I will be a demon in this life!
Chapter 110
CHAPTER 110: CHAPTER 110
"Miserable, I don’t believe you’ve changed," thought Deria, who glanced sideways at Mart from time to time. She was one of the subordinates of the current Marquis Teraz Sevec, Mart’s father, but after the real Mart groped her, she had aligned herself with a faction within the marquisate that supported Benjac Sevec, Mart’s talented half-brother. That was one of the reasons why she looked at Mart with contempt.
••••
Mart gazed at the beautiful, luxurious buildings visible from the window until they reached the city gates, where the guards stopped the vehicle. This time, they were demons Mart had never seen before, but like the previous guards, they wore white uniforms with gold trim.
This time, the vehicle inspection was quick, somewhat formal, to verify that no slaves or indebted demons were leaving Zazel City.
"Thank you for your time, young sir. We hope you return," said the chief guard who conducted the inspection politely.
Mart nodded, after which the guards got out of the demonic vehicle.
A few seconds later, the vehicle started moving again to continue its journey to Damtes City.
••••
The demonic vehicle advanced without incident. Several hours had passed since they had left Zazel City. It was nighttime. Mart slept next to Iristel.
[Demon God Energy: (04)]
Mart opened his eyes, sat up in bed, and saw the sorceress Deria sitting and reading a magic grimoire.
A few seconds later, Deria slammed the book shut with a snap. Then the vehicle stopped.
"So they couldn’t leave me alone," Mart thought as he read the number of beings with demon god energy.
"What are their ranks?" Mart asked.
[4 demons at the midpoint of the fifth rank]
[One demon without demon god energy: in the advanced sixth rank]
"What an exaggeration. Do they want to make sure they finish me off or capture me?" thought Mart, who got up after waking Iristel.
Mart put on a short-sleeved shirt and white pants. Mart’s shirt had gold buttons.
-Don’t go out there, young master. -said Deria, who hurried out while pulling a red staff with a purple gem at its top out of a demonic ring.
Mart just watched as she left the vehicle, then he made 15 level 5 wands float, putting away the spiral-tipped blades.
-Iristel. Look, this is the diagram I used to make these wands float. You must learn it. It’s the first step.
Iristel looked at the demonic diagram for several seconds.
••••
Outside the vehicle.
Sitan and Deria were looking at four demons dressed casually.
One of them was thin, with orange hair, greenish skin, and pointed nails with a sharp gleam at the tips.
Two others had grayish skin, thick horns on their foreheads, and completely black eyes with white pupils.
The last was a six-armed demon with multiple eyes, from the fallen demon race of red spiders.
But with them was a man wearing an elegant black suit, white gloves, and silver bracelets on his wrists encrusted with demonic gems. His most striking feature was a beautiful theater mask with a sad expression.
-Herald. Are you a mercenary? Now you’re siding with those bastards? -Deria exclaimed, questioning the Herald’s actions.
-Say no more or I’ll cry. I’m a victim of money. If there’s money, you’ll see me there. -exclaimed the Herald with a fake sad voice.
Sitan put his hand on the hilt of his sword, while Deria tried to send a message with her demon crystal, but the demon crystal didn’t work.
-I like private shows, guests are not welcome. -said the Herald.
Sitan looked at the other four demons, thinking about finishing them off first if possible. But as soon as he flexed his muscles, he felt an intense thirst for blood coming from the Herald.
Sitan realized that if he ignored the Herald, he would die on the spot.
-Don’t look at me so seriously. Or I’ll cry. -the Herald said to Sitan.
The two subordinates of the Marquis Sevec knew that they had to attack the Herald at the same time in order to contain him, but in that case, the four demons would attack Mart Sevec.
"Damn it. Why should I put myself in danger for that scum?" thought Deria.
And the Herald, who was good at reading facial expressions, no matter how subtle, seized the moment to say:
-If you hand over Mart Sevec, I’ll leave. Maybe I’ll give you a few wounds so you can justify the inevitable absence of young Mart. That way, we won’t have to be sad.
Deria seemed to hesitate, but Sitan drew his sword and wasted no time in unleashing a demonic energy slash.
Bang!
-How sad that that is your answer. -said the Herald after dodging the demonic energy slash.
The Herald pulled a demonic wand from the sleeve of his elegant suit, then began waving the wand as if he were an orchestra conductor, and the ground began to shake.
Bang! Bang! Bang!...
Hundreds of rocks covered in demonic energy flew toward Sitan, who began cutting the rocks with his sword.
Bang! Bang!...
Daria pointed her demonic staff at the Herald, and he created a demonic barrier with one of his hands to protect himself from the impact of hundreds of spears of concentrated demonic energy while continuing to wave his demonic wand.
At that moment, the four demons ran toward the carriage at full speed.
-Damn it! -exclaimed Daria, looking away for a moment.
Bang!
Daria rolled across the ground after receiving a punch to the stomach.
-It’s unfortunate, unfortunate." A distraction in battle is equal to defeat! -exclaimed the herald.
Daria was vomiting fluids, food debris, and blood. She was trying to breathe and use her demonic energy to recover, but the blow she received contained enough of the enemy’s demonic energy to prevent her from recovering quickly.
Sitan saw the Herald raise his hand toward Daria.
A sword of pure demonic energy began to crystallize above Daria.
Sitan covered his sword and body with demonic energy and jumped, cutting through the stones and taking a few hits, but he planned to reach the Herald at all costs.
