I Sell Bottled Water for Gold in Another World!
Chapter 93 93: $ 85,000 Compromise!
"You are just a security guard, what kind of car can you possibly drive?"
The middle-aged woman sneered with clear contempt in her eyes. "My son just scratched your car, and you're making such a fuss? You even stoop so low to raise your hand against a child over this? You're too petty."
She jabbed her finger at Alex, her eyes full of ridicule.
In her mind, a lowly security guard couldn't own anything expensive.
Even if his car was scratched, the most he could demand was a couple of hundred dollars. Who couldn't afford that?
"Unbelievably shameless, I have not seen anyone as brazen as her," someone in the crowd couldn't help but say. "It's her son who caused the trouble at first, and yet she dared to blame others? Arrogant to the core!"
"Exactly, And she still has the nerve to act so high and mighty."
"I bet she is still thinking that she is going to be get away with it, but how laughable is that she can't even judge how expensive the car might be."
"Tch, tch… blind woman doesn't even recognize the Bentley logo, there is definitely going to be a good show to watch."
Passersby exchanged knowing looks, gossiping as they watched the scene unfold.
It was obvious the woman had no idea what car she was dealing with otherwise she would never have spoken so arrogantly.
"What kind of car is this anyway?" the woman demanded impatiently before immediately saying. "Leave it; don't tell me just tell me, how much money do you want? Name your price already. Stop wasting my precious time."
Over the past year, her husband had struck it rich running a jewelry shop in the city.
They had even moved into a bigger flat in the city, and ever since then, she began carrying herself with the air of superiority.
Alex simply look up and down with contempt at her and then said flatly,"I want you to pay for the damage to my car."
"Pay for it?" she scoffed. "How much are we talking about? Say it—I do not believe I cannot afford it.
Anyway, As a security guard how much you can even pay for a car?"
Her tone grew sharper and sharper. "I can agree to give you money, but you will have apologize for hitting my son.
He's just a child, and yet you dared to hurt him you have to apologise."
She folded her arms, brimming with false confidence at her wealth.
In her mind, at most the car would be worth a few thousand dollars, maybe tens of thousands.
A repaint? A few hundred dollars at best.
What couldn't she afford after she had such a rich husband?
"Hurry up and say the number," she snapped. "I don't have all day."
Alex's expression didn't change at all he simply took out his QR code for her to pay. "Repainting the car and replacing the badge will cost about $85,000."
"Eighty-five thousand?!" The woman froze at the number her face suddenly turn pale.
Then she exploded. "Impossible! You're trying to scam me!"
Just then, a car enthusiast among the crowd who couldn't stand the farce anymore stepped forward and eagerly explained :
"This isn't just any car Madam.
It's a Bentley Continental GT, a limited Le Mans edition with a W12 engine.
Only twenty exist worldwide. In fact, there are only two in India one belongs to the richest man in the country, and the other is right here in front of you."
He pointed at the gleaming luxury vehicle of Alex.
"Bentley's paint is so special that even a single scratch means the entire car has to be repainted.
For a regular Bentley, that costs about $28,000. But since this is a limited edition, the paint has to be custom-ordered, and the cost doubles to around $56,000 at the very least.
Then there's the emblem your son ripped off that alone costs around $28,000. So yes, $85,000 in total is not a exaggerating figure at all even generous, if I were to be in place of him I will surely ask at very least of $150,000. His figure is very reasonable."
Gasps rippled through the crowd.
They had all known the car was a Bentley, but they assumed repairs would be maybe around $10,000 or $20,000 at most. None of them expected the bill to skyrocket to $85,000.
And when they thought back to how the woman had been insulting Alex from the beginning, cursing him while defending her bratty son instead of reprimanding his son, they couldn't help but shake their heads.
Serves her right for being too arrogant!
Her child destroyed someone else's car, and instead of apologizing, she scolded the owner. Now the whole incident is big joke on her.
"It actually costs $85,000."
Hearing that sky-high price, the middle-aged woman froze completely unable to believe this outcome her face was completely pale and her hands continued to tremble.
$85,000.
Her husband had spent his entire life to barely save himself less than $150,000, and more than half of it is going to be smoke in an instant.
Thinking of this, she went completely blank, unable to say a word.
The arrogance and superiority she had carried just moments ago vanished without a trace.
"Serves you right," muttered one of the onlookers.
"Exactly. If she should have apologised earlier, the rich man might not even demand compensation for it."
"You brought this on yourself!" another whispered.
The bystanders nodded and exchanged glances, silently applauding in their minds. There was simply no sympathy left for the woman.
Just moments ago, she had walked around arrogantly looking down on the security guard and everyone else, acting like everyone is beneath her, as if everything her precious son did was perfect and beyond them.
Now, seeing her stunned and powerless in her place, the crowd felt it was nothing less than poetic justice.
