I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 355: Acting, Surveillance
CHAPTER 355: CHAPTER 355: ACTING, SURVEILLANCE
"You don’t have to thank me, not so early. Whether you two can get to the point of marriage is still a question. Don’t forget, we haven’t even divorced yet."
Landon Lawson also wore a faint smile.
The two men stared off just like that, neither willing to give in.
Ten minutes later.
Thud, thud, thud!
Watching the door, Sienna Quinn, dressed in finery, came down. Though dressed up, she didn’t seem at all ostentatious.
She had her hair tied up, exposing a beautiful and flawless face. Her almond eyes were bright and expressive, every smile and frown were so captivating. She wore an emerald green long dress, tall and slender, looking like a fairy descended from heaven.
Having packed everything, Sienna left the Lawson Family with Evan Quinn, and before leaving, she specially looked back at Landon Lawson. To her surprise, Landon looked completely indifferent, not even turning to glance at Sienna.
Sienna’s eyes reddened slightly. Does he really not care about her at all?
To be honest, the reason Sienna agreed to visit the Yates Family was partly to probe Axel Yates, and partly to use this opportunity to test Landon Lawson’s true feelings toward her.
But seeing his attitude, Sienna’s heart remained painfully hurt.
"Mommy, if you don’t want to go, just don’t go."
Evan Quinn saw Sienna’s reluctance and spoke sharply. To be honest, he found the adult world truly baffling—their parents obviously cared for and liked each other, yet both pretended not to.
Sienna leaned down and kissed Evan Quinn: "No way, Chloe. We’ve promised Uncle Yates that we’ll go." Then Sienna stood up and bid farewell to Landon Lawson, thinking since he wouldn’t open his mouth, she’d speak first: "I’m leaving."
With that, she turned around in anger to leave with Evan Quinn.
Since Landon Lawson never put her in his heart, why should she be sentimental?
"If you walk out, don’t come back. The Lawson Family doesn’t welcome you."
Behind her, the man’s cold voice devoid of any emotion pierced Sienna’s heart like an arrow.
Sienna stifled her anger, tightly holding Evan Quinn’s hand, leaving quickly.
Evan Quinn turned back, but saw Landon Lawson watching them, with inexplicable sadness in his eyes.
Axel Yates stood in place, watched Landon’s back coldly, and laughed: "I wonder how long you’ll keep pretending."
Sienna and Evan sat in the car, the woman’s face visibly upset.
"Mommy! Let’s go back to Daddy, please?"
Evan Quinn tugged at Sienna’s sleeve, pleading incessantly.
Sienna was still angry, unwilling to listen to Evan: "Chloe! Your daddy doesn’t want us! Why should we go back?"
Evan Quinn shook his head helplessly, feeling anxious about Sienna’s intelligence.
"Mommy! Didn’t you think about Daddy’s words just now? Daddy said if you walk out, don’t come back, isn’t that indirectly wanting you to stay?"
Evan’s insight made Sienna suddenly realize, deeply impressed by this father-son thought process. Could Landon really be hoping she’d stay?
It has to be; his arrogance suits such a method.
Just as Sienna hesitated about going back, Axel Yates had already driven over.
"Sienna, Chloe. Let’s go."
Axel stepped out of the car, well-dressed today too. The tailored expensive suit instantly elevated his aura, his straight nose with a smiling thin lip.
His beautiful eyes seemed to hold the stars and sea.
"Okay." Sienna boarded the car with Evan, thinking to resolve this matter first.
Seeing Sienna smoothly seated in the sports car, Axel Yates finally breathed a sigh of relief. He originally thought she might change her mind again.
Axel turned his head to look at the woman beside him, momentarily absorbed.
This woman would eventually be his again...
Sienna and Evan returned to the villa Axel had specially prepared.
Sienna said little, directly heading into a room with Evan.
Axel blatantly provoked Landon Lawson, departing from his previously modest style, now appearing so arrogant.
Sienna couldn’t help feeling disappointed in him, yet internally justified for Axel, thinking perhaps he was brooding over the fact that she was Landon’s ex-wife.
Once he vented this repressed feeling, he wouldn’t act this way again.
It’s not like she imagined—dark and dirty.
The more Sienna sought positivity in life, the more life ruthlessly struck her.
Evan Quinn lay on the bed sulking, ignoring Sienna.
Sienna approached him, gently patting his back, patiently saying: "Evan Quinn, shall we go to school tomorrow?"
Evan Quinn buried his head under the blanket, "Mommy already decided, so why ask me? I’m just a kid, my opinion isn’t important."
Sienna smiled, saying: "Evan Quinn’s opinion is of course vital, Mommy takes Chloe’s suggestions seriously no matter the choice because Chloe is a little man, Mommy’s reliance."
Hearing this, Evan brightened slightly, but recalled Axel’s words at the Lawson house, frowning again.
The little fellow dropped his head, lethargic, sitting up to look at Sienna, "Mommy, are you really going to be with Uncle Yates? Is Uncle Axel really going to be my daddy?"
Sienna sorrowfully touched Evan’s ears, lovingly gazing at him, "Evan Quinn, you didn’t oppose this before, did you? You were always hoping I’d find you a daddy. Uncle Yates said he’d care for you like your dad, having an extra person valuing you is good."
"But my daddy is only Landon Lawson!"
Evan said stubbornly, but seeing Sienna’s dim look, he knew she was in difficulty.
"Mommy, if you marry Uncle Orwell, can I not call him daddy...?"
Sienna knew Landon’s influence was substantial to Evan, so accepting her marriage to Axel was already tough for him.
She understood Evan’s feelings, thus didn’t pressure him to accept Axel now.
That night, Evan lay silently in Sienna’s embrace, his response firmer than usual children.
Other kids might cry or fuss when faced with things they couldn’t accept, but Evan only voiced his small request, agreeing to other matters.
Once both were sound asleep.
In another room, lights glowed brightly. In a corner sat a computer displaying surveillance of every corner of the villa.
Watching the screen, the embracing pair’s image, Axel Yates curled his lips into a triumphant smile.
He wasn’t just aiming to steal Landon’s woman but also his child, intending for Landon to see everything slipping away.
Axel laughed heartily, rising from his seat, heading toward the bedside to sleep.
About half an hour passed.
The initially sleeping pair opened their eyes simultaneously.
Evan Quinn whispered only to be heard between them: "Mommy, what’s going on? Why’d you have me act out a scene today?"
