CHAPTER 101: SHOPPING AND A SPIN

~AMBROSE’S POV~

Being with her was like nothing else. Her touch was toxifying. Her taste was addicting. She was like fresh squeezed lemonade on a hot summer day.

"Let’s get you some coffee before the grumpy has time to settle in." I said to her walking over to the bathroom cabinet and grabbing a towel to wipe up my mess on the floor.

"But your bed, it’s so soft." She whimpered like a sad child.

"Our bed" I corrected her.

Her cheeks turned red. Embarrassment.

"You’re blushing." I chuckled lightly.

"I’m not blushing, you are!" She shot back her faced scrunched with disapproval.

And moon be damn she was so cute like this.

"Shut up. Go away." She turned away from me. And this only made me laugh a little harder.

I haven’t felt this way in a long time. Laughed like this. I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so light.

"Okay, I’ll get us coffee, but you better be out of bed and getting dressed by the time I get back, or I’ll bend you over my desk and spank you." I teased, though my voice was dripping with seduction.

She turned beat red and pulled the covers over her face.

I turned and just as I was about to leave I turned to her and smirked.

She was flustered.

Still so shy and weary with affection. She was pure, not afraid, just cautious. She’s lived so much of her life in survival mode. Like me, I guess. It’s a hard habit to break.

We will break it, show her, she doesn’t just have to survive, she can also lean back and enjoy the stars without worry and with only wonder.

Onyx insisted, stirring from whatever part of my mind he hangs out in.

When did you get so poetic and sentimental, what are you just a giant fluff ball now? I teased him.

I’m a puddle of puppy when it comes to our mate.

I literally can’t with you anymore. Who even are you? He has become such a drama queen it’s ridiculous, you’d never guess he’s an alpha wolf.

What are we going to spoil her with today? Onyx asked, clearly too proud of himself. Just school supplies and things for that little fox of hers.

"Emalea, I would like it if you accompanied us on an outing, please change out of your servants close into something more... casual... I’ll see you in my room in 25 minutes." I spoke directly to her in the channel.

"Understood, Alpha." Emalea responded in the channel instantly.

I wanted to stop at the dress shop and speak with the designer about a dress for Odette for the Eclipse Ball. I needed my future Luna to have a dress that would outshine the moon goddess herself.

I made my way to the kitchen, the blonde servant girl was there cleaning vegetables and the dark haired chef, I don’t know their names.

When I enter the kitchen, they stopped dead in their tracks. The chef accidentally dropped his spoon and the blonde knocked over some peppers trying to bow quickly.

"Alpha King." They said in almost rehearsed unison bowing low to me. I stood tall and walked past them, nodding with acknowledgement.

"Maid, where’s the stuff to make a latte?" I asked.

"Your highness, I can make it, you don’t have to serve yourself." The blonde said stepping over to me.

"Do you think your alpha king can’t handle something as simple as coffee?" I growled warning her to watch it.

"Not at all, my apologies, Alpha King Ambrose. I will bring you the things needed for making a latte and leave you too it." She never lifted her head to me and moved steadily around the kitchen. She didn’t even have to look up to know where everything was. She was exceptionally familiar with this place.

I let her gather the ingredients, ground expresso, the cream, cane sugar, and chocolate syrup. She brought them to a station in a different part of the kitchen. On a bar tucked off, there was shelves of cups and an automatic coffee maker, a manual expresso maker, a small single burner stove, and a copper kettle.

She placed the ingredients on the countertop and started to pull filters and a glass funnel from the shelf. She filled the kettle with water. And placed it on the burner.

"Here you go your highness, when the waters done, just pour it into the funnel with the ground expresso in a circular motion, slowly. If it pleases you, my alpha king, I will take my leave and return to my duties." She backed away and walked back over to where she was and picked the peppers she dropped off the floor.

I looked over and for the first time in my life I was actually making a cup of coffee.

I moved through the fluid motions, heating the water, pouring it slowly, removing the small glass bottle under the funnel and pouring it into a cup, stirring in sugar and syrup. I deeply inhale the scent of my hard work, pleased with my efforts I left the kitchen without a word.

When I returned Odette was sitting at the vanity with her eyes closed, humming, and combing her long white waves. Her shined like moonlight, it was captivating. I stood frozen in the doorway marveling at my woman. The sound of her singing voice was heavenly. Wrapping me a warmth that could melt even the coldest ice.

"Are you just going to stand there, or are you going to come in?" She never once opened her eyes or stopped combing through her hair.

Her sarcasm dragged me from my daze, and I stepped in the room.

"Your coffee milady, I made it myself."

She stopped combing and open her eyes at me. Crimson orbs starred back in mine. The light of the vanity capturing their brilliance.

"You made me coffee, like with your own two hands?" She narrowed her questioning eyes at me, skeptical of the truth.

"On my honor, with my own two hands." I teased.

"Yeah, okay." She said taking the coffee from me.

She brought it to her pink lips and took a sip. Her eyes shot up to mine in shock.

"You made this?" She asked in disbelief.

"Why, is it that good, you doubt my competency now?" I smirked.

"It’s good, but don’t get too cocky." She took another sip and asked "When do we leave?"

"As soon as you tell me you’re ready." I hadn’t told her Emalea was coming, figured it would be a good surprise.

"I just need my coat and boots." She left the vanity and went for the closet, collecting a thick black coat and warm black boots. She had black pants and a warm silver sweater that complimented her hair perfectly.

The little fox trotted behind her like a giddy child. It was kinda cute, I’ll give it that.

"Let’s go." She said grabbing her bag.

Just as we opened the door Emalea stood ready to knock.

"Hi!" She smiled sweetly and waved at Odette like they were lifelong best friends.

"Wow you look so different in people clothing, why are you wearing people clothing?" She asked stepping back appreciating the look of her friend.

Emalea was a pretty girl, dressed like a humble girl from the country. A stark contrast to the elegant fierce fire that stood with her.

They were so different yet, they matched each other perfectly.

I was happy seeing her smile like that.

"I’m coming with you. To go shopping!" Emalea said excitedly.

We leave for the garage, and I decided to drive so I walked them up to one of the black Audi’s that we have in abundance.

"You’re driving?" Odette asked me.

"Is that a problem?" I joked.

"Nope, not at all." She coughed; that’s right she’s never been in the car with me. Only th back of a snowmobile.

I smiled, something sinister and childish bloomed in my mind.

This would be fun.

Instead of picking the Audi, I picked the Nissan Skyline.

I was going to take her on a spin.

Opening the door for her she climbed in the front passenger seat, Emalea taking the back seat.

"Sports car?" She raised her ever questioning brow at me.

"Yeah, sports car, let’s go with that." I chuckled.

Pressing the button the garage door opened. I looked over to her and smiled. Shifting into gear, I pressed down hard on the gas, the tires burned as the car shot out from the garage. There was a sharp turn out before we hit the front gates that lead out. I rip the Ebrake, the back tires screech and the car drifts sideways, the smell of smoke and burning rubber filled the inside of the car.

Both girls screamed, but Odette’s, hers was have scream half laugh.

She was having fun.

But Emalea was freaking out. I laughed internally; the two women were very different. Realigned, I threw the Ebrake back down shifting into 2nd and sped off toward the front gate. Pressing another button on my wheel, the gates opened. I barely squeezed by between the two iron gates swinging slowly open.

Driving through the mountains was the best route down in a Skyline. The winds and turns, they were perfect for this car.

Fast.

Odette was holding on to the ’oh shit’ bar at the room with each drifted turn down the mountain. Gas, Shift down, Ebrake, drift, shift up, gas. Repeat. We drove down the whole mountain like this. She was screaming and crying so much and so loud tears were pouring from her eyes.

Surprisingly the fox sat still, unmoved by the shifting and sliding of the car.

In fact, it seemed to be enjoying itself as it looked out the window. What an odd creature. I’m going to have to ask her more about this little thing in my backseat.

When we get down the mountain Emalea is in the back seat shaking like a leaf, the fox as calm as ever, and Odette was laughing hysterically.

"You call that driving!" Emalea yelled at from my backseat.

"No, I call that drifting."
