I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 365: Turning the Tables
CHAPTER 365: CHAPTER 365: TURNING THE TABLES
"Didn’t get it? What’s wrong?" As expected, President Lawson felt nothing.
Sienna Quinn didn’t expect him to figure it out on his own, so she sincerely explained, "It’s about buying things here. Don’t you feel like you’ve been tricked? We already bought a lot of things, some of which we didn’t even need, but you insisted on buying them, so we did. But why did you listen to that sales clerk and even decide to take maternity photos, especially when the price is so high?"
Landon Lawson remained unfazed, without a hint of regret, "Don’t you think it has great sentimental value?"
Sienna Quinn sighed and said, "Yes, I admit it has sentimental value, but if we want to take photos, we can go to a specialized studio where it’s professional and doesn’t cost that much money, right?"
"Why bother? Today’s photos turned out just fine."
It’s rare for Landon Lawson to praise someone. If that photographer heard, they’d probably be moved to tears.
Sienna Quinn was amused and exasperated, "My point isn’t about whether to take those maternity photos or not. I’m saying next time when you’re shopping with me, don’t get swayed by the salespeople. They’re just trying to sell things without caring if customers genuinely need them. Is that okay?"
Landon Lawson vigorously ruffled Sienna Quinn’s hair until her smooth locks were messily tangled, then he let go.
"Got it, housekeeper!" Landon Lawson affectionately said.
"You’re calling me a housekeeper again! I’m not! I’m serious, okay? Be serious." Sienna Quinn glared at the man in front of her, trying to pass off lightly.
"Alright, I’ll seriously answer you, I-under-stand!"
"That’s more like it." Sienna Quinn smiled with satisfaction.
The days leading to delivery were both happy and anxious. Sienna Quinn noticeably felt her body growing heavier, and now even walking a few steps left her breathless.
It’s said that carrying a pregnancy for ten months isn’t easy. Specifically, a pregnancy lasts about forty-two weeks. Sometimes now, when she rests at night, the baby would kick her awake, or she’d need to use the bathroom. Indeed, in the later stages of pregnancy, her trips to the bathroom became much more frequent.
Hence, she rarely had a good night’s sleep. Fortunately, Landon Lawson was always by her side. Every time she woke up and saw Landon Lawson peacefully sleeping next to her, her heart settled.
To make a woman willingly bear a child for a man requires immense courage. In the dead of night, Sienna Quinn thought back to the reason why she conceived this child. That time, she set Landon Lawson up, climbed into his bed, only wanting to have a child to fulfill Grandma Lawson’s wish.
Unexpectedly, she succeeded in one try, and since then, her emotions could no longer remain simple as in the beginning. Bearing a child, raising a child requires much love, and the process is not simple.
On the way back, Evan Quinn blinked his bright eyes while naughtily moving his little hands back and forth gently on Sienna Quinn’s stomach.
"Mommy, is there really a baby in your belly?"
"Yes," Sienna Quinn nodded earnestly, then looked at Evan Quinn, thinking he would feel neglected because she was having a second child, so he must be unhappy, even waiting in the car while they took photos.
"Chloe, do you like having a little sister or brother?" Sienna Quinn cautiously asked Evan Quinn, only able to probe without being too direct.
Unexpectedly, Evan Quinn nodded continuously like a pecking chick: "I like it. Mommy must bring the baby to me soon! Then I’ll be a big brother!"
Seeing his eager and excited expression, Sienna Quinn felt very comforted.
"Then why didn’t you come with Mommy and Daddy to take photos?" Sienna Quinn asked the question that puzzled her.
Evan Quinn shook his head hard, then explained, "I wouldn’t go because that’s the time for the little brother or sister to be with their parents alone. As a big brother, I wouldn’t interrupt."
Sienna Quinn was shocked by Evan Quinn’s answer, not expecting him to be such a considerate and kind child.
She couldn’t help but hold Evan Quinn tightly in her arms and affectionately stroked his little head.
This little guy’s thoughtfulness was heartbreaking.
At the same time, Sienna Quinn secretly promised to treat Evan Quinn doubly well and not neglect him because of the second child.
At Lawson Group, Landon Lawson asked Nolan Shaw, "How is it? Have you investigated? Regarding the plagiarism issue between our group and Yates Group?"
"Yes, it was the Yates Group. Axel Yates had people infiltrate our group for a long time, stole our design plans, and used them. But fortunately, President, you were foresighted and had backup plans for everything, making the Yates Group believe they stole the original designs, while in fact, you had already hidden the originals."
Listening to the heartfelt praise from Nolan Shaw, Landon Lawson’s lips curved into a confident smile.
"Then, should we tell President Quinn?"
Nolan Shaw cautiously glanced at Landon Lawson, his eyes carrying an inquisitive look.
Landon Lawson took a deep breath and then decided, "Don’t tell her."
Landon Lawson wanted to protect Sienna Quinn and didn’t want her to be troubled by the feud between him and Axel Yates.
He always understood Sienna Quinn’s feelings toward Axel Yates. The great kindness outweighed heaven, and Sienna Quinn always acted this way.
However, being kept in the dark, Sienna Quinn knew nothing and was manipulated by Axel Yates with his ulterior motives.
One day, Danielle Carter called Sienna Quinn, sounding very anxious, "Hello? President Quinn! Please hurry and bring the original design drafts Axel Yates gave you to the Yates Group. The person disputing the drafts has come and is threatening to tear down our company!"
Upon hearing this, Sienna Quinn shouted, "Not good," hung up the phone, and ran out quickly. Soon she drove to the Yates Group.
Sienna Quinn swiftly unbuckled her seatbelt, then took the elevator up to the top floor meeting room.
As soon as she opened the meeting room door, Sienna Quinn was dumbfounded because the person Danielle Carter said would dismantle the Yates Group was Landon Lawson. He sat like an emperor at the head, with others as insignificant as ants, at his mercy.
Why? Why didn’t Danielle Carter tell her it was Landon Lawson?
No way! There really is a dispute between Lawson Group and Yates Group.
She was instantly caught in a dilemma, standing there motionless.
Upon seeing Sienna Quinn, Landon Lawson furrowed his brows deeply, his entire face cold. At that moment, he knew it must be Axel Yates’s doing, and to avoid confrontations with Sienna Quinn and himself, he had already fled abroad.
"Oh, President Quinn, did you bring the design drafts?"
Danielle Carter’s eyes darted around, then she stood up from her chair and approached Sienna Quinn according to Axel Yates’s prior instructions.
But faced with Danielle Carter’s inquiry, Sienna Quinn remained as if struck by lightning, not moving, although she had already brought the design drafts Axel Yates gave her before entering.
Danielle Carter naturally noticed this and effortlessly took the design drafts, then showed them to everyone, including Bourbon.
