CHAPTER 207: FORMING ALLIANCES

"Young Master Felix. Would it be alright for us to join you?"

Felix lifted his eyes. There were three young Omegas standing in front of him, with their glasses in their hands, and with smiles plastered all over their faces. Their smiles weren’t exactly the most genuine...

But they didn’t look fake either. More like polite, calculated expressions they had put on to match the situation, without having to force themselves to hide their true feeling.

And that male Omega in the middle, the one who had just spoken. When he had called Felix ’Young Master’, there wasn’t a trace of mockery, or any other negative sentiments in his voice.

Felix scanned them carefully. Based on their attire, they seemed to be from affluent families. He didn’t think he had seen them before, especially not the male Omega in the middle... But he still hadn’t met all of the Omegas from the main mansion, so it didn’t mean anything. They could also be college students currently residing in the city for the sake of their studies - Felix had heard that some of them would come back for the party. And he didn’t know about the male Omega in the middle or the young woman on his right...

But the female Omega on the left was already mated. She carried her Alpha’s scent, which meant she had even been marked.

Well, there were bound to be some of those as well. Omegas that had already found their mate, fated or chosen, and didn’t desire the position of Kade’s mate. And since they had no conflict of interest with Felix, they weren’t hostile toward him. Quite the opposite, they could be willing to take his side. Join his circle early on, as it could benefit them later, once Felix became the Luna of the Pack...

To be honest, Felix felt a bit bad for them. They had decided to go against the majority and bet on him, but they were bound to be disappointed. Felix had no intention of becoming the Luna, after all...

He was still going to accept their goodwill, though. He needed as many allies as he could find if he wanted to have at least a sliver of peace during his stay in the Bloodmoon Pack. As for those Omegas... He would make sure to put in a good word for them with Kade, so that their efforts wouldn’t go to waste.

For now, he put a polite smile on his face, and said, "I’d be happy for you to join me, please."

"Thank you," the Omegas nodded politely, and sat down on the empty chairs by the table. Since it was expected that pack members would approach Felix, rather than Felix trying to seek out others, because of his status and his seat of honor, there were extra chairs arranged so that others could join him if he so wished.

Of course, that’s not to say that Felix was alone. There were still others left around him, including Kade - although they were busy talking with the people who had approached them. When Kade noticed that someone had finally joined Felix, though, he quickly exchanged glances with him.

’Is everything alright?’ he seemed to be asking.

Felix nodded his head lightly as he caught his gaze, before turning his attention back to the Omegas. Rather than bother with Kade, he should focus on forming the alliance.

"I don’t think I’ve caught your names," he smiled politely.

"My name is Theo Darkmoor, and those are Thalia Vesper and Alara Nyx," the male Omega introduced himself, before pointing at the woman with the strawberry blond hair, then at the marked one. "Nice to meet you, Young Master Felix."

"Pleasure’s all mine. Please, call me Felix."

"Oh, I couldn’t possibly..."

"I insist."

There was no need to flaunt his (fake) status in front of the Omegas who were willing to take his side, it would only create unnecessary distance. Not to mention, Felix wasn’t used to it in the slightest, and being called ’Young Master’ just sounded odd in his ears...

Theo seemed a bit uneasy, glancing at Kade, but since he saw no reaction from the Alpha, he finally agreed, "If that’s what you wish."

He wasn’t the most uncomfortable person, though. Thalia, the strawberry blonde Omega sitting by his side, was constantly shifting in her seat, throwing anxious glances at Kade, which probably were meant to be furtive, but because of how nervous she was, she was making it way too obvious... And it wasn’t just that. She was fixing her dress, in particular the upper part, as if she was trying to make sure that her cleavage wasn’t too exposed...

Huh. It was just a hunch, but... Could it be that something had happened between her and Kade before? Probably nothing special, considering Kade’s nonchalant and disinterested attitude - he had barely swept his eyes through the three Omegas to check who they were - but maybe she had been one of the Omegas chasing after Kade in the past, but she had since given up, and was now embarrassed about her actions? It could be a stretch to assume this much, but her behavior truly seemed like a young girl embarrassed from meeting her former crush.

Felix didn’t bring it up, though, since it was surely going to be a sensitive topic. Instead, he asked about another thing he was curious about. "Thalia Vesper, right? If I may ask, are you perhaps related to Lyla?"

Thalia’s face darkened, and she even forgot about the self-consciousness she felt around Kade for a moment.

It seemed that Felix was right.

Well, of course he was. The resemblance was uncanny. If it weren’t that Thalia’s hair was shorter, her makeup lighter, her dress more modest, and her demeanor much more subdued and polite, he could almost confuse the two. Maybe not if they stood side by side, but still.

"She’s my cousin," Thalia admitted, albeit unwillingly, before quickly adding, "We’re not close, though."

’Please don’t misunderstand, I have nothing to do with whatever she’s doing,’ was what she was trying to say. She must have already heard that Lyla had tried causing trouble for Felix.

Felix nodded his head, giving her a reassuring smile. He had no plans to blame the woman for her cousin’s faults. He just said, "Ah, I just thought that you looked a bit similar, that’s all," before changing the topic. "Are you perhaps living in the city?"
