The wall stretched for a kilometer, its end out of sight.

On it was a vast mural.

The mural depicted a great battle.

Blood and flesh blurred together, corpses piled into mountains. Above, immortals stood tall in the heavens, and with just one glance, Xu Zimo could make out the presence of several Grand Emperors.

From the heavens, the Eye of the Heavenly Dao opened silently, gazing down upon the entire world.

Without even looking closely, just a rough glance was enough for Xu Zimo to feel the grandeur and brutality of this magnificent war.

“What is this?” Xia Wanqing asked.

Xu Zimo didn’t reply. He ran his hand gently along the mural, as though he could sense the emotions, joy, sorrow, rage, of the figures within it.

It was as if he had returned to that fiery, war-torn age.

After a long moment, he opened his eyes slowly.

“Interesting. This world is truly vast.”

They followed the mural to its end.

As they walked, the scenes grew more vivid.

The Heavenly Dao seemed furious. Hundreds of Grand Emperors fell one after another. Thunder and lightning split the skies, as if the world itself was collapsing.

And yet, despite the wrath of the Heavenly Dao, several figures stood unyielding against it, confronting the heavens themselves.

The mural ended there.

At its final scene, a woman appeared.

She wore a rainbow-colored robe, radiating endless resplendent light.

Her figure clashed head-on with a flood of divine force descending from the Heavenly Dao.

Xia Wanqing was just about to ask a question when, suddenly, a torrent of Heavenly Dao energy burst out from the mural, surging straight toward them.

“So it was this,” Xu Zimo said with a smile.

This was the very power he had sensed before entering the palace.

As the flood rushed forth, Xu Zimo opened the entrance to the God World and drew it inside.

“Let’s go,” he said calmly.

“What exactly was that?” Xia Wanqing asked curiously.

“Remnants left behind from an ancient war,” Xu Zimo thought aloud. “But it’s not something we can touch yet. Leave it be.”

“Then what do we say when we leave?” Xia Wanqing asked. “They’ll definitely assume we monopolized the inheritance of the Martial Heaven Emperor and the Nine Nights Immortal Sovereign. But there was never an inheritance here at all.”

“Just tell them the truth,” Xu Zimo said. “With me here, nothing will happen.”

“I’m worried about the Thousand-Ox Dao Court,” Xia Wanqing said with concern. “From what I’ve heard, the Hidden Ox Emperor still lives.”

“Unlike Martial Heaven, Thousand-Ox Dao Court’s strength comes partly from having their own Grand Emperor in residence,” she explained.

“If it were a Saint Sovereign, I might consider it. But a Grand Emperor… forget it,” Xu Zimo shook his head. “Just say there was no inheritance, only that the Grand Emperor and the Immortal Sovereign once stayed here briefly. As for the palace itself, don’t mention it.”

“I understand,” Xia Wanqing nodded obediently.

Before leaving, Xu Zimo turned back, gazing at the palace.

He wondered if, one day, he might end up with the same fate as the palace’s master.

Though he hadn’t gained any treasure this trip, the information he had obtained was far more valuable.

The void before them began to ripple, and the two figures stepped out from the Particle World.

Before leaving completely, Xu Zimo waved his hand and exiled the Particle World into the void.

To exile a world meant casting it adrift into the vast emptiness.

The void was everywhere, and time and space were the most fundamental components of all existence.

Perhaps one day this little world would appear elsewhere, or perhaps it would be lost forever.

Xu Zimo simply didn’t want anyone disturbing its peace.

After all, the palace’s master shared the same goal as he did, they were kindred spirits, even if strangers.

No sooner had they stepped out of the Particle World than Xu Zimo felt countless gazes fall upon him.

Star River and Breaking Dawn were both present.

So too was Thousand-Ox Dao Court, but this time, alongside the three usual representatives, stood an additional elder.

“So they went to fetch reinforcements,” Xu Zimo said with a faint smile.

This elder’s aura was immense, at the very peak of the Empyrean Meridian, perhaps even stronger.

He wore a gray robe, his eyes carrying a subtle pressure.

Yet when he looked at Xu Zimo, his brows furrowed, he couldn’t see through him.

“Master Xu, Lady Xia, where is the inheritance?” the Star River Emperor was the first to ask.

After all, this matter concerned the future of the Star River God-Dynasty.

And in a sense, Xu Zimo and Xia Wanqing were representing them here.

“There was no inheritance. Only a resting place of the ancestors,” Xia Wanqing replied.

“Is that so? Then I’ll have to see for myself,” the Star River Emperor said.

“The Particle World has already vanished. If the Star River Emperor can still find it, I won’t object,” Xu Zimo answered.

“Master Xu, don’t you think you’re being excessive?” the Star River Emperor said with narrowed eyes. “That Particle World was discovered together, and it lies within Dao Court’s territory. Do you truly intend to swallow the inheritance alone?”

“I already said there was no inheritance. Can’t you understand plain words?” Xu Zimo retorted.

“Then allow us to search your body-” the Star River Emperor began, but before he could finish, Xu Zimo’s gaze swept over him.

The Emperor coughed up blood violently, collapsing to the ground.

“Master Xu, even if you’re strong, can you really be stronger than Dao Court itself?” the Star River Emperor gritted his teeth, forcing himself back to his feet.

He was scheming.

With Dao Court backing him, if he performed well here, perhaps when Dao Court absorbed the two empires, his side would be favored.

“This young master,” just then, the elder from Thousand-Ox Dao Court stepped forward. “Our Dao Court has ties with Martial Heaven, we have no wish to make things difficult for you. Hand over the inheritance, and nothing will have happened here. How about it?”

Seeing Xu Zimo being hounded, Xia Wanqing grew indignant.

She stepped forward.

“We already told you, there is no inheritance. No matter how you pressure us, we cannot hand over something that doesn’t exist. If you truly refuse to let this go, then we’ll fight to the death!”

“You, Martial Heaven, are qualified to fight us to the death?” Xiao Buhui sneered.

Xia Wanqing glared at him. Slowly, she pulled out the scroll left behind by the Martial Heaven Emperor.

The instant it unfurled, imperial will surged into the heavens.

From within the painting, a figure strode forth, tearing through the sky.

Brilliant radiance of a Grand Emperor spread endlessly.

“It’s the Martial Heaven Emperor!” the Star River Emperor gasped. “And you still say you didn’t obtain an inheritance?”

“All we received was a painting, nothing else,” Xia Wanqing explained.

But as the imperial will filled the air, the Dao Court elder’s expression shifted.

Though it was only a painting, it already made him feel threatened.

The might of a Grand Emperor was truly terrifying.

His expression flickered uncertainly, then he let out a quiet laugh.
