Chapter 129: Heartwarming scene
Aeloria was too embarrassed to meet his eyes. Her cheeks burned as she anxiously muttered in her mind.
"Oh no, I thought I made sure to cover it with some fabric"
When she had woken up that morning, she realized her period had started. In a rush, she had taken a bath and cleaned herself thoroughly.
Afterward, she searched through the closet and found an unused piece of white fabric. Without thinking twice, she folded and wrapped it around her lower part, hoping it would be enough to hold for the time being.
She was too embarrassed to look at Alexander, her eyes fixed on the floor as silence hung between them, she was so vulnerable at this moment.
Alexander watched her quietly. When she said nothing, he let out a soft sigh, walked over to the stove, and turned the heat down.
Without a word, he gently lifted her into his arms.
Aeloria gasped softly, her body tensing as she suddenly found herself lifted off the ground, she was weightless in his arms.
The warmth of his hold and the calm steadiness in his expression made it hard to resist. For a brief moment, she forgot her embarrassment.
"You silly woman," Alexander muttered as he looked down at her.
"If you knew you were on your period, you should have rested for the day. Or at least covered it properly. Look you lower clothes were stained."
Caught off guard by the sudden lift, Aeloria instinctively wrapped her arms around Alexander's neck for balance.
Their close position made it impossible for her to escape his gaze, no matter how much she tried to look away.
"It... it just started to hurt now... and I did... I did cover it," she whispered, her voice barely louder than a mosquito's.
Her cheeks burned red, as if smoke could rise from her flustered expression at any moment.
"You did?" Alexander asked softly, glancing at her lower part in question mark.
She was wearing a loose, button-down white shirt that fell past her hips. As Alexander adjusted his hold on her, he caught a glimpse of the snug white shorts beneath.
They were barely visible under the long fabric, and he could not help but wonder what she had used for cover inside her short.
"Why are you looking..." she murmured, her voice soft and shy.
Her hands quickly moved to clutch the lower edge of her shirt, pulling it down in an attempt to cover herself further.
She did not want to show the part of her body that was going through sensitive changes, even if it was fully covered. The thought alone made her want to hide.
Hearing her soft protest, Alexander felt a hint of embarrassment. He quickly averted his eyes and focused on carrying her properly.
Without saying anything more, he went up the stairs and brought her into his room. He gently placed her down on the king-sized bed.
The moment Aeloria felt the softness of the mattress beneath her, she panicked.
Her eyes widened as the warmth of the cushion pressed against her back, and her body tensed, unsure of what to expect next.
Her face twisted with distress as she bit her lower lip. Quickly, she reached for the blanket and pulled it over her legs, covering herself up to the waist.
Alexander stood nearby, unsure whether to speak or step away, but before he could say anything, her soft voice reached him.
"Umm... Alex... can we do it next time? I'm not feeling well," she said, lifting her flushed head slightly to look at him.
Her eyes were sincere, and her expression was vulnerable. It was clear she was trying her best to stay composed despite how she felt.
Alexander was stunned. For a moment, he stood there baffled, his mind trying to catch up with her words.
Then it finally clicked. He realized what she meant, and his eyes slowly met hers.
Seeing him fall into silence, Aeloria panicked. Her cheeks flushed a deep red as she quickly tried to explain herself.
"It's not that I don't want to," she said, her voice trembling slightly.
"It's just... it's dirty and it smells right now. But if you really want to do it, I won't refuse you."
Her words came out in a rush, and her face was completely flushed, eyes darting away in embarrassment.
Alexander, on the other hand, stood there dumbfounded, unsure how to respond to such honesty.
"Women, why is your mind built so differently?" Alexander sighed, running a hand through his hair as he tried to calm his thoughts.
He sat down on the edge of the bed, now close enough that their shoulders nearly touched.
"You perverted girl," he muttered, narrowing his eyes slightly as he reached over and gently pinched her nose.
"Did you really think I brought you here to do something bad?"
Aeloria froze, stunned by his words. She blinked at him, confused.
If he had not brought her here for that, then what was the reason? Her heart thumped as she waited for an explanation.
Seeing her clueless expression, Alexander felt even more overwhelmed. She truly had no idea how much she was flustering him.
But in his heart, he found her even more lovable. Despite the pain from her cramps, she had still been willing to offer herself, thinking it might please him.
"What courage," he growled inwardly, a mix of admiration and exasperation swirling in his chest.
"Look," Alexander said firmly, his tone gentle but serious.
"I brought you here to rest. Don't do anything reckless like cleaning or cooking today. It's only going to make the pain worse."
Hearing that, Aeloria felt her face grow even hotter. Her head lowered slightly as guilt bubbled inside her.
Her thoughts had wandered too far, and now she felt ashamed for even thinking such things.
Alexander noticed her embarrassment and let out a quiet sigh. He reached out and slid his hand gently through her hair, brushing it back with care.
"I'll go prepare something," he said as he stood up. "Just wait here and take it easy for a while."
As Alexander returned to the kitchen, he walked over to the stove to check what Aeloria had been cooking.
To his relief, it was already finished. All the ingredients seemed to have been added properly, which was a blessing since he had no idea how to cook.
Letting out a soft sigh, he turned off the stove.
After a brief pause, he walked over to the cabinet and opened it. Inside, he found a small sachet of milk powder.
He tore it open, poured the contents into a cup, and then filled it with water, carefully mixing it until it was smooth.
After preparing the drink, Alexander picked up a light towel and made his way back to the room.
When he stepped inside, he saw Aeloria lying quietly on the bed, her eyes fixed on the ceiling. She looked calm, lost in thought, and the sight made him nod in quiet appreciation.
Only a few minutes had passed, but it already felt peaceful.
Alexander returned to her side, holding a warm mug in his hands. A gentle steam rose from it, curling lightly in the air as he approached.
"I wasn't sure what else would help, but this should warm you up," he said, crouching beside her.
Aeloria blinked in surprised. Her fingers curled around the mug, and as the warmth seeped into her hands, some of the tension in her shoulders eased.
Her heart felt warm, its much warmer than the coffee mug of water itself.
"Thank you," she murmured, voice barely above a whisper.
Alexander smiled softly as he handed her the mug, "You can hold it to your stomach if the pain gets worse," he said.
Then he sat beside her, his voice calm and reassuring, "Or just drink it. Either way."
Following his suggestion, Aeloria lifted the mug and took a small sip.
The milk was warm, but not too hot, Alexander had wrapped the cup in a light towel to protect her hands from the heat.
As the liquid touched her tongue, a soft breath escaped her lips.
She had not even realized how tense she was until that moment, and the simple warmth seemed to ease something deep within her.
The warmth spread through her chest, calming something she could not quite name.
"This actually helps," she said quietly, her eyes still fixed on the mug. Her voice was softer now and more relaxed.
"Well, that's good," Alexander replied with a faint smile.
He was about to stand when he felt a gentle tug on his hand. Her fingers curled lightly around his, stopping him.
"Can you open the buttons?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Her head was lowered, and she did not dare meet his eyes, "I can't do it while holding the mug."
Hearing her request, Alexander felt his breath tighten slightly in his chest. Still, he did as she asked.
With careful movements, he began unbuttoning her shirt, starting from the bottom and working his way up.
His movements were slow and gentle, respectful yet focused. But as he reached her midsection and continued upward, her two peaks came into view.
The soft curves of her body were now visible, only covered by a simple white bra that did little to hide their fullness.
Aeloria's face turned bright red. Her eyes widened slightly as she quickly spoke up, in a flustered tone.
"I meant just the lower part. Just around my abdomen," she said, her voice trembling with embarrassment.
Hearing her correction, Alexander felt a wave of embarrassment crash over him. He immediately tried to cover her chest again, flustered by his mistake.
"Don't bother," Aeloria said, her cheeks glowing with a deep blush.
"It's already out, and you've seen it anyway, so it's no big deal."
Her voice was soft but steady, though her face betrayed just how embarrassed she truly was.
Alexander felt as if a drum had struck against his ears. He took a deep breath, forcing himself to stay composed despite the heat rising in his chest.
In the end, he left her white shirt open, revealing the smooth expanse of her stomach and her upper body.
It was not fully exposed, since her breast remained modestly covered by the plain white bra, but the sight was enough to make his thoughts race.
Her skin was soft and pale, almost glowing in the morning light. Alexander could not help himself.
His hand moved gently, sliding across her abdomen, caressing the delicate surface as if it were a work of art carved by the gods themselves.
"Alright, this is going bad. I'm not watching anymore," muttered Yuno, who had been quietly observing the scene through his spirit sense.
He immediately withdrew his perception, feeling flustered as he shifted his attention back to the living room, where the little girl Anya was still sitting on the couch, watching television.
Anya remained completely unaware of Yuno's invisible presence nearby, her legs swaying back and forth as she stayed absorbed in her morning cartoon.
