I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]
Chapter 223: Negotiations
CHAPTER 223: NEGOTIATIONS
The so-called negotiations took place later in the afternoon, in a small conference room. Aside from Jared, Kade, and Felix, the only people who took part in it were Einar, the Bloodmoon Pack’s leader, Lorelei, the Luna, and one of the elders, with snow white hair and frosty blue eyes. Fen’s father, if Felix remembered correctly.
Jared was no longer throwing up, but his face was still deathly pale, and his forehead was covered in cold sweat. He was clearly in pain...
But the moment Felix stepped into the room, his pained expression twisted into a smirk. He stared at Felix with cruel satisfaction, as if he had just won, or something.
It seems he hadn’t been filled in on the situation yet. He had only realized that Felix was at the Bloodmoon Pack, and probably assumed that he had been captured, and was about to be handed over to him...
Oh, well. Whatever misunderstandings Jared had, it was none of Felix’s concern. He just walked over to the table and took a seat next to Kade, his expression calm. Perhaps not effortlessly calm, as his wolf kept pacing around anxiously in his mind, and the fated mate bond kept tugging in on him, making him extremely uncomfortable... But since he knew that it would be over soon and Jared would go back to the Moonhill Pack alone, without him, he clenched his fists and forced himself to endure it.
Jared’s expression faltered a little upon seeing his calmness. However, before long, he scoffed, and smirked again. He probably assumed that Felix was just pretending to be calm to try to maintain the last bit of dignity, even though he had been forced into the corner. After all, the Bloodmoon Pack summoned him all the way here, and even procured an antidote for him (yes, an ANTIDOTE. Jared was still unaware that it was only a partial antidote that would wear off soon... He simply assumed that his stomach ache was the result of throwing up for so long, and that it would fade away after a while), not to mention, he was still Felix’s fated mate. So, what could a young Omega like Felix possibly do? The Bloodmoon Pack was bound to take his side.
And this confidence of his led him to turn to Einar, and say, "Thank you so much, Mr. Blackstone, for returning my fated mate to me! I greatly appreciate your help. If there’s anything that I can do for you to repay you, please let me know!"
The conference room fell into silence. It had already been quiet to begin with, but Jared’s words were like a sound blanket, blocking any noise. For a moment, it was so quiet that it seemed as if no one was even breathing...
Then, all of a sudden, someone snorted.
It was, of course, Kade.
"I’m sorry, what? Who’s fated mate?" he scoffed, looking at Jared as if the man had lost his mind.
This made Jared deeply confused. Yes, the fact that Felix was his fated mate wasn’t public knowledge... But Kade had been in the Moonhill Pack a few months ago. At that time, Jared had told him about it in order to explain Felix’s ’missing’ status. He was certain he had done it...
Could it be that Kade saw the information about the future Luna of the Moonhill Pack as so insignificant that he had completely forgotten about it?
Still, pointing that out could be seen as rude, so he forced himself to smile politely. "Mr... I mean, Young Master Kade, Felix is my fated mate and my future Luna. He is also the mother of my pup..."
"What?" Kade glared at Jared. "What pup?"
"This..." Jared didn’t quite know what to say. He had only seen the pup once before, and because of all the spells and curses that had been cast on him back then, he could hardly recall anything about the pup. He barely remembered their existence, and didn’t even know the primary gender, let alone their name! He could only say, "The few months old pup that should have been with Felix."
Honestly, it was a pathetic way to say it, and Lorelei’s face immediately darkened. Of course, it wasn’t actually Jared’s fault that he didn’t know anything about his pup... But only Jared and Felix knew it. Felix naturally wouldn’t say anything, and Jared wouldn’t explain himself either, because of his pride. Under Lorelei’s cold gaze, he could only swallow down his saliva with difficulty...
But in the end, it didn’t matter how little he knew. The pup was his, and that was all that mattered.
Or so he thought.
What he didn’t expect was that Kade would let out a mirthless chuckle in response, and say, "If you’re talking about Vivi, then you’re wrong. She’s my pup."
"...What?"
Jared stared at Kade, struggling to comprehend the situation. Could it be that Felix had one more pup?
...No, that couldn’t be. Although his memories were fuzzy, there was definitely only one pup in the house in Silverfall. And Felix hadn’t been pregnant. It hadn’t been too long ago, so where would one more pup suddenly come from?
But that pup... was a few months old.
Jared tried calculating everything in his mind once again. Which was a bit hard, as he was still in too much pain to focus properly, but the math he had to do wasn’t difficult, so he soon noticed the first discrepancy.
"Young Master Kade. With how old the pup is, at the time you had visited the Moonhill Pack, Felix had to be in an advanced pregnancy. You, however, didn’t know him yet back then," he pointed out.
Unexpectedly, his words affected Felix more than Kade.
Kade had visited the Moonhill Pack? What was that about? Why hadn’t he heard about it?
He threw a questioning glance at Kade...
But Kade ignored him. It wasn’t the time to discuss that. Instead, he smiled at Jared and said,
"Who says I didn’t know him? I obviously came to your pack to look into his situation... Because his my mate and the mother of my pup."
