CHAPTER 200: OUR FELLOW OMEGA

Time passes by quickly when you’re having fun. Focused on his new pottery project, Felix didn’t even realize how late it got, not until Vivi cried out, demanding to be fed. Only then did he realize that it was already afternoon...

And that he was also hungry. The solid breakfast he had had in the morning might have been enough to sustain him for a good few hours, but after all the touring around the pack house he had done with Kade, and then working by the wheel for a long time, his stomach started cooing, reminding him it was about time to grab some lunch.

Felix let out a sigh, and tidied up his working space, wrapping his project in plastic to prevent it from drying out. Although he was planning to come back to the workshop after the meal to continue working on it... It was better safe than sorry. If something stopped or delayed him and he wasn’t able to come back, then it might be impossible to recover it. He had wasted quite a lot of clay due to such negligence back when he had first started, so he was much more careful now, it pretty much became a habit.

Once he was done, he finally put his winter jacket back on, picked Vivi up, and left the workshop, locking the door behind himself.

The workshop was located a bit further away from the main mansion, in a hidden spot in the garden. Felix didn’t know if Kade had picked it on purpose, or if it was just the best place that was available, but the location was very much up to his taste. Surrounded by trees and hidden behind a tall hedge, it was quiet and out of sight. Although there weren’t many flowerbeds surrounding it, and there was just one wooden bench by the entrance...

It was for the best. If the spot were too pretty, it would attract more attention. The way it was now, unless someone came there looking specifically for him, it was unlikely that they would wander there, as there were many more beautiful places in the garden.

Felix walked through the garden paths at a brisk pace, pushing the pram as he headed for the main mansion. He had forgotten to ask Kade when lunch was served... Or if he could use the kitchen himself if he happened to miss it, so it was better to hurry up. Otherwise, he would have to bother Kade about it, as he still wasn’t familiar with the rules and customs of the Bloodmoon Pack.

The garden was all empty, at least as far as Felix could see, but the paths had all been cleared of snow. Well, no wonder - even now, in the winter, the garden had its charm, with a soft blanket of snow covering everything. Werewolves were well-adapted to cold, and liked being outside by nature. While they still had to dress appropriately for the weather while in their human form, many, if not most of them, would still enjoy going out for a stroll, rather than huddling inside all day long.

...And sure enough, as he got closer to the mansion, Felix ran into a group strolling around.

A group of Omegas.

Omegas that he was somewhat familiar with...

He wanted to take a turn to hide behind the hedge, and preferably bypass the group, but it was too late. He had already been spotted.

"Oh?" Lyla tilted her head, pushing her strawberry blond hair back. "Isn’t that new... Ah, I mean, our fellow Omega from the main branch? What was the name..." She paused, furrowing her brows, as if she was struggling to remember, before suddenly brightening up. "Ah! Felix, right? Like Young Master’s pet bunny!"

Felix stared at her for a moment. He was... a bit disappointed, but not surprised. Lyla might have sounded friendly, but her words were clearly calculated. From almost calling him a ’new Omega’, through pretending not to remember his name, to finally recalling it because he shared his name with a pet... It was obvious that she was testing Felix. Trying to push his buttons to see what might work. In fact, probably even their presence in the garden, at that exact spot leading to the mansion’s entrance, was in hopes of running into Felix. They all looked rather cold, despite wearing their jackets, rubbing their arms and huffing on their hands.

As if they had been standing in one spot for a long while.

Once again, Felix couldn’t help but low-key command them for their patience. And ponder over their idleness. First, they had been skulking around in the dining hall forever, and now, they were doing the same thing in the garden. Felix couldn’t possibly imagine something like that taking place in the Moonhill Pack! While the Omegas there also had a lot of free time to hang out and chat - or at least what felt like ’a lot of time’ at the time - it wasn’t THIS much!

Unfortunately for Lyla, none of her provocation landed. While Felix was mildly annoyed by the mention of the bunny (not because there was something inherently wrong with sharing the name with a pet. It was just that it reminded him of all the things Kade had said about the bunny, using his name), he didn’t let that show.

He was already used to situations like that.

"Yes, that’s me," he just confirmed with a nod. "Now, if you excuse me..."

He attempted to pass them by, but one of the Omegas blocked his path.

"Ah, wait! Where are you going?" Lyla smiled at him.

Felix didn’t want to give them a clear answer, lest they might want to tag along, so he just said, "To the main mansion."

But even if he didn’t say he was going for lunch, how could that stop them from following him?

"Oh? Let’s go together then! We were about to head back as well."

...Felix had no reason to refuse. They were supposedly going in the same direction. So, he just planned to excuse himself once they got inside...

But before they even took a step into the building, his stomach betrayed him by growling loudly.

The Omegas all heard it. And they all knew it was coming from him. Because of course they did...

"Oh, are you hungry? Let’s have lunch together, then!" Lyla offered.

Felix still tried to salvage the situation by saying, "I want to stop by my room first..." But his efforts were all for naught.

"That’s not a good idea," Lyla shook her head, pretending to be worried. "It’s so late already, if you take too long, you might miss the meal!"

...What could Felix possibly say to it? He didn’t know whether Lyla was telling the truth or not, but it would make no sense for him to insist of going back now. If he did, then that would be pretty much like saying: ’I’d rather be hungry than spend time with you...’

Well, he had to get familiar with those Omegas sooner or later anyway, no matter whether their intentions were good or not. It was just that his lunch time was going to be a bit uncomfortable, that’s all...

It wasn’t anything Felix wouldn’t be able to endure.
