I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 314: A Loving Couple
CHAPTER 314: CHAPTER 314: A LOVING COUPLE
Landon Lawson pretended to casually watch the busy figure in the kitchen.
He was growing more and more interested in Sienna Quinn. Cooking herself, huh? What else about her that he couldn’t have imagined?
It seemed that these five years had truly honed Sienna Quinn in many ways. Even someone who never knew how to cook had become quite adept at it.
Though it was merely a simple stir-fried cauliflower and spinach, the aroma wafting from the kitchen was enough to awaken Landon Lawson’s appetite. Over the years, he’d attended countless banquets, big and small, but such a simple home-cooked meal had become a luxury to him.
Sienna Quinn carried a dish and placed it on the small table in the kitchen, when footsteps sounded behind her.
Before she could react, a pair of men’s shoes stepped into the kitchen.
Without saying a word, Landon Lawson took the dish from the table and headed to the dining table in the main hall, without reservation.
Sienna Quinn’s eyes widened, baffled by his actions, sitting there in a daze, not knowing what to do.
Landon Lawson seemed quite satisfied with her reaction, plus the enticing aroma of the food had successfully drawn him in, boosting his mood. He was even a bit smug, a feeling he hadn’t experienced in quite a while.
Sitting down, and seeing Sienna Quinn still in the kitchen, he said coldly, "Bring the rice over once it’s ready."
Only then did Sienna Quinn snap out of it, obediently serving a bowl of rice as per his instructions and returning to the dining table in the living room.
Landon Lawson took the rice with one hand, calmly eating the meal Sienna Quinn prepared.
Sienna Quinn gaped in disbelief at how unapologetically he acted; he really...well, the whole villa was his, let alone just one meal.
Though in the previous life over five years, Landon Lawson had never once eaten a meal she cooked, in this life he had unexpectedly come late, which alone was enough to surprise Sienna Quinn.
Sienna Quinn silently served another bowl of rice and sat beside him, both eating strangely, the atmosphere somewhat ambiguous, as she felt a small warmth — it was the first time Landon Lawson had accompanied her for a proper meal, wasn’t it?
Despite it not being mealtime, both Sienna Quinn and Landon Lawson ate heartily, quickly finishing off the meal.
After eating, Landon Lawson naturally got up from the table, while Sienna Quinn, as usual, cleaned up the dishes, this time with one more set to wash. It actually felt quite nice.
Landon Lawson noticed Sienna Quinn’s actions, a strange look in his eyes quickly disappeared. Sienna Quinn didn’t notice Landon Lawson watching her, happily cleaning the dishes and returning to her room upstairs.
Back in her room, Sienna Quinn held her wildly beating heart, feeling as if she were in love — yes, that’s right, she had developed feelings again.
No surprise there, facing such a celestial being, albeit a cold and emotionless one, it was hard not to feel moved.
Although the two hadn’t exchanged words during the entire process, Sienna Quinn was embarrassingly flushed and her heart racing, her breath short. Luckily her acting was good enough not to give away anything in front of Landon Lawson, or she would certainly be ridiculed by him.
"Sienna Quinn, now is not the time to be infatuated. You need to make an effort to help Landon Lawson out of the shadow of his hand injury."
Sienna Quinn quietly reminded herself, afraid that she might lose herself in daydreams and neglect Landon Lawson’s pain.
In the room, before her rebirth, Sienna Quinn was never afraid that Landon Lawson would suddenly enter. He never had any disdain for entering her room — rather, their new room, to be precise.
But now, as she moved back in, their mutual feelings reestablished, she truly feared Landon Lawson would suddenly come in. Though they had already been physically intimate before, Sienna Quinn still wasn’t quite used to it.
Throughout the evening, Landon Lawson didn’t enter the room, and Sienna Quinn’s fluctuating heart settled down.
Once again stepping out of the room, she learned from the butler downstairs that Landon Lawson had already left the villa at noon.
Sienna Quinn felt a bit lost, having resolved to accompany him no matter what, yet he remained distant because of his hand.
At the same time Sienna had gone back to her room, Landon Lawson’s expression had grown even more solemn, because he found himself quite satisfied with the meal she cooked.
His taste was light, and very few could dine alongside him, yet Sienna Quinn matched his taste perfectly, pleasing him somewhat.
But soon, Landon Lawson dismissed her entirely. He didn’t wish to burden her more. Besides, wasn’t she previously out for revenge, so why was she treating him so well now?
Landon thought as much, yet his heart didn’t wholly believe it; this was what they called self-deception.
Landon felt restless, deciding to alter his plan to take a day off, grabbing the car keys and leaving the villa.
For several consecutive days, as noon approached, Landon Lawson seemed to return to the villa as if by clockwork, just as Sienna Quinn prepared meals for herself.
Landon raised an eyebrow at the food on the table, took off his jacket, washed his hands, and ate without a word, with a casual air that made Sienna Quinn feel quite helpless.
What could she say? Technically, she was his wife, so cooking for him was expected.
Sienna Quinn repressed her confusion, staying silent. Landon Lawson, likewise, spoke no words; after finishing eating, he left for work like an ordinary husband, exhibiting no differences.
Maintaining an outward calm, Sienna Quinn’s inner turmoil surged. Once might be an accident, but twice, thrice, or even more frequent is something...could it mean he cared for her?
That night, soaking in the bath, Sienna reflected on the meals they’d shared over the past few days, wondering about their current relationship — could it be just partners eating together, merely dining companions?
Not knowing how long she soaked, once leaving the bathroom, Sienna found herself hungry again and went downstairs to the kitchen, overhearing the maids talking halfway down the stairs.
"Did you notice, Miss Quinn and Young Master Lawson aren’t as detached as outsiders claim; seems like they’re quite loving," said one maid.
"Yeah, Miss Quinn is gentle and beautiful, her demeanor impeccable; who wouldn’t like her? Besides, since we’ve arrived, Young Master Lawson almost always has lunch with Miss Quinn. I’d say they’re in the honeymoon phase, their feelings quite strong," another maid agreed.
Sienna Quinn was taken aback by the comment; honeymoon phase? Whose honeymoon involves not speaking a word for days, not even making eye contact? He must come back just coincidentally for a meal...
The maids didn’t notice Sienna Quinn standing off in the distance, continuing their discussion.
"Absolutely, the rumors spread are so outlandish; saying Young Master Lawson’s feelings with Vera Yates linger and unresolved connections with the ex-wife. In my opinion, those people don’t understand the feelings between Young Master Lawson and Miss Quinn..."
Sienna Quinn chuckled at the notion; feelings? Did Landon Lawson have even a hint of affection for her? If it weren’t for Grandpa Lawson’s influence, she would’ve long been chased out of the Lawson Family.
