I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 374: Blinded by Hatred
CHAPTER 374: CHAPTER 374: BLINDED BY HATRED
Vera Yates looked into her mother’s determined eyes and felt a bit shaken inside. She sighed deeply and said, "Let me think about it some more."
Her mother pursed her lips and smiled, convinced that Vera would agree because this child was so much like her younger self.
However, Vera wasn’t as ruthless as she was back then, and she was a bit kinder than her younger self.
After several days of a cold war with Sienna Quinn, Axel Yates felt his life was worse than death. Today, he was even more intense, locking himself in his office and smashing everything inside.
Danielle Carter stood at the door, her heart pounding, listening to the sounds inside. Nervously rubbing her hands together, she finally mustered the courage to push open the office door and said to the disheveled man, "President Yates, why don’t you go see President Quinn? If you keep on like this, you’ll be completely ruined."
"Go find her? How do you expect me to do that?" Axel Yates laughed coldly.
"Do you really want to keep dragging this on? If you can’t forget her, why deceive yourself like this?" Danielle’s own heart ached more than anyone’s, but she had to endure it.
Axel Yates stood in a daze. Ever since he had been open with Sienna, every day had been unhappy.
"Fine, I’ll go apologize right now."
He was truly fed up with days like this and couldn’t stand another day. Another day like this and he feared he might die here. How could he die with his revenge unfulfilled?
He knew he’d gone too far that day with his words.
No matter what Sienna’s decision was, there was still room for discussion; the words shouldn’t have been so harsh.
Since Axel Yates had made his decision, he couldn’t wait to drive away. Danielle watched from the building as the car raced below, knowing one of them had to be her boss.
"Go pursue your love."
Sienna sat at home.
Hearing the doorbell, she opened the door to see Axel Yates holding a bouquet of roses. She showed no expression and turned away to let Axel in.
"Aren’t you surprised? Aren’t you going to ask how I found this place?" Axel said, seeing the leading woman without any expression.
Sienna looked at Axel seriously and said, "If you want to know something, this city’s affairs naturally will come to your knowledge. What’s there to be surprised about?"
Sienna’s voice was neither fast nor slow.
Axel continued with a cheerful tone, "I remember you mentioned Chiara Thorne’s birthday was coming soon. What do you think I should give her as a gift?"
"Whatever you like."
Sienna’s voice was exceptionally cold. Even one more word with him felt like a waste of breath.
Axel stared blankly at Sienna, wondering why she had changed so much overnight.
With a bitter smile, he continued to change the subject: "This house is really nice. How about I buy it for you, considering the contributions you’ve made to the company? It can be a reward from the company..."
"President Yates, you shouldn’t forget what I said that day. I said we’d go our separate ways from now on," Sienna interjected coldly.
Axel Yates pressed his lips together tightly, then, as if having amnesia, stared at Sienna and said, "What words? Oh, I’ve really forgotten. It doesn’t seem like a big deal."
"Stop deceiving yourself. I don’t want to have any connections or ties with you. Please leave!" Sienna’s voice wasn’t loud or soft but just enough for Axel to hear her clearly.
Axel’s smile froze on his face as his mouth twitched, and a sorrowful expression slowly spread.
"You’re really heartless. You’re the one who said you wanted to be with me, and now you’re the one who doesn’t want to be. You never respected my opinion!"
Axel suddenly yelled in anger.
"I’m sorry, President Yates. We’re not suitable for each other. We simply don’t belong in the same world, so why force it?"
Sienna knew she had really hurt Axel Yates this time, deeply.
But some things had to be said.
She couldn’t accept him, and she didn’t want a future life with her and Evan Quinn fraught with trials and tribulations.
She must completely resolve this, or her future life would be full of unease.
Seeing Evan grow up healthily and happily without worries was the only thing she wanted to do for now. As for her own future happiness, she wouldn’t depend on anyone else.
Axel Yates was not her ideal partner.
Axel, in pain, said, "I thought that by pretending to be stupid, you would feel a bit of mercy toward me, but I was wrong and ridiculous. Regardless of the past five years, despite my efforts, you’ve never thought highly of me, even though I love you to the bone..."
"President Yates, can’t you face reality? The one you love isn’t me; the person you love has always been yourself. You’ve changed, and you’re not yourself anymore."
Sienna shouted loudly.
She hadn’t intended to say this, but now she was truly pushed.
Every time she saw her eyes clouded by hatred, Sienna Quinn’s heart ached more than anyone else’s.
The man squinted his eyes and looked at Sienna, saying, "What do you want to say?"
Clearly, just a second ago, his eyes were full of tenderness, but in the next moment, they were filled with coldness.
"You’re blinded by hatred," Sienna took a deep breath and voiced her thoughts.
"Hmph! What do you know? I don’t want to discuss this with you." Axel Yates snorted coldly, believing that Sienna was about to defend Landon Lawson.
Sienna was about to say something when Axel interrupted her, "Sienna, you don’t need to speak; I know my own matters. I cannot let go of my parents’ vengeance, no matter the cost. I’m willing to pay any price. The one who’s blinded isn’t me, it’s you. You’ve been completely deceived by him now."
Axel turned and left in disappointment, and Sienna opened her mouth but found herself unable to say anything.
What exactly should she do to minimize the harm to Axel as much as possible?
How could she make him see reality? Or was what she said earlier too harsh? She regretted her cruelty, knowing that her decisive actions this time stemmed from her understanding that she was always moved by Axel, but never in love with him.
She also didn’t want him to venture further down the path of revenge.
These past few days felt like returning to the ordinary life she had before, but Sienna knew that Axel’s condition was not right. His previous days at the company already made him realize that there were significant issues within the group, like an invisible hand tightly gripping the company, controlled by a mysterious force from the shadows.
This feeling left Sienna very worried.
Moreover, what unsettled her during this period was the situation with Landon Lawson, who seemed to have vanished without a trace.
Time flew by, and it was finally Chiara Thorne’s birthday party.
Early in the morning, Felix Orwell came to Sienna’s house to pick her and Evan Quinn up to attend Chiara’s party.
Seeing Felix, the worries in Sienna’s heart finally settled.
"How are things at the company lately?"
"Relax and focus on your health. Do you really think I’m useless?" The man chuckled at his carefree tone.
Sienna knew then that there wasn’t anything major.
"Alright, since there’s nothing else, let’s go now." Felix urged from the side.
"Today’s Aunt Chiara’s birthday party, there will surely be lots of fun things!" Evan was more excited than anyone.
In the end, it was Evan who kept urging Sienna until she got into the car.
In the back seat, Sienna held Evan’s hand. Evan was very happy, chattering non-stop in the car.
"I can finally see Aunt Chiara!" Evan shouted excitedly.
Sienna smiled gently, "Evan, be good today. Aunt Chiara will be busy, so wait till she’s free to play with you, okay?"
"Okay! I want Aunt Chiara to buy me lots of delicious food!"
Felix turned his head to glance at Evan, "Whatever Evan wants to eat, just call me Handsome Brother, and I’ll buy it all for you?"
"Really?" Evan exclaimed excitedly.
"Of course it’s true, when have I ever lied to you?" Felix said with a laugh.
Evan’s world was simple, and he clapped happily, saying, "Great!"
Sienna shot a sharp look at Evan, and he immediately changed his mind, saying, "Forget it, I suddenly don’t want to eat anymore."
Though Felix didn’t see Sienna’s look, he knew it was she who stopped Evan.
He smiled warmly, persuading Sienna, "You’re such a strict mom, it’s just some snacks, but you’re this strict."
"I can’t let my son get mixed up with you needlessly." Sienna said seriously.
Felix: "..."
"Sienna, aren’t we good friends anymore?" Felix put on a hurt expression, and if he weren’t holding the steering wheel, he would surely clutch his chest pretending to have heartache.
"Evan, watch Uncle Felix closely, okay?" Sienna pointed at Felix, speaking earnestly.
Felix nodded satisfactorily, finally getting the right attitude.
"He’s your opposite example." Before Felix could be too pleased, Sienna’s next words almost made him spit blood.
"Mommy, Uncle Felix is so dramatic," Evan said playfully.
