Chapter 35: Earthlings Panic

Originally, the members of the Monster Special Attack Team who were still wrapping up matters related to the Nakel aliens suddenly felt a stirring in their hearts and turned their gaze toward the sky.

This time, the Nakel aliens caused quite a commotion. Previously, they had robbed liquefied gunpowder — a weapon capable of blowing up half of Yingzhou at any moment. This weapon was developed to counter monsters… yet no one had expected things to escalate like this.

Meanwhile, there were quite a few Nakel aliens on Earth too. Their strength wasn’t very great — not much stronger than humans. Even though they could grow gigantic, they were not overwhelmingly powerful.

These were the problems Earth currently needed to solve.

They saw the Ultraman appear once again in the sky, which left them puzzled. Why had Ultraman shown up again? Could it be that a monster had appeared?

From Mu Yang’s hand, a beam of light shot out, and an image appeared in the sky — a scene from beyond the solar system, where countless spaceships were arrayed.

This made the Earthlings tremble with fear. Damn, how terrifying could it get?

The scene shifted again, showing battle scenes — Ultraman was already fighting evil aliens and monsters.

Humans instantly felt helpless. They realized their own weakness. In fact, their knowledge of Ultraman was limited; only five Ultramen had ever appeared on Earth. But looking at this scene, there were literally thousands upon thousands of Ultramen.

If one Ultraman was manageable, then facing this many was another matter entirely… better not even try.

This display also quieted those humans who had been harboring small schemes; they confirmed through their eyes that this was a race not to be provoked. Just how many Ultramen were there?

If you angered one, who knew how many Ultramen would come looking for trouble?

At the same time, the Ultraman conspiracy theories collapsed. Look at all these Ultramen — why bother with conspiracies or schemes? If they wanted to do something, humans would be powerless to stop them.

Is this what a cosmic war looks like?

Earthlings felt great unease but also gratitude for Ultraman’s efforts on their behalf.

Humans truly were not strong enough yet.

Seeing their reactions, Mu Yang smiled inwardly. He knew humans best, and he saw through their thoughts clearly.

Under external pressure, humans behaved obediently. Perhaps one day there might be an “Indian” incident — good intentions helping humans but ending in betrayal? Ultraman would not allow that.

At least not for tens of thousands of years!

The scenes Mu Yang broadcast shocked all humans greatly, and they continuously contributed Shock Value to him.

Perhaps one human alone could only provide a little Shock Value, but combined across all humanity, it was substantial.

“What is Mu Yang trying to do?” Shō Jūki watched all this with a mix of amusement and disbelief but did not stop it. They had originally planned not to let humans know the truth — sometimes knowing too much was bad, and humans might resort to any means for power.

But now, thinking again, was it really so? If humans didn’t know, would they not act this way anyway?

Monsters and alien threats were tremendous pressure on humans, yet they still had to do what they must.

Perhaps this was better: humans had the right to know the truth.

Also, future cooperation between Ultraman and humans would be much easier.

Mu Yang looked at the Shock Value he had received and quietly sighed. Indeed, there was strength in numbers. This time he transmitted the images worldwide — billions of people continuously providing Shock Value. This was quite a windfall.

It seemed he must never underestimate these “leeks” again — sometimes it was best to harvest them properly!

“Humans, I hope one day you can fight alongside us to resist the darkness!” With that, Mu Yang transformed into a beam of light and rushed into space.

Everyone knew what he was going to do: fight in the cosmos!

Though this Ultraman’s style was different from others, they still trusted his honour as an Ultraman.

At this moment, Mu Yang had no idea Earth had become a chaotic mess. Some things humans had already thought of but dared not face, yet Mu Yang’s actions shattered their last sliver of wishful thinking.

He went into outer space, where energy that had been sparse began rapidly restoring. For some reason, energy consumption during battles on Earth was much higher than in space, and it was difficult to draw power from the environment.

Even though Mu Yang had a great connection to this planet, Earth itself was not very suitable for Ultramen.

His recovery was swift; in the blink of an eye, he absorbed a great deal of energy, replenished his battle losses, and headed toward the outskirts of the solar system.
