I Have A Solo Mommy Plan, But Daddy Refuses to Let Go
Chapter 392: Still Moved at Heart
CHAPTER 392: CHAPTER 392: STILL MOVED AT HEART
Since Sienna Quinn and Evan Quinn will leave the country sooner or later, the idea of letting Landon Lawson see them one last time before they depart is excellent.
"Come with me." Nolan Shaw said to the two of them.
Sienna Quinn and Evan Quinn did not notice Nolan Shaw’s unusual behavior. Evan Quinn followed Nolan Shaw with a cheerful smile, proactively pulling Sienna Quinn along as they walked forward. As the distance shortened, when the three of them reached the president’s office, Sienna’s heart started pounding suddenly.
Extending her other hand, clutching her chest, feeling her heartbeat racing, the feeling of being on the verge of suffocation—when did this fear start?
Was it because she didn’t want to hear the cold words from Landon Lawson, or was she afraid to see his indifferent expression?
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Nolan Shaw reached out, gently tapping the door of the office. Each tap seemed to hammer into Sienna Quinn’s heart, rendering her almost breathless...
"Come in."
The deep and magnetic voice suddenly echoed, the fear visible in Sienna’s beautiful eyes...
Not knowing what it would be like inside now. Would Landon Lawson gaze at her coldly upon seeing her? This proximity contrasted with the instinct to retreat.
Nolan Shaw gently pushed the office door open, Evan Quinn excitedly entered, yelling inside. "Daddy, Mom and I have come to visit you."
Upon hearing Evan Quinn’s voice, Landon Lawson lifted his head slowly. His pupils contracted sharply upon seeing the small figure rush in.
How could Evan Quinn be here? Shouldn’t he be with Sienna Quinn? If Evan Quinn appears here, then is Sienna...
Thinking of this, Landon Lawson’s gaze moved behind Evan, and saw that graceful figure emerging slowly before him, his pupils lighting up with surprise, before quickly reverting back to indifference. Landon knew he could not show any other emotions, absolutely not allowing this woman to kindle hope again, otherwise Evan and Sienna would never leave.
No matter how much love dwells in his heart, he must endure it—this is Landon Lawson’s responsibility towards Sienna Quinn, the only way to ensure their absolute safety.
Similarly, as Sienna entered, she caught sight of the silent Landon Lawson, seated in a swivel chair, his slender figure exuding a distinct uprightness. Even though Landon’s right arm couldn’t move at all, it didn’t diminish his handsomeness—why? It seemed there was a touch of weariness and some traces of age; could these be due to the busy company affairs?
Though Landon Lawson is the president of the company, not everything requires hands-on involvement. Despite being in the role for many years, with unique methods in handling matters, why was he so exhausted—were there issues in the company recently?
Landon Lawson stared sharply at Nolan Shaw in displeasure. Nolan instinctively shrunk his neck, not daring to meet Landon’s eyes.
"Why are you here?"
Landon furrowed his beautiful eyebrows.
Those cold words had barely been spoken when Sienna Quinn’s body trembled slightly. She knew this man wouldn’t want to see her and Evan Quinn appear from the start. Landon Lawson always wanted to cut ties with them.
Originally, Evan’s advancing steps abruptly halted, eyes filled with shock as he looked at Landon Lawson with disbelief shimmering in his pupils.
"Daddy, so you don’t want to see Mom and me?"
Landon Lawson furrowed his brows again, unable to utter those cold words that send chills down one’s spine upon witnessing Evan’s sincere eyes.
Sienna’s heart trembled slightly, even knowing Landon’s choice, she hoped that their final meeting would not leave any psychological shadows on Evan.
"How could that be? Your daddy loves you most, don’t you know that?"
Sienna quickly stepped forward to explain to Evan.
"Is that true?"
Evan looked suspiciously at Landon Lawson.
Sienna also cast her gaze to Landon, with a trace of earnestness in her eyes. Landon’s heart ached for Evan—this was the first time he saw Sienna plea in her gaze. Words on the tip of his tongue, all coldness vanished at that moment. Only by playing out today’s scene can Landon give Evan one last beautiful day—something he could do one last time for this mother and son.
"I’m more than happy to see you, how could I not want to?"
Upon hearing Landon’s reply, Evan finally relaxed, waving his small hands at Landon, shaking his chubby little body, walking over to Landon and throwing himself into his arms, speaking cutely.
"Since you love Mom and me, that’s great. Why haven’t you come over to visit us for so long?" Evan looked at Landon with a slight complaint.
Landon lovingly reached out, gently ruffling Evan’s hair, saying with full affection, "Because I need to work to earn money, otherwise how would I support you and your mom?"
"Liar, Mom and I don’t eat much, it wouldn’t cost you much."
The little one pouted slightly, speaking to Landon.
Landon laughed heartily, looking at Evan cheerfully.
Half a two-hour later.
Sienna and Landon faced each other, staring at the indifferent man before her, feeling momentarily dazed—is this still the tender man she loved?
It seemed like the incident of Landon shielding Sienna from a bullet happened just yesterday. Sienna vividly remembered Landon’s profound love for her, so deep he’d risk his life—yet, why can’t he love her now?
Landon gently furrowed his brow, being watched intently by Sienna made his heart race uncontrollably. Her gaze drew him in, unsettling the calm he’d barely established.
The man coughed lightly, speaking to Sienna, "Did you come today to talk to me about something?"
Choosing to break the silence first, Landon worried about if the mutual stare persisted, unsure when it might end, uncertain how long his restraint would last before he might lose control and embrace Sienna in his arms.
Listening to Landon’s cold words, Sienna laughed self-deprecatingly and said, "Evan and I will leave next week, and then you’ll never see us again. I won’t disrupt your life any longer, but I hope before we leave, you provide a beautiful memory for him and me."
