Donovan Shawcross walked away slowly with his hands behind his back, saying as he went, "Even if they can really deal with me, what of it? Now Landon Lawson himself can’t even keep himself safe..."

Donovan paused his steps, turned his head, and said to one of his subordinates, "Get in touch with Axel Yates."

"Axel Yates?"

The subordinate frowned slightly, looking at Donovan in confusion. It had been a long time since Axel had come around, so why contact him all of a sudden?

Donovan noticed the dazed look on his subordinate’s face and frowned coldly, "Is it that you all don’t want to listen to what I’m saying now?"

"We’ll listen! Of course we’ll listen," the subordinate quickly replied... If they dared go against Donovan Shawcross, their end would be just like Caleb Shawcross, but at least Caleb had Landon Lawson to protect him. They had no one at their side...

"Since you’ve heard, why aren’t you getting on with it?"

Donovan’s voice grew colder.

The subordinate nodded blankly and hurried off in the direction he needed to go.

Watching the direction his subordinate had left in, Donovan scoffed. None of these people listened to him anymore. Could it be that all of them had changed because of Axel Yates?

"Seems like getting rid of Axel Yates is unavoidable..."

Donovan’s eyes grew deeper, and his shadowy face held a cold smile...

The sneer at his lips made the last remaining subordinate shudder. What kind of things would their boss do?

Half a two-hour later, Axel Yates appeared at the agreed-upon place with Donovan Shawcross. He had a faint frown of doubt, "You’ve been asking to meet me quite frequently about these matters."

Axel’s hand slowly clenched into a fist; they indeed made such a promise before... yet the longer it went on, the more unfair it felt. He discovered he knew nothing about the mysterious man’s affairs, while this man seemed to know everything...

These uneasy thoughts grew deeper within him, the doubt evident on his face...

"Don’t you think this is unfair?"

"What can fairness mean between you and me?"

Donovan walked up to Axel and lightly patted him on the shoulder. His broad hand rested on Axel’s slightly narrow shoulder, slowly forming a fist, "You should know the gap between us. Without me, how could you possibly get revenge on Landon Lawson? I can lift you up, and I can also crush you down..."

The man’s voice grew colder, making Axel shiver violently.

Axel pressed his lips, his pupils filled with unwillingness, "I’ve already started to suppress Landon Lawson. He should be too busy to deal with you by now."

Axel’s face remained dark throughout, watching the mocking smile at the man’s lips. He slightly furrowed his brows, his gaze toward Donovan growing ominous.

"I hope you abide by our agreement."

"Of course, I will, as I’m a man of my word."

Donovan’s sinister smile remained, but Axel couldn’t entirely believe it...
