CHAPTER 300: CHAPTER 300: A WARM FAMILY

"Alright, I’ll head over now."

"Dad, please be safe!"

After hanging up the phone, Landon Lawson grabbed his car keys, drove out of the villa, and headed towards Sienna Quinn’s location with the roar of the wind.

"Knock, knock, knock."

The sound of knocking echoed, and Sienna inside was puzzled about who could be visiting so late. As she hesitated, Evan opened the door first, and upon seeing the person outside, Sienna’s heart welled up with an indescribable feeling.

The feeling was bittersweet and a little sweet too, yet her mouth was sharp as she said, "Oh my, where did this big CEO come from? How do you have time to visit my humble little place? My temple is small, and I can’t serve such a great Buddha like you. Please find another place to go!"

After this commentary, Landon’s face turned into a palette of colors—red, then green, finally settling on red. Just as he was about to speak, Evan chimed in, "Mommy, I was the one who called Daddy to come over. Please don’t blame him, okay? It’s my fault."

As he spoke, those shiny big eyes welled up with tears, looking ever so pitiful. Seeing this, Sienna’s heart broke, and she rushed to comfort Evan, completely ignoring Landon, who had naturally changed his shoes and seated himself on the sofa.

After comforting Evan, Sienna saw Landon sitting on the sofa like he owned the place, her anger rising. Just then, the father and son exchanged a victorious glance, their expressions identical, their lips curling upwards in unison. Of course, this went unnoticed by Sienna.

Despite Landon’s shameless insistence on staying, he spent the night at Sienna’s place. Evan sleepily wandered over, saying he wanted both mom and dad to give him a bath. Since childhood until now, he had never experienced the warmth of a father bathing him.

Instantly, Sienna felt incredibly guilty for not providing her son with a complete childhood and full love. She felt remorseful, turning her gaze towards Landon with a pleading look. Landon was heartbroken for his son but was even more moved by Sienna’s gaze. He immediately stood up, picked up Evan, and asked where the bathroom was, while Sienna dumbly pointed in a direction. Landon walked towards it, reminding Sienna to snap back to reality as he went.

In the warm atmosphere shared by the three of them, the bath was filled with joy. Watching the father and son’s joyful smiles infected Sienna too, and she began to smile. This might have been her happiest and most satisfying smile in recent times.

Landon, seeing this smile, couldn’t help but feel drawn in, his heart wanting to steal a kiss. He swiftly acted on this thought, which startled Sienna, who responded with a big eye roll.

Amidst happiness and joy, the bath was finished, and Evan found a sense of happiness he had never experienced before.

Landon carried him back to bed, telling him stories to lull him to sleep. Soon, Evan fell asleep, dreaming sweetly, with a smile of happiness.

Tonight, he was sure to have a wonderful dream. Watching Evan’s blissful sleeping face, Landon felt a sense of pride surge within him and smiled.

Just then, Sienna walked in, witnessing the scene, feeling reluctant to disturb it. But it was late, and Landon was due to sleep as well. She walked behind Landon, giving him a gentle pat and softly called him to leave, breaking him out of the serene atmosphere. Landon followed Sienna out.

They each walked towards separate rooms—endless thoughts of giving their son a bath occupying their minds, rendering them sleepless.

The following morning, at precisely seven, Landon woke up, stepping out of the room only to be greeted by the smell of food. In a moment of daze, he felt a sense of home, warmth flooding his chest—something he’d never felt before—a warmth filling him from within. Seeing Landon standing there dazed, Sienna called out to him to wash up, snapping him out of his daze. He headed to the bathroom, waking Evan along the way.

Father and son stood at the sink, washing faces and brushing teeth together, basking in a sea of happiness.

After brushing their teeth, they held hands, walking to the dinner table together. Upon sitting down, they observed the hearty breakfast: fried eggs, sausages, toast slices, and a glass of pure milk.

When they saw the milk, both wore identical expressions of disdain. Seeing their expressions, Sienna felt a wave of amusement, instantly putting on a stern face, ordering them to finish the milk. The duo reluctantly drank it like medicine, quickly shoving a slice of toast into their mouths thereafter.

The three of them shared a hearty breakfast, laughter and cheer pervading the air. After the meal, Landon drove off to the company, dropping Evan at kindergarten along the way.

At home, after dressing up, Sienna set off for the company too. She suddenly thought this kind of life was quite good. But for now, it wasn’t feasible—she still had unfinished business to attend to, reluctant to speak of happiness.

After forcefully suppressing such feelings, she also arrived at the company. Stepping inside, she resumed her ice queen demeanor.

While working, Landon constantly found his mind wandering. Even when Nolan Shaw stood beside him, he didn’t notice, his thoughts lingering on the wonderful moments from the night before and that morning, flashing throughout his mind, impossible to forget.

"President!"

Nolan Shaw said.

"Here is the meeting agenda for today, please have a look."

"Okay,"

Landon replied, and as he spoke, his demeanor transformed—cold, aloof, unapproachable. This was likely his business persona. And so, he began his workday.

The days went by, one after another, and soon, three days had passed.

On this day, Landon arrived at the company early, as did Nolan Shaw, who handed Landon a stack of documents.

"President, these are the materials I’ve gathered over the past three days."

"Alright."

After this brief exchange, silence fell over the room as Landon carefully reviewed the documents, flipping through until the very end. No information about his father was found.

It turned out to be a company intending to form an alliance with his father.

To ingratiate themselves, they had undermined his company’s competitor, leading to Axel Yates’ father’s death, with no actual connection to the Lawson Family. So, Axel Yates had misunderstood. Upon learning this truth, Landon felt a significant burden lifted.

Landon grabbed his car keys and headed to Axel Yates’ company, using the CEO-exclusive elevator to reach Axel’s office, sitting in Axel’s chair, waiting for him. At eight o’clock sharp, Axel arrived at the company, entered the office, saw Landon, and loudly questioned, "Why are you here?"
