CHAPTER 1802: A ROCK!

"Stop nagging me, you idiot!" Hye couldn’t believe how stubborn and relentless Silverlinning was in trying to reach out to him. He just received a series of long messages that he chose, like before, to ignore.

"If this rock works like how that spaceship’s shield works, then I need to use my cultivation to activate it..."

The flagship Lucas pointed at was one that came from the outer universe. It never crossed Hye’s mind before. And now he grew far more curious to learn about the reality of this rock.

"Let’s try it this way," Hye placed a hand over the rock, while not feeling any resistance or pushing force coming from it, "if I didn’t see it myself, I wouldn’t have believed the story..."

He didn’t know why this pushing force worked on Lucas and not him. He didn’t stop, tried to circle his spirit power inside his body, and waited.

"Nothing?" He didn’t feel anything unusual and ended up taking a few of his warriors who had already progressed in cultivation, "try releasing your spirit power and touch this rock."

Hye stood on the side, waited and watched while a group of twenty warriors of different races did exactly what he asked for. And yet nothing happened!

"It’s either you are a greedy motherfcker rock that wants tons of spirit power, or this method is entirely wrong..." Hye muttered after taking away the warriors he summoned, "I don’t believe this is the wrong method, then it’s a wrong approach..."

His thoughts raced, thinking about what he missed here. "Perhaps it needs a different form of spirit power, not the one I traverse in pure form inside my body, perhaps it needs a more concentrated form of spirit power..."

Hye didn’t dwell for long around this point, instead he acted. The next thing he did was to activate his arm technique, launching lots of arms that went to grab that rock and try to suck it dry.

"Oh, it worked..." Hye saw his technique’s arms getting attached over the rock like they were glued over it. Instead of feeling the same when his arms attack someone, he felt like his power was getting sucked dry.

"And yet... This isn’t just spirit power..." Hye felt something weird happening to him. He wasn’t losing his spirit power, instead he was feeling weaker with every passing second. It was as if someone was sucking his life force away, as if he was dying or something.

"This son of btch is using my spirit power technique to suck my life force away. It’s somehow like Soulers and Reapers work, but I’m sure I have way too much soul points to save my as*!"

Hye was growing weaker with every passing minute. And yet he didn’t cancel his technique, never crossed his mind to retreat. "If it’s not my spirit power, not my soul points, then it must be something similar to spirit power, the power running in this world... The stats power!"

Hye’s eyes widened when it hit him. He instantly checked his profile, and as he thought, his precious U.stat windows were all getting bottomed at an alarming rate!

"If it’s stats you want, then let me satisfy you," if this happened a few months ago, then Hye would be forced to cut his connection with this rock. But today he had more than enough to satisfy the greed of this rock, "let’s see how much you can handle!"

Hye took his heart crystal out and started madly reaping the harvest from inside. He didn’t stop there; he took tons of his bones and started to madly use them to nourish the crystal trees and make sure they produce new crystals every few minutes!

"It’s working!" Before whenever he tried to absorb U.stats he would fail. He had a ceiling that he couldn’t cross. And yet when he was absorbing the U.stat madly this time, he saw the stat metres that always got stagnant started to finally cross that line.

"For an unknown reason, I can add more stats, as if this rock made me break through level one... Is that why the Toranks were paying so much attention to it?"

Hye didn’t need to second question this, he knew how hard it was to level up. Just recalling Major and what happened to his expedition was enough proof. On top of that, it was a problem that halted the growth of many powers, even putting great limits over big powers like Toranks and Hescos.

"If any force got their hands over such a method, oof I can’t even grasp how important this is... And it fell into my lap just like that, hahaha!"

Hye finally felt more relieved about all the troubles he went through, about all the difficulties he faced, about all the price he paid so far to get this rock. With this rock, he could help lots of his forces to bypass the limits enforced by the system over the stat windows. And yet he was slightly over exaggerating this point, and very much underestimating the true potential of this rock.

As he kept pouring more U.stat crystals into his system, the rock started to show changes for the first time. Hye could see white lines appearing from the spots his technique arms were touching that rock at. And as time passed, these lines started to grow, thicken, and look like veins!

"One hour isn’t enough, and your glutinous belly grows enough to suck almost everything I got from these crystals..." Hye wanted to push the boundary beyond level two, and yet he couldn’t. The rock sucking rate expanded and took away most of the stats he was adding to his system.

"At least I broke through level one," he consoled himself by saying this, "but that also means we need to first touch a wall before trying to use the rock to break it..."

He resisted the urge to stop for a second there, replenish his stats and push his limit to level two before trying again.
