I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]
Chapter 252: Bad Timing
CHAPTER 252: BAD TIMING
Seven ’favor’ days, and six weeks to use it. It all had to be well-planned, from when, where, how, and on whom Felix was going to use his voucher. Since it was completely different from how Felix had initially intended to use the voucher (that is, by NOT using it and saving the slots, so that no one would dare to wrong him), he had to come up with a new strategy, and he had to do it FAST. The time he had left until the voucher’s expiration date would only continue to shrink, after all.
Needless to say, he had a lot on his mind. The last thing he needed was any extra distractions.
He even agreed to leave planning for Vivi’s tenth-month birthday party to Kade! It was only a small, close-circle party with a cake, but still. He only wanted to know what the Alpha had in mind beforehand, and left the rest for him. Even if he was still conflicted about Kade playing the role of Vivi’s father in private.
He just needed to focus on coming up with the plan, which was unlike anything he had ever done before, be it in the Bloodmoon Pack, or back in the Moonhill Pack...
But how could things be so easy? Although Felix’s mother had picked his name with hopes it would bring him good luck in life, it hadn’t worked well so far. As usual, Felix seemed to be plagued by misfortune. Just as he was in the middle of working on his new plan, a high-priority email arrived from the Moonhill Pack.
Jared had finally been able to get in touch with Wilder Embermane, informing him of the situation, and Wilder had now returned to his pack. He was requesting to visit the Bloodmoon Pack to meet with the leader, Young Master Kade, and Felix as soon as possible.
Could the timing get any worse? Felix was busy enough as it was!
But he couldn’t exactly ask Einar to postpone the meeting because he wanted to use up his favor voucher first, now could he?
Well, in a way, perhaps it was for the best. If something happened during Wilder’s visit that might cause a stir in the pack (or, to be precise, affect Felix’s status and reputation within the Bloodmoon Pack), then perhaps he could use the voucher to set things straight...
The only problem was that it would significantly shorten the time Felix had to use it. After exchanging a few emails, it had been decided that Wilder would arrive four days later, and stay for a week, which would leave Felix only about a month to use the voucher... And that was about two ’favor’ days to use per week. Even less, considering the time he needed to come up with the ideas on how to use it. If he really wanted to take full advantage of it, it would be a bit tight. Felix was already getting tired just thinking about it.
As for why Wilder was going to stay in the Bloodmoon Pack for a whole week? That was, of course, because ’he hadn’t seen his only son in so long!’ ’He was very worried about how Felix was doing in an unfamiliar pack.’ ’He wanted to make sure that Felix was treated well, and that whatever he was doing, it was out of his own will.’
And, of course, he also wanted to discuss the situation with Jared with Felix. The two were fated mates, after all! And Jared was ’deeply hurt about how Felix had been treating him’...
It was all bullshit, at least in Felix’s ears. Since when had that father of his actually cared about him? He most certainly hadn’t when Felix had been bullied as a kid! Even if some of his behavior could be explained as ’tough love,’ most of it was nothing but neglect.
Not that Felix felt hurt by it or anything. He was long past that phase. He was just annoyed and frustrated, and not in the mood to meet with Wilder, ever.
But he wanted some answers, primarily regarding his mother. Because even now, he didn’t understand why Einar would have a pup with her, only to reject her later, and pick someone else to be his Luna. Yes, he had rejected her because Sienna had been weak, and no one would have wanted a weak Luna... But then why have a pup first? Wouldn’t it make much more sense to have a pup with a stronger Omega? So that his pup wouldn’t inherit Sienna’s weak genes...
Naturally, no matter what explanation Wilder had for his actions, it wouldn’t change a thing, especially now, when Sienna had long been gone, but Felix still wanted to know. Simply because he felt that there must be something more to it.
As for Jared’s issue... That was something he was perhaps the most anxious about. Initially, when he had asked Jared to get in touch with his father, back in Silverfall, he had assumed that once he came to an agreement with Wilder, Wilder would command Jared to reject Felix, and then the fated bond would finally be broken.
That was no longer the case, though. After so many failed rejection attempts, Felix doubted that Wilder’s words could change anything... Rather, the man now had an argument to bring Felix back to the pack. If he revealed that the fated bond between Felix and Jared was still in place, it would be hard for Einar and Lorelei to reject his request. Unless Wilder decided that having Felix marry into the Bloodmoon Pack would benefit him and the Moonhill Pack more...
All those issues weighted heavily on Felix’s mind for the following few days, as he awaited his father’s arrival, growing more uneasy with each day...
And finally, on a cold, rainy afternoon, the van with blackened windows pulled up in front of the guest house.
Wilder Embermane had finally came to visit the Bloodmoon Pack.
