I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 253: This Way Is Pretty Good Too
CHAPTER 253: CHAPTER 253: THIS WAY IS PRETTY GOOD TOO
"Chloe, my daddy wants to invite you and Aunt Sienna for dinner tonight," Chloe said with a bright smile, her cheeks rosy as she sat across from Evan Quinn.
Evan put down the book he was holding, hesitated for a moment, and said, "I need to ask Mommy."
"Okay!"
She flashed a row of white teeth, her beautiful eyes curved into a charming arc.
Evan took out his small phone, sent a text to Sienna, and soon received a reply from her.
"My mommy said it’s okay for the evening."
"Great!" Chloe jumped up excitedly.
Evan muttered softly, "So easily excited, women are really troublesome!" Despite his words, his chubby little hand reached out to shield Chloe from the edge of the table, afraid she might accidentally bump into it.
After a burst of excitement, Chloe settled down, her cheeks flushed, looking incredibly adorable with a hint of mischief in her clear, bright eyes.
In the evening, Sienna appeared at the kindergarten gate, but Todd Lowell surprisingly didn’t come to pick up Chloe today. Instead, he sent Sienna the location, telling her to bring the two kids directly to his house.
Driving, Sienna glanced at the two kids in the back seat, "Chloe, why did your dad suddenly want to invite us for dinner?"
"Daddy said it’s mainly to thank Evan and you. When Nate was bullying me, Evan helped me, and you were also bullied by their family, so daddy always wanted to express his gratitude."
Despite her young age, Chloe’s toddling voice had a maturity that seemed beyond her years.
"It’s something I should do. I’m a little man; when I see a man bullying a woman, of course, I have to stand up," Evan pouted. Such a thing, does it really deserve special thanks?
Watching the two young children in the rearview mirror, Sienna suddenly had a daring thought that if she could have another little girl, her life would be perfect.
But the thought quickly flashed by. Who would it be with?
Landon Lawson?
Thinking of that man filled her with anger.
He claimed to love her, yet went behind her back to see Vera Yates. Whenever that woman shed a few tears, Landon would help her dispel those rumors.
Even after telling Landon that she died in the past life because of Vera, he still chose her in the end.
Even Sienna didn’t realize that when she thought about having another little girl, her first instinct was to have one with Landon.
The three of them arrived at the address Todd had sent, and Chloe led them to the entrance.
Todd opened the door and, seeing Sienna standing there, shyly wiped the oil stains on his hands on his apron.
"You cook personally?" Sienna was surprised, not expecting Todd to be the type of man who cooks at home, given he dominates the courtroom yet shows such a gentle side.
Since his wife’s passing, Todd hadn’t interacted with women outside of work.
"Just trying my hand," he said self-deprecatingly.
"Uncle Todd is really impressive. When I was in France with Mommy, we had to eat fast food every day," Evan said, pouting as he eagerly spilled the beans about Sienna as soon as they met.
Sienna’s face turned red and green. Is this really her son? Not an ounce of face left...
"Haven’t you grown up just fine on fast food?"
"Yes, yes, yes. I can’t be bothered to argue with you women," Evan huffed, turning his head away from Sienna.
Todd ushered the three inside. As soon as Sienna walked in, she smelled the delightful aromas and, looking at the table full of food, asked in surprise, "You made all this?"
"Just a humble attempt," Todd said, scratching his head shyly. It was the first time besides his late wife that a woman had praised him, and he was unexpectedly bashful.
The four of them sat around a table, like a family.
But this feeling, Evan didn’t like; he secretly disliked being treated like family and fidgeted awkwardly.
Sienna looked at him curiously, "Are you uncomfortable?"
"Not uncomfortable," Evan sat up properly, always feeling that Uncle Todd looked at Mommy strangely, keeping a cautious eye on him.
If he dared have any impure thoughts, he’d definitely tell Daddy.
Despite his little stature, Evan knew more than one would expect.
The four of them happily chatted while eating, and so far, Evan hadn’t noticed anything abnormal.
Todd hesitated for a moment before asking, "Miss Quinn, do you want to continue with that lawsuit from last time? If you want to continue, I’ll do my best to help you."
Evan paused in his chopstick holding—lawsuit? What lawsuit? Why didn’t he know? Could Mommy be hiding something from him?
With a slightly displeased expression, he muttered with his lips pouted, even the delicious food couldn’t capture his attention anymore.
Sienna’s hand also paused. She naturally knew Todd was referring to the divorce case with Landon.
A month ago, Sienna would have been determined to sever ties with that man, but now... she was starting to avoid the issue.
Currently, Sienna and Landon got along respectfully, with no inappropriate behavior. Maybe this situation wasn’t so bad; at least it kept those outside suitors at bay, and Evan could be with Landon.
Now Sienna just wanted to focus on Evan’s life, realizing she owed this child so much.
Turning to look at his puffy little face, Sienna couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to ruffle Evan’s hair vigorously, messing it up.
"No need, things are good as they are now. As long as Evan is happy, anything is okay with me."
Looking at her beautiful little face, Todd’s heart skipped a beat, a hint of disappointment flashing in his eyes. It seemed Sienna no longer wanted a divorce, perhaps even wanted to stay with Landon.
This suspicion startled Todd, as he secretly observed Sienna, her makeup-free face exuding rare purity; the softness in her eyes was overflowing. She would undoubtedly be a wonderful mommy.
Landon Lawson...
That man... was indeed outstanding.
Always prideful, even Todd had to admit, Landon was indeed an exceptional man, perhaps the only one worthy of Sienna. Yet Todd couldn’t understand, since they had such an adorable little child, and Sienna was so exceptional.
Why had they been separated for five years?
The last time he saw Landon, from a man’s standpoint, he could tell Landon cared deeply about Sienna and her son. If he cared so much, why did he allow his wife and son to leave five years ago?
Or did he do something to hurt Sienna?
Todd wasn’t very familiar with those entertainment industry gossips, and usually, the cases he handled were civil, with seldom any involvement in entertainment circle lawsuits.
