I Would Rather Be a Rogue [BL]
Chapter 262: Going for a Run
CHAPTER 262: GOING FOR A RUN
The next day started peacefully. Because Wilder was going to stay at the Bloodmoon Pack for a week, and the situation was a bit trickier this time, so Einar and Lorelei wanted to feel him out first, to see what he wanted and what his attitude was, the official talks weren’t scheduled to start until the third day of his stay. The second day was meant to give him a proper welcome, show him around the pack house a bit, make him feel good, and so on.
And the person who took charge of it was Kade. As the future son-in-law, as he liked to call himself (even though he and Felix were not engaged or anything), and the heir to the pack, he was the most suitable person for the job. He personally volunteered to do it, as he wanted to have a little chat with the person who had come to visit his pack with nefarious intentions, that is, with plans to take his future cute little mate away from him.
Wilder was fine with it. With Kade being the one to show him around, that is. To Felix’s surprise, he didn’t ask for him to join them...
But Felix hardly doubted that there were any good intentions behind this. Wilder probably wanted to have an opportunity to say things about Felix and his past to Kade to discourage Kade from pursuing him.
Well, it was fine. While Felix would be lying if he said that he wasn’t feeling uneasy about it at all, since even though he didn’t want to be Kade’s Luna, he didn’t want the Alpha to come to dislike him or anything... He trusted Kade. Out of the things that were true about him, there was nothing so bad that it could suddenly change the Alpha’s opinion on him, and if Wilder tried to make up some fake stories, Kade probably wouldn’t believe them. He would likely confront Felix first, and if Felix denied it, he would trust him over his father’s words...
After all, Kade still wanted him even though he was still bonded with another werewolf, had given birth to another Alpha’s pup, and had a questionable relationship with a fox shifter witch. If none of that was a deal breaker for Kade, then what would be?
So, Felix was calm.
Or so he thought. But the moment he heard knocking on the door, he flinched so hard that he almost fell off the sofa.
The knocking came from the door leading to the hallway, so he had no idea who it was. He clenched his fists and took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, before saying, "Come in."
The door opened, and he saw... Cael.
The tension didn’t leave him, though. It didn’t matter who it was, but rather, what they were here for. What news they might have for him. He scanned Cael’s face for any clues...
But Cael just smiled at him. "Hi, want to go for a run?"
Felix blinked, surprised. "A run?"
"Yes. In the forest. You didn’t get to explore the woods outside the pack house much yet, did you? I was thinking that we could shift, and go out for a while. The weather’s too nice to stay cooped up inside!"
Felix furrowed his brows slightly. It wasn’t exactly a strange idea. Actually, that was a very common thing to do, a popular pastime. Many wolves liked to shift and run around outside, alone or with their friends, just for the sake of it. It was pretty much in their nature. Felix had also liked to do it in the past, whenever he had time - which he didn’t have all that much, as the Moonhill Pack dumped a lot of random chores onto him once he was old enough - but he hadn’t been able to do it over the past year and a half, for various reasons...
But still, it was weird. It was the first time Cael asked him to go out together into the woods. It was nice, of course... But why now? On the second day of his father’s visit to the pack? He didn’t suspect Cael of any bad intentions or anything, that wasn’t it at all, but there was no way it was a coincidence. There must have been another motive behind it...
Seeing his expression, Cael let out a helpless sigh. "I thought that it might be good for you to step out, take your mind off of things for a while," he explained.
Well... That was true. Felix could use a change of pace. A positive one.
"Alright," he said, standing up. "That’s a good idea, thanks."
"No problem," Cael smiled.
They took Vivi with them, dropping her at the nursery on their way, before Cael led Felix to one of the back gates. There were two separate exits there, leading straight to the woods, one for the Alphas and the male Betas, and the other for the Omegas and the female Betas. They served as the changing rooms, where the pack members could leave their clothes and shift, going out into the forest in their wolf forms. Felix was already somewhat familiar with the place, since Kade had shown it to him when he was giving him a tour of the pack house weeks ago... But only from the outside, of course, since he and Felix would have to use different changing rooms.
It wasn’t a problem with Cael, though, since they were both Omegas. Cael pushed the door open - they were left unlocked, since everyone trusted their pack members not to go into the changing room that they shouldn’t enter - and they both walked in.
The space was pretty simple. Just a few benches, and lockers without any keys - once again, everyone assumed that they were unnecessary. Aside from that, there was a shower room and two toilet stalls, and that was about it. Similar to changing rooms at human gyms or swimming pools, except that without private cubicles in which people could change. They were considered unnecessary, as nudity between fellow Alphas or Omegas wasn’t seen as a big thing.
And Felix didn’t find it particularly embarrassing either. It was still better than in the Moonhill Pack, when they used to get undressed in the forest, leaving clothes on the rocks. Here, there was at least some privacy.
Next to him, Cael already started undressing, pulling off his jumper and exposing his snow white, slender torso. Not wanting to make the Omega wait, Felix quickly started undressing, but he was still slower than Cael. It seemed he have only turned his eyes for a moment, and the man next to him was no more.
Instead, in his place there was a majestic white wolf.
