I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 362: Framing and False Accusation
CHAPTER 362: CHAPTER 362: FRAMING AND FALSE ACCUSATION
"No... nothing, I just think we should investigate this matter as soon as possible, so we can come up with a solution."
Axel Yates nodded, "Sienna Quinn, rest assured, I’ll personally investigate this. There’s absolutely no way this will hinder our company’s designers’ careers." His resolute gaze and responsible demeanor were truly handsome.
Upon returning to the company, Axel Yates called Designer Langley and Danielle Carter into his office. Both felt wronged by the plagiarism accusation and swore they hadn’t copied anyone’s work.
Danielle was a recent graduate, and naturally had never encountered such a complex situation. The severe consequences were too overwhelming for her, as if she was on the edge of a breakdown.
"President Orwell, President Quinn, please believe us. We know the consequences of plagiarism are severe, so we would never knowingly make such a mistake!"
From entering the office until explaining everything, Danielle’s tears hadn’t stopped.
Sienna Quinn felt deeply sympathetic; such a pure and ambitious young woman shouldn’t have to endure such pain.
"Danielle Carter, don’t worry, President Orwell and I will find a way to uncover the truth and clear our names."
Designer Langley had seen his fair share of storms, but facing a global ban was unsettling even for him.
"I’m sorry, President Orwell, for causing trouble." Designer Langley felt deeply ashamed. Axel Yates had been a mentor to him, and he really just wanted to work diligently alongside him, but unfortunately, such a situation occurred.
Axel Yates walked over and firmly patted Designer Langley on the shoulder, "Langley, there’s no need for formalities between us. You and Danielle have worked hard these past few days, go home and rest well. Leave the company’s issues to Sienna and me."
In such a situation, who could really rest or indulge? Yet, Designer Langley still nodded. Staying at the company would not be helpful; it was better to go home, calm down, and think through where things went wrong.
After the two left, Axel suddenly said to Sienna, "I need to go abroad tomorrow for a business meeting."
In fact, Axel Yates wanted to lay low for a while.
He had masterminded the plagiarism scandal, even keeping Danielle in the dark.
Sienna nodded, "Oh, I see. What time is your flight tomorrow night? I’d like to see you off."
Axel refused immediately, "The company is facing a lot right now. You should stay and deal with the issues, help me watch over the company."
"Alright, go handle your things. I’ve got the company covered." Such situations were not new to Sienna; every time Axel was away, she would manage things in his absence.
This time was no exception.
Axel’s departure was troubling for her because all the responsibilities fell onto her shoulders.
She initially came over today just to clear things up with Axel, but who knew situations would turn out like this?
She couldn’t calm her emotions for now.
Looking at the food on the table, Axel picked some for Sienna, "The upcoming period will be quite troublesome for you."
"No problem, I’ll handle it well. Rest assured and go attend to your business." Sienna replied confidently.
Axel truly felt heartache, but he couldn’t stay by her side any longer.
He must proceed with this step to deal with Landon Lawson.
He handed a napkin to Sienna, not wiping her mouth himself because the man to do that now should be Landon Lawson; he didn’t want to overstep.
"Sienna, I hope you find happiness, and regarding the things I confessed to you in the hospital, they were sincere. If Landon dares to wrong you, I won’t spare him, and I won’t let go again."
Axel’s expression was serious; the only girl who moved his heart had become someone else’s wife.
Sienna smiled, wiping the grease from her lips, "I’m sorry, I don’t think you’ll get the chance. President Yates, you should find a wife soon. You’ve been alone long enough; it’s time you get a girlfriend to keep you in check."
Axel smiled charmingly, "Yes, I wonder what kind of girl could keep me in line?"
"Don’t be too picky; just someone decent will do."
The two continued joking, lightening the conversation.
During their meal, Sienna received a message from Landon Lawson.
Upon hearing her phone, Axel remarked, "Looks like President Lawson is quite strict. Alright, it seems you’ve eaten enough, let’s get you home. Otherwise, President Lawson might come after us."
Sienna smiled awkwardly, "Well, he’s waiting in the car just outside the restaurant."
This PDA was overwhelming...
"Alright, let me go pay the bill and ensure you get safely to the car. That’ll ease President Lawson’s mind." Axel felt heartbroken but spoke like a gentleman.
Sienna didn’t refuse, and after Axel paid, they walked together to Landon’s car.
"President Lawson, so leisurely, waiting for us this long; apologies. Had I known, I’d have invited you in to eat with us."
Axel’s words carried hidden meanings.
Landon looked at Axel sternly; a defeated rival still dared to be so arrogant. Truly an actor, pretending not to hate each other, one would think they were good friends.
"Thank you, President Yates, for taking care of my wife; no need to trouble you with hosting me."
The two men exchanged sharp glances, but Axel soon backed down from further confrontation.
"Landon Lawson, take good care of Sienna. Don’t let her be heartbroken again. Otherwise, I’ll be back."
"Sienna is my wife; naturally, I will take good care of her. No need for your concern, President Yates," Landon replied coldly.
Axel gave Sienna a long, earnest look, perhaps the last time he would gaze at her this way...
Axel gracefully walked out of Sienna and Landon’s line of sight.
Sienna climbed into Landon’s car with a heavy heart, and Landon suddenly felt the weight of Axel’s words.
"What is up with that guy? Saying he’ll be back, is he going somewhere?" Landon questioned Sienna.
Sienna sighed, unable to hold it back, "Yes, he’s heading to Toronto tomorrow."
Landon gazed in the direction Axel had left; he was already gone from view.
Landon knew that Sienna always regarded Axel as a benefactor, and knowing the whole truth must cause her distress.
But the Axel of today was no longer the once gentle, carefree Axel he once was.
"Alright, since everything’s been said, no further interactions are needed with him."
Landon patted Sienna on the shoulder, comforting her.
She knew this too, yet she still felt heartache...
