the police station, Landon Lawson got out of the car with a cold expression.
As soon as he opened the door, he saw a fat middle-aged man trembling uncontrollably, greasy from head to toe, as if coated with a layer of lard.
"President Lawson..."
The man stammered, calling out to Landon Lawson, but when he saw those terrifying eyes, he swallowed all the words he wanted to say.
Standing aside, Nolan Shaw addressed Landon Lawson, "President Lawson, this person was brought in last night. We just learned from the police that he has confessed everything. So, what should we do now?"
Nolan Shaw appeared to be asking Landon Lawson, but he already had a vague idea in his mind. Who was Sienna Quinn? Evan Quinn’s mommy, Landon Lawson’s wife!
She was even the woman he cherished the most.
"Handle it impartially and sternly. There will be no reconciliation in this matter." The man’s voice was exceptionally cold, freezing enough to instill fear.
Nolan Shaw shivered, realizing Landon Lawson was not a man who showed mercy. He had anticipated Landon Lawson’s fury, but did not expect him to be so unyielding.
But upon reflection, it was only natural. There were very few people whom Landon Lawson had in his heart, and now Sienna Quinn surely ranked first.
The middle-aged man heard their conversation clearly and shivered violently. If he weren’t handcuffed and restrained by the police, he would have rushed forward to kneel before Landon Lawson. If this matter wasn’t resolved properly, he’d be stuck here for life.
"Don’t move!" The police officer behind him held him down, preventing any free movement.
Regret filled the middle-aged man’s eyes, "President Lawson, I truly realize my mistakes, I beg you to let me go, I won’t commit the same offense again. It was Clara Quinn and the Quinn Family who asked me to help and take indecent photos of Sienna Quinn. The plan was that after Sienna Quinn was toppled, I’d receive huge benefits. The real mastermind behind all this is the Quinn Family."
Landon Lawson’s eyes showed no emotion. He had known from the start that Clara Quinn orchestrated this, and it was indeed the Quinn Family’s resistance against Sienna Quinn.
After all, it’s been some time since the incident began, and the Quinn Family had been besieged from all sides, facing pressure not only from the Yates Group but also from Lawson Group.
With Felix Orwell’s true identity exposed, the Quinn Family understood that there was powerful support behind Sienna Quinn, not someone easy to deal with.
The Quinn Group was under attack from all sides, and with Lawson Group’s deadline looming, if the Quinn Family couldn’t deliver, it truly was on the brink of collapse.
It seemed the Quinn Family couldn’t hold back any longer, resorting to such underhanded tactics against Sienna Quinn. Didn’t they consider that she was Landon Lawson’s wife?
The man’s fists clenched tightly by his side, his face grim and terrifying.
Squeak!
Squeak!
The middle-aged man, previously pleading, heard the crisp sound of a fist clenching, and he trembled, shrinking back for fear of provoking Landon Lawson, who might utterly destroy him.
At the Quinn Family’s old residence, Old Mrs. Quinn sat on the sofa, eyes closed and expressionless, as if in deep meditation.
Beside her, Tom Quinn was filled with anxiety. Watching Old Mrs. Quinn’s calmness, his face twitched unnervingly. "Mom, please think of a solution; if this continues, the Quinn Group will face serious issues."
Tom Quinn knew that Old Mrs. Quinn cared most about the Quinn Group and she absolutely wouldn’t stand by and watch as the company fell into trouble.
Old Mrs. Quinn opened her eyes, filled with infinite coldness, "Now you recognize your mistake and come to me, but what were you thinking before? When such significant issues arose in the Quinn Group, you still failed to inform me? Do you even see me as your mother?"
Tom Quinn’s face flushed with embarrassment and anger from being scolded by Old Mrs. Quinn, unable to utter a word, knowing she was the only one who could save the Quinn Family now.
And the only one who could persuade Sienna Quinn to relent.
"Mom, you’re really our only hope now. If the company can overcome this crisis, you can punish me however you like. I won’t have any complaints."
Old Mrs. Quinn’s face darkened, her eyes indifferent with a hint of coldness.
"Punish you? If punishment was effective, what need is there for the police?" She had just learned about all the recent events in the Quinn Group, previously believing Tom Quinn managed the company efficiently. But now, seeing the situation for what it truly was, how could Tom Quinn explain himself?
"Mom, it’s truly a life-and-death moment now."
Old Mrs. Quinn pursed her lips. Tom Quinn was not wrong; both companies had turned against the Quinn Family, and Clara Quinn, that foolish ally, had made things worse. Now the man involved was at the police station.
Given Landon Lawson’s capabilities, Old Mrs. Quinn couldn’t believe the man would withstand Landon Lawson’s pressure.
"Go find Sienna Quinn. She’s the only one who can save the Quinn Family now." Old Mrs. Quinn said coldly.
Tom Quinn was taken aback, shaking his head repeatedly, "Sienna Quinn, that ingrate, won’t show mercy to the company. She hopes for its bankruptcy more than anyone right now."
All of this was orchestrated by Sienna Quinn; if it weren’t for her, the situation wouldn’t have deteriorated like this.
Bang!
The cane struck the ground forcefully, startling Tom Quinn and causing him to step back, watching the old lady stand up shakily with fear and retreating further.
Old Mrs. Quinn saw her second son’s cowardice and snorted, "You’re truly useless—spineless at home, unable to handle even the company’s affairs. What capability do you have? If you had a third of your brother’s ability, I wouldn’t have to worry so much."
Without another word, Old Mrs. Quinn turned and walked out.
Tom Quinn stood stupidly, staring at the floor with a dark face.
Always scolding him!
Since childhood, deemed worthless, always overshadowed by his outstanding brother, living in his shadow, Tom Quinn now clenched his fist tightly on his clothes.
Why must he remain overshadowed by a person who was already dead? Can he never escape his shadow?
"Brother, brother, always the brother. In your eyes, I never mattered. If I hadn’t snatched this position myself, it never would have belonged to me."
