CHAPTER 116: CHAPTER 116

-Rest, you see the brown door. Inside there is a bed. We will leave tomorrow. -said Balac Sevec, getting up to walk over to a chair, which he sat down on.

Now, Balac was sitting in front of a table on which there were various delicacies, but he only began to eat some fruits of demonic origin.

••••

At dawn, after bathing, Selenia dressed in a beautiful dark red casual dress and then climbed out of Mart’s bedroom window.

"I must go back to taking my notes. After all, a lot has happened," thought Mart after changing the sheets, blankets, and pillows for clean ones. Then he took Deniris in his arms and laid her on the bed.

Mart sat down in his chair in front of the desk, and the first thing he wrote down was:

"Find Professor Helen and investigate everything related to the god Alvat."

"I must seclude myself and absorb one more drop of the Demon God’s blood."

"I must not ignore the trial that will take place on Marrac Mountain; the conspirators seem determined to cause chaos."

"Find a grimoire or book with advanced demonic formulas used in high-level curses."

Mart made a few more notes, then closed his eyes. Now that his intelligence had greatly increased, he studied the cursed diagram he had seen in the final memories of the real Mart, as that diagram contained several advanced demonic formulas. However, even though he understood the nature of the diagram, he still felt that it was dangerous to misuse an advanced demonic formula used to create curses.

"Yes, I need to get a suitable book or grimoire," Mart thought, then put away his notebook and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

••••

After showering, Mart dressed in his academy uniform: a white shirt, black tie, white pants, and black shoes, all tailor-made.

"I think I’ll have to make some slight adjustments to the uniform next year," Mart thought, before putting on his wizard’s robe over his uniform.

Deniris had woken up and was watching him curiously from the bed.

-Wait here, Iristel or Menna will bring you some clothes. I know you don’t know who Menna is, but if she comes, you’ll meet her. -Mart explained, then opened the door and left his room.

••••

Mart walked through the corridors of the Academy, where there were few students, and headed for the Danteriar gardens, walking along the paths paved with white stones.

When he reached the large green wall, the entrance opened and an elegant minotaur came out to greet him.

-Young Mart, it’s a pleasure to see you. What brings you here?

-It’s a pleasure for me too. -I would like to know if Miss Isirid is in the gardens?

-No, young Mart, she is not here at the moment. Miss Merliano doesn’t usually come often during the holidays, and when she does, it’s in the afternoons. -said the minotaur respectfully.

-Thank you for the information. -said Mart, then left and walked toward the academy’s hallways.

Mart headed to the library, where he found a female professor with reddish hair, four black eyes, cinnamon skin, long red nails, and dressed in a blue blouse and a long black skirt.

He looked around, respectfully greeted the professor at the library reception desk, and shortly thereafter left the library.

••••

In his study, Director Persec was writing some notes and said to his granddaughter, who was reading a grimoire, in a calm voice without looking up from his documents:

-The student Mart Sevec was looking for you in the Danteriar gardens.

Isirid listened to her grandfather’s words and shortly thereafter closed the book she was reading and replied naturally to her grandfather:

-I’m going out for a walk.

Director Persec looked up the moment his granddaughter closed the door, shook his head, and returned to reading the documents he had been writing.

••••

Mart walked through the halls of the Academy and then headed for the female dormitories.

-Hello, Mart. I heard you wanted to see me?-said Isirid, who was sitting on a bench reading a grimoire on controlling demonic energy to create high-level demonic spells in a defined area.

-That’s right. -said Mart, sitting down next to Isirid, and then added: -That looks like an excellent grimoire.

-Yes, it is. -added Isirid bluntly but calmly, as she placed the book on her lap.

-Isirid, what did the executive board and Director Persec finally decide regarding the tests on Marrac Mountain? -Mart asked expectantly.

-They decided to go ahead with the tests. -Isirid said, clutching the book tightly.

-Don’t worry, nothing will happen to you. I won’t allow it, but I need you to tell Director Persec that I need to talk to him. It’s a favor. Someday you can ask me for something in return. -Mart said thoughtfully, as he had no doubt that there was a plot to send Isirid to the mountain and attack her.

-Here, this is my thanks for the support you gave me that day. -Isirid said, handing him an elegant, new-looking brown book with gold lettering that spelled out the title, "Cursed World," and the book had a subtitle, "Advanced Demonic Formulas."

Mart looked at the book, excited. It was quite useful.

-Maybe it’s not as useful as a grimoire with complex diagrams, but I know it will be useful to you. -added Isirid, standing up. When she was ready to leave, Mart said with determination,

-No one can defeat us, you can be sure of that.

Isirid nodded and walked away.

Mart didn’t hesitate. He opened the book and began to read every formula on every page. When he had reached the middle of the book, he put it in his demonic bag and walked toward the cafeteria.

"I think in a week I’ll be able to complete the cursed diagrams that I hadn’t been able to perfect or complete," Mart thought as he entered the Academy cafeteria.

••••

"So, the student Mart Sevec wants to meet with me," Persec murmured as he looked at the Academy from the window of his study. "Believer of Alvat, what do you want?" Persec wondered to himself.

Isirid just sat in an armchair waiting for her grandfather’s answer.

-Tomorrow I’ll send Professor Smart to bring him here. I’ll talk to him. -Persec told his granddaughter, who simply nodded after hearing her grandfather’s decision.
