***Author’s Note: My bad you guys, I had to rewrite this Chapter because my computer battery died when I was out and about and not connected to wifi, so I lost the Chapter, but didn’t know until this morning. Sorry***
~ODETTE’S POV~
I chuckled.
I instantly busted out in a fit of real laughter. Doubling over clutching my stomach.
"There has to be something, I’m a pureblood and I don’t have a wolf, so there’s no alpha aura, and I’m no goddess, I look too much like my parents to deny that fact."
"Feel what?" I didn’t understand.
"You did what to a woman, a princess at that?"
"I don’t know if it’s enough to stop a war, but I know it’s enough to win one." She had a threatening undertone, and it honestly offended me, slightly.
Ambrose was smiling.
"Odette is fine now, as far as we know, but that’s why we have to see the healer, for a checkup. And a witch for answers." Ambrose offered limited information. I wondered why he didn’t mention the nightmare and its effects to her. Was it that he wanted to avoid unnecessary worry?
She ran at him and Ambrose’s eyes practically popped out of his head as he jetted away. I couldn’t handle it; I dropped my knees hitting the floor.
Surprisingly, she submitted quickly, quicker than I expected her. I didn’t really know how to react when she bowed her head to me, keeping her eyes down. I looked to Ambrose and he looked just as shocked, but not at her reaction, but at me.
"You’re absolutely right, and that’s why they say I’m like my father, I’m not usually this friendly, to tell you the truth, I usually bite." I chuckled at my own truth.
"Good. You idiot." she yelled standing back up and dusting herself off.
And ever since Ambrose tool that collar off me, I’ve felt spike after spike of energy surge through me.
But with Ambrose, I can just be me.
"We’ll start lessons tomorrow." Ursula informed, more than asked.
)
A real punchable smirk, on a real punchable face.
I noticed the guards staring their mouths almost gaping in shock seeing their alpha king smiling like that, let alone laughing and letting someone chase him and scream they’ll beat him.
"If you’re questioning my loyalty, I’d silence thought real quick." I glared at her sharply, my brows knitted together. I let my voice carry the weight of the threat.
Like really smiling as he ran from her clearing chairs like there pebbles.
A witch would definitely have answers, and a healer might too.
Ambrose sat up, holding his nose. "Fuck, I think you broke it."
"You’ve gotta catch me first!" He yelled back.
"That’s true, it’s worth looking into. I’ll see if I can find any texts on this, a mate bond with a vampire and a vampire with an alpha aura." Ursula suggested.
"I think we will too." She said to me with a sweet and genuine smile, her voice light. "You remind me so much of your mother. It’s unbelievable."
Just like an old slasher werewolf film from the 50’s. The whore always trips over air when running from the killer.
Ursula raised her eyebrow and asked "I don’t get it. What’s so funny?"
A lot actually, I think we’ll make good friends.
The focus was really hard, keeping my balance, trying not to push more air on one side than the other.
"Okay, I’ll get prepared for lessons and take time to settle in more myself." She told him and then turned to me "Princess Odette, be well, and let me know if I can do anything to help. I’m forever in your mother’s debt. We all are."
When I finally caught my breath, I responded with "No one has ever said that to me, they all say I’m like my father."
"To be completely honest, I don’t even know what I’m truly capable of, but Ambrose said he would arrange a magic teacher for me. I just know, that doing that earlier, was as easy as eating soup with a big spoon."
"What? Why are you looking at me like that?" I looked to Ursula and told her "and lift your head Ursula, you bowing to me is kinda weird, after we’ve already been so informal."
"I’ve been wanting to check out the library, admittedly for the mate bond, thing, as well." I added, having her around might get me access to more restricted books.
It took some serious focus to stay in up, I wobbled at first, stumbling over actual air.
"Your aura, you let it out. You gave a command and forced obedience with a shifter. That’s an alpha ability, how could you be able to do that? That’s impossible" Ursula answered clearly shocked by her own reaction.
"No, you father is so cold, he makes an iceberg jealous. Jack frost wishes he could be that cold." She scoffed, and I busted out in another fit of laughter.
A smile crept up my lips.
Like shit, I’d be scared to disappoint her. Ouch.
I didn’t want to go shopping, deal with the stares.
Nevermind, I take it all back.
It’s scary as all hell, yet I feel more connected to myself than I’ve ever been before. I can’t help but feel like I am meant to be here right now. That I couldn’t become stronger if I stayed home, and if I’d never been snatched away against my well, I might have never left. I’d be shaped and molded into a woman meant to lead, a queen.
"Yeah, I know." He grunted, snapping his nose back into place.
"Uh, but I don’t have any supplies." I tried to delay it. I just got back, I wanted to settle in, first.
I feel like freakin superman as I fly through these halls tailing the two of them.
I shivered remembering the nightmare. Those things were terrifying, and Ezelreth he was in a league all his own.
But I busted out hysterically in uncontrollable laughter, when I saw Ursula drop her jaw, she narrowed her eyes and turned to him with a look that said, ’I’m going to jail.’
"Ambrose Onyx Romanoff, I’m going to save your end your ass and send you to see your mother, where she can kick your ass." She yelled hopping over furniture, chasing him.
"I don’t have an alpha aura though, could it be something else?" I ask.
She leaned up and socked him square in the nose.
I like her.
Here’s a chance to show my skills, I used air to push me off the ground send me towards the door.
Ambrose was right, I don’t need to hide how powerful I am. I don’t have show them all my strength, but I can stop pretending to just have mildly better abilities than most.
He howled, "Fuck, that hurt." Holding his nose.
Tears from laughter streamed down my cheeks.
"Your mother would have done worse if she found out you chained a girl up in the dungeon." Ursula sounded like the most ruthless person I’ve ever seen in this moment, she even scared me a little.
I am flying.
"I wouldn’t dare deny you anything you ask." Ambrose smirked again, and Ursula rolled her eyes, as if she’s seen him do it a hundred times before.
"How did you get here?" Ambrose asked raising his brow, "I know your fast, but Ursula’s ability is speed, so how?"
I heard the crack, and it made me cringe. That’s when they both looked up and noticed me, a little winded, more from focus than physical effort.
"And that was just a party trick." I told Ursula my voice sharp and every word deliberate.
"Absolutely, thank you, I’m so happy to meet you, I think we’ll be great friends." I rushed up to hug her.
"Then go shopping." Ursula shrugged me off.
He decided to take the chase out of the room and into the halls.
"Perfect, we can also do our schooling there as well. Ambrose, you’ll have a room arranged for me to teach in." Ursula left no room for argument.
I wasn’t as fast as them, but I wasn’t too far behind.
"She’s not lying, before I liked her, I had her locked in the dungeon and even in chains, she still called me a coward and threatened me. Even when I threatened her, she bit back hurling insults like a professional ball player." Ambrose laughed.
Their faces only got funnier as they saw me fly past them.
I wonder, how can I use my telekinesis to better stabilize long flights?
"If that’s true, then how come you weren’t affected, Ambrose?" I asked skeptically.
"No, nothing else, except the moon goddess herself could make a wolf shifter submit."
"Is everything okay?" Ursula’s face and voice softened when she heard about the healer.
"I’ll hold you to it." Ursula grinned, but behind the grin, I could see her seriousness.
But she knew deep down I wasn’t lying; I could see the flicker of realization hit her face.
Finally, Ambrose comes to a halt and Ursula slams into him from behind, tackling him.
"No, I am not taking her out, we just returned, and we need to see our resident witch and healer, some concerning things have happened, that’s why we’re back before everyone else." Ambrose defended my right to be lazy. I slept like shit the night before.
"You’d feel that?" Ambrose and Ursula spoke almost at the exact same time.
She immediately wrapped her arms around me, returning my hug with an even tighter one.
Ursula looked at me stunned. Like what I was saying couldn’t be true. But she had seen it with her own eyes, felt it with her own body and question if they could lie to her.
"Oh, I felt it, but it’s a lot harder to force me to submit, I’m the alpha king, not to brag, but I don’t submit to an alpha aura, I am the alpha of alpha’s." Ambrose had that stupid fucking smirk tugging at his lips.
"Ambrose, I’m serious, you put the princess of fucking vampires in chains. Oh, goddess, you, ugh I don’t even know what to do with you other than wringing that neck of yours, once I get a hold of you." She yelled back at him.
What is going on with me? When did I get so... affectionate... with strangers?
"Ambrose gets back here and take your beating!" Ursula yelled. But Ambrose just laughed, like a little boy playing with his long-lost big sister.
"I flew here."
