CHAPTER 54: CHAPTER 54: A HERO COMES TO THE RESCUE

The anticipated press conference did not happen, and Sienna Quinn wasn’t surprised. How could Landon Lawson do something to hurt Vera Yates? Their relationship was always twisted, never one of siblings.

She was his sister, but that was just an excuse.

However, she had prepared a gift for Vera Yates.

It’s only polite to reciprocate. Since Vera Yates had repeatedly caused her trouble, it wouldn’t be right if Sienna didn’t return the favor.

Early in the morning, she sent Evan Quinn to kindergarten, specifically telling the teacher that aside from Danielle Carter and Sean Carter, no one else could take Evan away, especially not any other men.

Only then did Sean Carter drive them to the company. As the three walked in, they noticed people pointing fingers at Sienna’s back. Though they whispered, their voices still reached their ears.

"President Quinn is interfering with Vera Yates and Landon Lawson."

"Your news is outdated. She’s Landon Lawson’s ex-wife, so who’s really interfering with whom?"...

Sean Carter, dressed in a sleek black suit, was a complete contrast to his previous sporty attire.

He lightly raised his handsome eyebrows, "Tsk tsk, even you’re being talked about. It seems Axel Yates’ company is just so-so."

Danielle Carter’s expression changed slightly, "I’ll go shut them up."

"No need, these things can’t be hidden."

Sienna was very composed. Since being photographed by the reporters, she had anticipated this scenario. What worried her was not just the outside gossip, but primarily Landon Lawson’s curiosity about Evan.

"Inform them about the meeting," Sienna told Danielle, who nodded and went to prepare the conference room.

When everyone arrived, the meeting commenced as scheduled, but Sienna noticed the three kept hesitating as if they wanted to speak.

Sienna placed the documents on the table, her hands resting on her chin, "If you have something to say, just say it directly."

"President Quinn, this is a personal issue for you, and we are reluctant to pry, but it concerns the interests of the entire company group, so we must consider it," Hector Warren, the eldest, finally spoke up after much deliberation.

Sienna surveyed the room, noticing all three avoided her gaze.

She smiled faintly, appearing very composed without a hint of embarrassment, "I understand what you’re worried about. My relationship with Landon Lawson ended five years ago. There will be no future ties, and it won’t affect business dealings."

Hector Warren smiled awkwardly, a sweat forming on his forehead, "President Quinn, I was just concerned for the company, nothing more."

"I understand, so just focus on what I’ve tasked you with, and that’s it. Meeting adjourned!"

Sienna was the first to walk out with her documents, quietly telling Sean Carter, "I’m afraid someone might target Evan, so make sure to watch closely and prevent any incidents."

Sean Carter naturally understood what Sienna was worried about, "Don’t worry, I’d already assigned people to keep an eye on him before you even mentioned it."

At the kindergarten, children’s playful sounds filled the air.

"Chloe, the bear you have is really nice. Let us play with it for a bit," a slightly chubby boy blocked Chloe in the garden corner.

Chloe said sadly, "But... this was left by my mom."

"What’s the big deal with playing for a bit? Stingy!" The boy retorted and forcibly snatched the teddy bear from Chloe’s hands. Due to the force, Chloe stumbled and fell to the ground.

Her knee was scratched by a sharp stone, fine red blood trickling down.

In pain, Chloe’s eyes filled with tears, but she bit her lip hard to prevent herself from making a sound, though her tears still fell.

The boy was momentarily stunned, disdainfully saying, "Why are you crying? It’s not like I did it on purpose. Don’t go tattling to the teacher saying I bullied you."

Chloe still kept her lips sealed and stayed silent.

Evan Quinn sat in the corner, setting down his book on the table. He stood up and grabbed a nearby ball, heading in that direction.

A clear voice rang out, "Apologize!"

The boy turned to look at Evan Quinn, who was half a head shorter than him, and snorted, "I won’t apologize. She fell by herself, why should I be blamed?"

Evan Quinn furrowed his handsome brows, realizing that reasoning with these little kids was futile. He picked up the ball and threw it at the boy’s arm.

Bang!

The boy clutched his arm in pain, his pupils dilated as he looked at Evan Quinn.

"What are you doing?"

"Nothing, it was just the ball hitting you, not me."

Evan Quinn sneered, who couldn’t play with words?

The boy, looking at Evan Quinn who was half a head shorter, clenched his little fists and charged at Evan Quinn.

The two small frames clashed.

Seeing Evan Quinn engage in a scuffle with the boy, Chloe anxiously circled around, tears flowing down her cheeks.

The noise caught the attention of a teacher nearby, who quickly ran over and separated the two, noticing both had gotten injured.

Evan Quinn squinted his eyes, full of defiance. His icy gaze made the boy shiver.

"Teacher Cole, Evan Quinn hit me first," the boy cried, wiping tears from his face.

Evan Quinn squinted, staring intently at the boy.

Chloe softly came forward, hugging the dropped teddy bear, "Teacher, he was the one who took my things first. Evan was just helping me."

Teacher Cole observed Evan standing calmly, neither crying nor fussing.

As if completely unhurt.

Calmness beyond what this age should show.

Teacher Cole exchanged glances with other teachers. Incidents like this in kindergarten rarely end peacefully with parents.

Evan Quinn took a step forward, his icy gaze fixed on the boy, "Apologize!"

"I... I want to find my mom!" The boy sat down and began to cry.

Evan Quinn frowned, "How old are you, still wanting to find your mom? Childish!"

...

Sienna was packing up in her office. She still had more important things to do. Having returned to her home country for some time now, she hadn’t yet sent gifts to her old ’friends’, an oversight she needed to rectify.

She picked up her backpack and was about to leave when Danielle Carter walked in.

"President Quinn!"

"What’s up?" Sienna observed Danielle’s anxious look. Could it be something had gone wrong with HR Group?

"Evan got into a fight with another kid at kindergarten, and the other parents seem unwilling to let it go."

Sienna was stunned. From childhood till now, she had never heard of Evan getting into a fight. He was not a troublemaker, and she couldn’t imagine what would make him take action.
