I've Got A Mana Processor In A Magic World
Chapter 139: Spell Memory Sizes
CHAPTER 139: SPELL MEMORY SIZES
Now all that Zephyr was doing was checking how much memory each spell used up.
He’d just tried it out with his fire arrow spell and found that from that 101 KB of memory, the whole spell took up 39KB of memory.
That meant he could save two fire arrow spells within his memory at one time and they could be cast repeatedly and indefinitely, as long as mana was available.
"Damn..." Zephyr whispered to himself as he watched the fire arrow spells blink in and out of existence however he liked. On his left. Above him. By his right...
He just kept playing around with it.
"This is just too broken on so many levels..." Zephyr muttered in awe.
Aside from the fact that he could spam the two fire spells consecutively, bombarding whichever opponent he was up against with a constant barrage of fire arrows, he also realized he didn’t actually have to conjure the spell right next to himself.
The spells could be conjured anywhere around him as long as it was within 10 feet (3m).
That was his effective range.
The logic being that the closer it was to him within this range, the lesser the strain on his mind as he executed the saved spell. Any more than 10 feet, and he’d have trouble maintaining control because of the strain on his mind.
It could still appear beyond that, but he’d barely have any control over it and his connection would get cut off, causing the spell to sputter out of existence.
...But still, 10ft!
Zephyr stood with a weird expression on his face, still doubtful about the mechanics of the whole thing.
He imagined what would happen if an opponent had a barrier set up within his effective range... it would essentially be useless to him. He could just blink the spell right inside their barrier...
And if he decided to take things even further... What would happen if he mentally visualized the space inside their heads instead...?
Zephyr shook his head, catching himself as his train of thought went down that dark path. That was way too sinister.
’But would it work...?’ he couldn’t help but think. ’Could I just cook people’s brains within my effective range if I want?’ he shuddered. ’No, no, no. There has to be some kind of limit or something...’
He really doubted it was going to be that easy... but he also couldn’t deny that he was eager to try it out at some point. If it actually worked... he was going to be a demon in close range fights.
The Brain Cooker...
Zephyr could already envision the kind of nicknames he’d get if he went down that path.
He put the thought away with a sigh, that was a curiosity he was going to satisfy at some later point.
For now, he focused back on testing the spells to figure out how much memory they all took.
He cleared the previous fire arrow spells from his register memory and moved on to other basic spells—utility spells: like the basic fire spell, basic water spell, air...
For the basic earth spells, he’d need to prepare a piece of earth beforehand for the spell to have its effect instantly.
And all together, the four basic spells took just 40KB.
’Aegis, are you recording this?’ Zephyr sent a thought.
Recording data and creating status sheet...
’Good.’ Zephyr moved on to his other spells, clearing and saving each time until he’d tested all his most used spells.
For starters, his most dangerous spell, the compressed fire spell, couldn’t be saved in memory because of the requirements... at least at full power.
A fully powered, fully charged compressed fire spell was a whooping 205KB, more than double Zephyr’s memory size.
So even if he wanted to fit the whole thing, he couldn’t. The only thing he could do was reduce the power to fit his memory size.
And doing that would only net him 49% of max compressed fire spell power.
’Aegis, pull up the whole status panel for me.’ Zephyr prompted. He needed to peruse the whole thing at once now.

Zephyr looked through the status sheet that was displayed in his view and mentally thanked Aegis for breaking it down in a concise manner. He had way more variations of spells at this point, but Aegis had simply displayed the main spells the others were a spin off of.
All of the spells he had were thankfully under the 101KB mark, aside from the compressed fire spell. So all he had to do now was figure out the best spell combinations to maximize his memory use.

To those that have been doing these so far, thanks a lot. It really helps my book.
Cheers
