CHAPTER 1045: CHAPTER 1043: SIR, TIMES HAVE CHANGED

"Report to the Legion Commander, the enemy has launched an attack, we have activated the defense systems... this is impossible!"

In the eyes of the commander of the foremost battleship, their defense systems shattered in an instant, followed by an intense light that threatened to engulf everything in darkness, along with a searing heat.

"What is the situation with Battleship 50001? Battleship 50001? Switch the screen over!"

In the strategic analysis room of the main battleship, the situation of the foremost ship appeared immediately, but there was no longer any complete ship visible in the area. Nearly twenty thousand battleships had turned into countless debris and wreckage, and they still didn’t know what weapon the enemy had used.

"It’s that kind of weapon! A base city in Universe 81 was destroyed by this weapon!"

Universe 65 and Universe 81 aren’t exactly allies, but both are inclined towards external invasion and expansion, so there was a bit of a mutual understanding.

Recently, several base cities in Universe 81 and other universes suffered strikes from an unknown weapon. The power of this weapon is enormous, requiring only one strike to annihilate a base city.

The deterrent effect was akin to Level One civilization entering the nuclear weapon era; just one nuclear bomb would be enough with no defense measures. Many base cities were on edge not long ago, fearing they might be attacked by the same weapon. Unexpectedly, they encountered it today.

"Report the battle damage!"

"Report to the Legion Commander, we’ve nearly lost 20,000 battleships, only 8 left alive within the attack range!"

"Report to the Legion Commander, their fleet has already launched an attack on us, their firepower is too strong, we can’t hold them off!"

On the screen, countless beam cannon and particle cannon trajectories could be seen, followed by incessant reports of battle damage.

The enemy has over 50 million battleships, and they only sent 5 legions to intercept, a combat power disparity of more than 20 times!

"Who are these people?"

"Legion Commander, they claim to be the fleet from Universe Seven’s IPX-001. They demand we cease resistance, disarm, and stop attacking Universe 34 immediately."

"Universe Seven? Since when did those failures grasp such weaponry technology?" The Legion Commanders of Universe 65 never considered Universe Seven worth discussing, like elephants never care about what ants are doing.

"What do we do now?"

"Retreat!"

"Legion Commander, we can’t retreat anymore, we’re already surrounded by their fleet!"

...

The battleground between Universe 34 and Universe 65.

"Boom!"

Ten golden rays exploded amidst Universe 65’s fleet, and nearly 150,000 starships from three standard legions were annihilated in an instant.

Even some warriors who hadn’t disembarked were buried along with their battleships.

As Universe 65’s warriors, who were pushing Universe 34’s warriors back, turned around, they found vast portions of their fleet inexplicably vanished, and they were dumbfounded.

Not only them, but even Universe 34’s warriors were left speechless. They faced Universe 65’s fleet and only saw 10 beams streak across the sky, followed by a sea of fire.

They had never encountered such terrifying weapons in their lifetime.

Ordinary weapons reaching their limits could take down one same-tier battleship in one strike, even requiring a hit on the energy core to ensure a kill.

Destroying tens of thousands of battleships with a single shot, is this even a weapon? Not even a level nine life form could annihilate so many ships in an instant.

"What’s going on?"

"Enemy attack! It’s an enemy attack!"

Universe 65’s warriors panicked, losing their composure; they had never seen such a scenario.

"Our reinforcements have arrived!" In contrast, Universe 34’s warriors felt invigorated. After being trapped in despair, the situation turned around, filling them with seemingly endless power.

"Wipe them out!"

"I demand revenge for my comrades!"

"Damn cowards of Universe 65!"

Yet, despite this, a gap in combat power still existed. Universe 65 controlled resource departments from multiple universes, making their warriors superior both in strength and equipment. Losing the cover of over 150,000 battleships only narrowed the combat power gap somewhat.

"Zing!"

A light beam suddenly pierced the sky, directly penetrating the body of an Level Six life leader from Universe 65.

He incredulously looked at the large hole in his combat suit. Level Six life form could almost ignore any thermal weapon attack, even the mightiest ship weapon would only harm them, but this beam pierced his body.

His life force rapidly drained. Though severely wounded, killing him shouldn’t have been much of a challenge for a Level Six lifeform.

Yet in an instant, another flash, and this time, the beam vapourized his entire head.

"Who’s there?" The commander of Universe 34’s fleet engaged with the defeated Level Six lifeform scoured the vicinity for whoever aided them.

He only saw a small unit of over 2000 troops storm into the battlefield from a distance.

"We are here from Universe Seven to support you!"

"Support us? All 2000 of you?" The squad leader of that detachment chuckled wryly, facing hundreds of billions in the enemy legion, even after their fleet was struck most warriors remained outside their ships amidst chaos, minimizing personnel casualties.

Not 20,000, nor 200 million troops could alleviate the colossal pressure faced unless each among the 20,000 could kill millions, or if they were Level Six themselves, but their life detectors showed these were only Level Five.

They heard of Universe Seven’s famed Flying Tigers Squad, boasting only a few hundred members who could ruin base cities, but exterminating legions seemed far-fetched.

Yet their mindset soon shifted, these 20,000 Universe Seven warriors donned weapons never seen before; meter-long apparatuses attached to a backpack seemingly an energy pack, rapidly spewing fire, the beam ending the Level Six life was fired from one.

Formation intact, the 20,000 unleashed their Fire Qilin particle machine guns wildly against the foes, requiring a bullet to pierce a dozen or more bodies to deplete kinetic energy even when facing Level Five life forms.

Even Level Six suffered significant damage with one shot, keeping tens of billions of Level Five and Level Six at bay.

"Fools!" Several Universe 65 Level Seven, dismayed by this peculiar weapon harvesting lives, moved to engage and eradicate the 20,000 enemies.

"Prepare the ultra-strong ionic trans-beam cannon!"

Hundreds among them switched to another weapon, energy charging, focusing, firing within a second’s span.

"Boom!"

Massive beams, over two meters across, fired from the weapons, too swift even for Level Seven to evade.

Hundreds of Level Seven attempting an onslaught met gruesome ends long before nearing.

The sole surviving Level Seven, eyes bloodshot, questioned this weapon, capable of killing his own kind, as a fraction of dignity slipped away.

But the warriors holstered their ultra-strong ionic trans-beam cannons, blowing off plumes of smoke from barrels, coolly declaring, "No matter the skill, one fears a butcher’s knife, sir, times have changed!"
