CHAPTER 76: CHAPTER 76 : SHIV’S TRUMP CARD (BONUS CHAPTER)
"I am their classmate, give me a ride. It’s on your way anyway, so just treat it as a favor to me," Shiv said, pretending to sound pitiful and helpless.
Priyanshi frowned at that clearly wanting to kick him out, but Navya smiled lightly.
"We are classmates after all, so just let him ride along."
Left without a choice, Priyanshi reluctantly agreed.
Sitting at the backside of the car were Navya and Shiv and in front were Alex on the driver seat and Priyanshi beside him
Only when Shiv sat beside Navya that he seem to feel that Navya too is not lacking anywhere in any department, perfect bust, hourglass figure truly beautiful.
Shiv smirked to himself. If he could win her over too, that would be killing two birds with one stone.
"Having money means having the best of both worlds!" Shiv thought in his heart.
Ever since realizing how wealthy his family was, his arrogance had grown to the peak.
He no longer saw himself equal to others.
Even when inside the car, Shiv glanced around at the Volkswagen Passat with disdain.
He sneered inwardly, looking down on it. In his eyes, this shabby car couldn’t compare to his luxurious Mercedes.
With a smug smile, Shiv leaned forward.
"Priyanshi, why settle for this little car when my Mercedes is worth hundreds of thousands?
It has everything from luxury trim, high-end sound system to unmatched comfort!"
He went on and on, boasting endlessly about his Mercedes.
But Priyanshi and Navya were not listening to him at all.
Their eyes were entirely fixed on Alex, who was on the wheel.
The driver’s composure and striking looks made Shiv instantly feel invisible. His chest began to burn with humiliation.
"Damn it! Why won’t they listen to me?" he cursed silently.
Throughout the journey, Navya gazed at Alex like a starstruck fan.
Earlier, from a distance at the market, she had thought he had a good face. Now, seeing him up close she could not stop herself from being captivated by it.
In that moment, Navya realized Priyanshi had not been exaggerating at all.
This guy didn’t look like a normal man at all although this car is not expensive as much as Shiv but still it is something that must be outside the reach of the normal security guy.
But one thing is surely surprising even in his plain security uniform, Alex was unbelievably handsome.
"You’re so handsome, why would you work as a security guard?"
Navya leaned over, genuinely curious about it, with a face like that surely he must have received several invitation to be model atleast by now.
Alex gave a faint smile at her.
"Every job has its worth. No job is big or small and it doesn’t make me any less."
Navya nodded at him, surprised with his frankness to life.
"You’re so good-looking and charming. No wonder Priyanshi always lets you sign for her packages."
Without hesitation, Navya exposed his friend’s little secret.
Priyanshi who has been sulking due to Shiv, after hearing that her little secret is being exposed suddenly found her cheeks flushed red.
She looked embarrassed, unsure how to respond.
——-
In the back seat, Shiv’s expression changed instantly.
Is this fucking true?
All this time that he had been chasing Priyanshi, and yet she found this security guard attractive?
A surge of unease struck him.
Soon It turned into jealousy inside Shiv.
I’m the captain of my university’s basketball team. My family is wealthy, I’m tall and handsome... yet how did I lose to a security guard driving an old Volkswagen?
The comparison stung at him.
But the moment wasn’t over.
To his shock, Priyanshi pulled out a small box of cherries, offering it to Alex.
"These are for you."
She waited for the traffic lights to turn green, her eyes stealing glances at him
"Thank you."
Alex accepted with another easy smile.
Shiv stared at the exchange, clearly he misunderstood the earlier exchange,
Oh god what the hell is I am seeing, Did Priyanshi just gave him cherries? Imported ones at that?
That wasn’t something casual friends did. His stomach turned.
His mind spiraled into the uncharted territories.
If this continues, won’t they be handing out wedding invitations soon?
How can he stomach such a audacity.
Shiv felt conflicted and insecure about his future.
He had devoted four years chasing after her, yet she gave her love to another man?
And not just any man.
A security guard.
His pride boiled into fury.
"I’ve wasted years chasing her, and she chooses him? Import
ed cherries? My eyes must be blind... I feel sick."
Shiv jealousy consumed him.
Alex soon transferred a gift hamper of two hundred to Priyanshi, after all it is rude to give money between true friends.
"This is for you," he said with a calm smile.
"Hehe... thank you."
Priyanshi laughed softly, her face carrying a hint of shyness as she accepted the gift hamper.
What Shiv did not know, however, was that this was simply the money that Alex have to return to her for buying his cherries instead of him.
To Shiv, though, the sight of her smiling so naturally while receiving a gift from another man was like a sharp knife twisting inside his chest.
His face tightened, his eyes almost turning red from jealousy as he convinced himself that there was no way their relationship was normal.
Shiv gritted his teeth in pure hatred, barely holding back his emotions.
"No," he thought bitterly to himself, "I absolutely cannot lose to a security guard. There is no way I will allow it happen."
He straightened his back, forcing a calm expression as he decided to play his strongest card which he had hidden for so long.
The one he was sure that will surely attract their attention.
Taking a deep breath, he spoke loudly enough for everyone to hear:
"By the way, are you both interested in becoming full-time employees at the Khapar Law Firm Office?"
