I'm a spinosaurus with a System to raise a dinosaur army
Chapter 306: Mutation system
And finally, the day came when Blue showed up in front of Sobek with a computer in hand, claiming that Jocelyne had finally sent him her entire decoded DNA. Apparently she had put all her best scientists to work to get it, and she had succeeded. The spinosaurus wasted no time and watched without delay the countless letters scrolling across the screen at supersonic speed, while new mutations were continually being unlocked.
Eventually, Sobek found himself observing the now completed [Mutations system]. In front of him the boxes had all been unlocked, but several writings flashed above them.
[Caution! It is not recommended to use each mutation for more than twenty minutes. If this time is exceeded, the mutation could become permanent; since it feeds on the host's metabolism, the host would suffer from the following symptoms: hunger, aggression, madness, schizophrenia, psychopathy, and eventually die from exhaustion]
[Caution! It is not recommended to use more than three mutations at a time. An excessive amount of mutation could cause the DNA strands to break, causing a chain reaction that would lead to the collapse of the host]
[Caution! It is not recommended to use the same mutation too many times. Please wait at least one week before using it again; otherwise it could become permanent and cause the death of the guest]
"This time it's much more complicated..." Sobek thought. It was not like with mangers, armor, weapons or anti-aircraft: this time there were concrete risks in using the benefits offered by the system. "First let's see what these mutations are..."
He tried to click on a box that had a DNA strand wrapped in fire as an image.
[Fire mutation: allows the guest to acquire pyrokinesis. By condensing the surrounding air and increasing the body temperature to extreme levels, it can generate flames and start fires. It also guarantees greater heat resistance to protect internal organs]
"What? This is interesting!" Sobek thought. "Basically, if someone used this mutation could they become a dragon?". In fact, it seemed from the description that this mutation made it possible to breathe flames. He opened another box.
[Heat mutation: increases the resistance of the skin by protecting it with extremely hard and insulating scales, guaranteeing extraordinary protection from high temperatures. The host can withstand a temperature equal to that of aluminum melting]
"EEEEH!? Ok, now we understand each other!" Sobek was delighted. The melting temperature of aluminum was over 600 degrees! That mutation was great for protecting yourself in a possible atomic war!
Of course, he didn't guarantee absolute protection: if he had found himself inside the fireball, which had a temperature of millions of degrees, he would surely have died. Even the thermal impulse generated by the incandescent plasma could even exceed 5000 degrees with some bombs. "However, it is already an improvement. Maybe I can combine it with the fire mutation? Both protect against heat, so when combined they should offer even more protection. If I add to that [Reinforced skin] and [Regeneration], as well as the armor, surviving an atomic attack would no longer be impossible… provided you are far enough away. Let's see the others..."
[Water mutation: it allows to acquire the hydrocinesis. By emitting certain vibrations that are impossible for life forms to perceive, it is possible to exploit water at will, regardless of whether it is in a gaseous, liquid or solid state]
[Lightning mutation: allows you to acquire electrokinesis. By imperceptibly rubbing thousands of scales, it allows you to generate electric discharges and use them to fight]
[Air mutation: allows you to obtain aerokinesis: by exploiting imperceptible movements you can move the surrounding air, generating strong gusts of wind and even small tornadoes. The air can also be wrapped around your body to provide greater protection]
Sobek watched all the mutations eagerly. They were extraordinary! They seemed to all intents and purposes superpowers; he almost didn't believe they had a scientific basis!
No wonder the system advised against its use for more than a certain period. Rubbing the scales until lightning or heating the body until it spewed flames required an enormous amount of energy. If the mutation had become permanent, the host would have been forced into an impossible-to-satisfy metabolism which, after an initial greed and madness, would have led him to perish until he died of hunger.
However, twenty minutes was enough. Sobek also began to see the possible uses that he could achieve by combining some mutations: by combining the mutation of air with that of fire, he could create a small shock wave!
The shock waves were generated due to the super-compressed air heated by the heat of the impact; if Sobek had combined aerokinesis with pyrokinesis, he could have pressurized and heated the air until it generated a shock wave just like atomic bombs did! That could have been very useful.
Or he could combine the mutation of lightning with that of water: he was known that electricity was much more powerful if it found a vector such as water. By combining hydrokinesis with electrokinesis he could have unleashed electrical discharges no less than those generated in the super storms of the gaseous giant planets.
And it wasn't over.
[Atomic mutation: collects the energy of the surrounding atoms and allows it to condense by emitting a powerful atomic ray]
"I KNEW! I knew it was a Godzilla plagiarism!" Sobek exclaimed in his mind. "Please tell me that the others are what I think too..."
[Forest mutation: by emitting a high amount of energy and nutrients, it allows you to dramatically increase the growth of plant organisms and control them at will]
[Gamma mutation: increases endurance and strength by 800%]
[Brain mutation: allows you to emit mnemonic frequencies to acquire telepathic powers, telekinesis and mind control]
"I was right! They are all superhero powers!" Sobek was beaming. "So I can get the ability to control plants like Poison Ivy, I can become a kind of dinosaur Hulk and I can play with other people's minds like Professor Xavier... damn, that's too good!"
He continued reading for quite a while, observing all the powers that were offered to him: magnetism, geokinesis, cryokinesis, photocinesis, atmokinesis... it was wonderful! Sobek briefly considered the idea of forming a Justice League of dinosaurs!
But it was the last one that attracted him the most: the [Supreme mutation]. "Let's see what it's about…"
[Supreme mutation: using an explosive increase in energy production and cell reproduction, it allows you to increase all the attributes of the host tenfold. It also works with other mutations active at the time of use. Warning: in this case the use is not recommended for more than ten minutes, because although it does not lead to immediate collapse, the rapid energy consumption causes alterations in the mind, which could upset the guest, preventing him from returning to normal within twenty minutes and thus making the permanent mutation resulting in death of the host]
Sobek remained motionless for a moment. "Wait a damn minute... if you can multiply all the attributes by ten times... can it also increase the size!?"
Was it possible that he could really transform into Godzilla?
"I have to test it right now"
He used [Teleportation] and went as far as possible from any landmass; once he got to the open sea he dived and reopened the [Mutations system]. Obviously he didn't need to buy anything to take that test: having his [Personal mutation] of him, he could easily use all the mutations when he wanted. "It's time for a little test. Let's activate the supreme mutation!"
For a moment nothing happened, but Sobek felt something moving inside his body; then, it all exploded!
Around him the water was thrown away and the seabed seemed to approach. Sobek didn't understand anything for a moment, but he found himself out of the water even though he hadn't even moved.
If anyone had been nearby at the time, he probably would have died of fear. A giant sail appeared from under the water and then the huge body of a titanic dinosaur emerged in all its immensity.
Sobek realized that it was not the surrounding environment that had changed: it was he who had grown bigger! "System, open the interface!"

"This... this is incredible!" Sobek didn't resist: he raised his head and used the atomic mutation. A blue ray formed in his throat and was shot towards the sky, heating the air around him. "I really became Godzilla!"
He was extraordinary. He had never thought he could become so huge, but apparently there was a way! Now the of him I of him without the mutation, who was already a giant among the giants, paled in comparison! Now he could call himself a kaiju!
Fortunately, rationality returned to knock on his brain and I remind him that time was passing quickly. Without thinking twice Sobek deactivated the mutation and returned to normal size: he certainly did not want to die because of his own power.
"If this mutation increases all attributes tenfold... it means that if I combine it with the heat mutation I could withstand a temperature of 6000 degrees, more than that of the Sun! In addition, [Reinforced skin] could withstand up to 300 tons of pressure and [Regeneration] would heal wounds ten times faster. Maybe now I can really survive a nuclear attack!?"
Becoming immune to nuclear bombs was his dream, but he knew that wasn't the case. It was true, it was now super resistant to heat, but the temperature inside the fireball of an atomic bomb exceeded millions if not tens of millions of degrees. The Sun was nothing in comparison. And if he had found himself too close to the explosion, the thermal impulse could have exceeded 6000 degrees. His survival was not yet certain.
"I will have to study these mutations well... evaluating and combining them I might be able to find the right use. The more protection I can provide, the less chance I have of dying from an atomic bomb..."
As he reflected, he noticed something. A new System notification had appeared.
[Congratulations! You have completely unlocked all Secondary systems and consequently all Personal items. As a result, you just unlocked the Ultimate move]
"Uh? And what would this be? Another hidden quest?" he thought, going to check.
The interface of the Secondary systems had changed: before, all of the Secondary systems were divided into five well-defined boxes. Now, wires appeared that connected them all to a sixth square. A sixth box completely black, bearing the name [Ultimate move].
When Sobek read what it was all about, he couldn't help but open his eyes wide, both incredule and excited. "Oh, that's really cool!"
