CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: A LOST BEAUTY IN THE TECH PARK

Alex, looking neat in his security uniform, went back to the booth at Mumbai Tech Park.

He stole a glance at the time. Work hours had just begun. There weren’t many people entering or exiting yet.

Perfect.

So...

He reached into his pocket silently for his phone.

Game on!

Ananya roamed aimlessly within the Tech Park.

Unlike Riya’s buzzing energy, Ananya had a gentler charm. Adorable, cute, and without a doubt, a first-class beauty.

She had recently joined an advertisement company here. She had her interview yesterday, today was her first day of work.

But there was one huge problem.

Ananya’s directional sense was... non-existent. She is suffering from DTD.

If she hadn’t gone to a place at least ten times, she was sure to lose her way.

Going her own home even after a holiday, sometimes, she could lose her way.

And now, on her first day at work she was totally lost within the maze like Tech Park.

Her cute Loli like face was contorted in confusion and shame.

"What do I do now? There are just ten minutes to go before work begins! If I’m late on my first day, won’t my co-workers consider me irresponsible and unrealible?"

She circled nervously. Dozens of identical buildings towered around her. Offices, corporate suites, all indistinguishable from one another.

One wrong turn, two wrong turns... and she was nearly dizzy.

"I know the company is supposed to be just up ahead right? Turn left and—huh? Why do they have a restroom here?"

"Perhaps it’s that way? No... I think I passed by this location already!"

"That’s certainly the spot... wait, how on earth did I get here again?"

"Ahhh, I’m lost! Who can help guide me?"

She was almost at the verge of tears.

She stamped her foot softly, cheeks puffed out.

"I’m such a directionally challenged person! I can’t even locate my own company!"

She had been lost for the last half an hour. Not only had she failed to locate her company, she did not even know where she herself was anymore.

"I actually got lost... on my first day, Oh God!"

Having the completely bewildered look on her face, Ananya almost laughed out through the tears. She wasn’t stupid—she did have a degree, after all.

So why did she have to suffer from her sense of direction every time?

On her first day at work, she was almost crying due to her own stupidity.

At this time, a cleaning lady just walked by, and Ananya quickly asked with a shred of embarrassment on her face, "Excuse me... do you know where the company that I work for is?"

The cleaning lady blinked in puzzlement. Here was Mumbai’s largest Tech Park, where there were hundreds of companies scattered across dozens of buildings that looked exactly the same.

How could she possibly identify which one Ananya worked for? She gave Ananya a glance that unmistakably said—girl, are you serious?

That glance alone sent the innocent Ananya retreating at once, her courage melting away like ice in the sun.

She hung her head, not having the nerve to say another thing, and strayed off again, going round and round aimlessly like an abandoned puppy.

After walking around in circles a few more times, Ananya finally laid eyes on a young man within the security booth. He was in security uniform, reclining lazily with his face lit up playing a game on his phone—none other than Alex.

Her eyes widened as if she had just seen a lifesaver! Without delay, she walked over towards the booth, tapping softly on the glass door.

"Hi, security officer... I’m Ananya, I’m an employee here in this Tech Park but I’m an absolutely mental person. Bah, bah—no, that wasn’t right!" She reddened, struggling for words. "I mean... I’m Ananya, and it seems I’m lost. Could you please lead me to my company?"

Alex raised his head, his game momentarily forgotten, and was instantly shocked.

Huh? Did this cute girl just said she got lost within her own workplace? Wasn’t this the very embodiment of the legendary stunning but completely clueless beauty?

His eyes swept across her body automatically, and his face grew complex. He had always believed Riya’s beauty to be so captivating that it left most men tongue-tied—but next to the girl in front of him, Riya now looked less attractive.

Riya’s physique could be described as perfectly proportioned, classy but not overwhelming, slender and comfortable to hold in one’s hand.

But this girl... her figure lay on a completely different battlefield, brimming with some frantic sort of attraction that could not be resisted.

Alex coughed softly, compelling himself to clear his head. Then he asked patiently with a soft, magnetic voice that held the strangely reassuring warmth of concern, "Your company—what’s the name? Tell me, and I’ll show you the way."

Ananya’s confused face lit up, and she uttered the name of the company hastily.

"So that’s the one," Alex nodded with awareness. "I know it."

Alex whipped out his phone, searched for the company’s location quickly, and in seconds understood the way. He indicated in the direction of the northeast and patiently explained, "Go straight that way, pass five buildings, and then turn right. Cross two intersections, then proceed until you’ve passed two more buildings. You will see a building with a stone outside—enter there, ride the elevator, and your office is on the sixteenth floor."

"Okay, thanks!" Ananya nodded obediently, reciting the instructions to herself like a student memorizing study notes. To be doubly careful, she even requested Alex’s phone number—just in case.

But five minutes later....

Alex’s phone rang. He answered, and before he could even get a word out, a gentle, almost sobbing voice wafted through the receiver.

"Um... Security brother, I... I got lost again..."

Alex look stunned, then massaged his forehead.

"Seriously?"

He had explained it all so plainly, even going step by step, but this girl still had managed to get lost.

At the other end, Ananya was nearly in tears. "Security brother, My company work is starting in five minutes’ time. I’m actually going to be late, but I still haven’t located my company. Please help!!"

Alex sighed heavily. "Okay. Don’t budge. Just remain exactly where you are. I’ll go get you and take you there myself."

He had come across people with bad sense directions previously, but this was new.

He had really opened his eyes today.

"Alright, thank you, security bro. I’ll be here waiting for you." Ananya’s tone relaxed in relief.

When the call ended, she clutched her phone against her chest, a faint warmth rising in her heart. This security guard is how nice, he was patient, reliable, and gentle in a way that made her feel strangely reassured. What a kind person ...
