Immortal Creed
Chapter 186: Changes
The White Space.
In the previous instance, Atel became unresponsive after masturbating five or six times, as if numb.
Even if she were to continue masturbating in a short period, she wouldn't be able to reach the peak of desire as before; it would be difficult to even achieve half the previous effect.
So, Liens temporarily let Atel go, exited the instance, and returned to the white space to organize the research findings he had obtained from her.
Currently, through observing and researching Atel's several masturbating processes, he had two findings from her.
First, the elemental structure of the Y-pattern, but this was useless.
He had experimented on himself, and for him, that curse was merely a simple pattern, at most accompanied by a glowing effect.
Other than that, he did not experience the phenomenon of his body becoming sensitive, unlike Atel.
This also confirmed the explanation he gave Atel—the curse was not important; what was important was the special power that formed a connection with Atel.
Second, the process by which that special power transformed the body... this was very interesting, but he hadn't thoroughly researched it yet.
In his opinion, the process of body transformation was very similar to how an ordinary person becomes an Extraordinary One; by analogy, it was actually not much different from Knight elemental transformation.
Perhaps a Succubus is an Extraordinary creature equivalent to a Knight.
If he could obtain the complete bodily changes during the transformation process and make certain modifications, he might be able to obtain an Extraordinary profession different from that of a Knight.
It's even possible that this Extraordinary profession already has existence somewhere in this world.
After all, people like Atel, who are afflicted by the Y-pattern, are not isolated cases. He felt that someone should be curious and undertake research—how a Succubus is born.
Liens could only evaluate these two findings as a double-edged sword.
The first goes without saying; although the second was somewhat interesting, he himself was already a Knight and no longer needed a new Extraordinary profession.
Naturally, there was no need to spend more time and energy to acquire something that wouldn't be of much use to him.
Moreover, it might cause Atel's curse to drag on for too long, ultimately leading to her irreversible transformation into a Succubus.
"What is the essence of that power? And how does it appear?"
Liens muttered softly to himself.
The answers to these two questions were what he truly wanted to know. Unfortunately, although he sensed the existence of that power, he couldn't truly come into contact with it.
"Seven days."
"If there's still no progress after seven days, it means that thing is beyond what I can research clearly now. I'll have to leave it until I have the capability in the future."
Liens set a deadline for himself: first, to avoid wasting too much time getting bogged down in it, and second, to avoid delaying Atel's treatment.
After speaking, Liens started the next instance and continued his research on Atel.
...
Days and nights passed, and several days went by.
Liens sat at a dining table in the cafeteria, absentmindedly chewing his food while pondering in his mind how the next round of experiments should proceed.
"What's wrong?"
"You look so lost in thought; you're not even serious about eating."
Nimophila, sitting opposite him, saw Liens's appearance and curiously asked what he was thinking about.
In fact, Liens's absentmindedness was very common.
Previously, she had also asked Liens about it, and the reply she received was—thinking about the elemental structure of magic, or comprehending his own connection with heaven and earth.
But she rarely saw Liens spacing out while eating, because he cherished food.
So, she was a bit curious about what was important enough to distract Liens at this moment.
"I'm pondering the essence of a special power."
Liens replied seriously.
Nimophila's reminder made him put down the experiment in his mind. He felt there was no need to be so anxious.
There was still some time left in the seven-day deadline, and if he really couldn't figure it out, then so be it. It wasn't something he absolutely had to understand, so there was no need to squeeze out his mealtime for it.
"What power?"
Nimophila was puzzled.
"I'll have to tell you about this later."
Liens replied.
However, as he replied, an idea arose in his mind: to have Nimophila help with the research in the instance.
Four days had passed, and his research on Atel had made no progress. He felt that introducing a new variable could bring new changes to the experiment.
Nimophila didn't mind. She rested her hands on the table, supporting her face, a faint smile on her lips, and her eyes somewhat distant as she watched Liens, who had returned to normal, slowly savoring his food.
"What's wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?"
Liens swallowed a mouthful of rice, then looked at Nimophila in confusion.
Hearing this question, Nimophila chuckled softly, then mysteriously asked Liens, "Have you felt any changes in yourself?" My V+i%r^tu@al% Lib@r&ary E#m-p+i!r$e (M!|!V|!L%0&E%M$P%Y!R) ho$st^s the o%ri@gi!n+a%l$.
"Changes?"
Liens was even more confused.
He then carefully examined his body and the elements within, but found no changes.
"Hehe."
Watching Liens continuously check his body up and down, Nimophila couldn't help but beam with joy, covering her mouth as she laughed.
"That's enough, no need to check."
"I know you don't pay attention, but I didn't expect you wouldn't even look in a mirror."
"A few days ago, didn't we sign that contract... now the influence of 'divinity' on you is gradually becoming apparent."
"You are slowly becoming more handsome, little by little, right now."
"Perhaps in a few more days, you'll become a handsome young man, and by then... hehe."
Nimophila laughed as she answered Liens's confusion. As she spoke, she couldn't help but let out a silly giggle, as if she had thought of something wonderful.
"Contract? Divinity? Changes?"
"So that's it. No wonder I could never come into contact with that special power... it turns out it's because my strength is too weak and my realm is too low."
Liens said, suddenly enlightened.
He didn't pay attention to the change in appearance Nimophila mentioned, but rather thought of the experiment on Atel.
From the observed phenomena, the bodily changes brought about by the Life contract he signed with Nimophila were very similar to the transformations on Atel.
It was just that the changes in his body were not as thorough as Atel's.
Therefore, by analogy, the power affecting Atel's body is very likely some kind of divinity, or a power of the same level as divinity.
For him, a mere Knight, to try and understand such a high-tier power was simply wishful thinking.
However, although these past few days were almost a waste, Liens hadn't had time to feel any frustration.
Because a new idea quickly popped into his mind.
This idea was so groundbreaking that he even lost the desire to eat.
"Nimophila, I have an idea I need to verify. I'm leaving first."
Liens seriously bid farewell to Nimophila, then quickly got up and left the cafeteria, rushing back to his room like a gust of wind, even forgetting the Dean's instructions.
"I was still thinking of asking him to check on Teacher Atel's situation with me after dinner."
"It seems I'll have to go by myself."
Nimophila sighed.
Earlier, when Liens said there was something abnormal about Atel, she went to ask the Dean. After several days of investigation, Atel's identity was indeed that of an ordinary Knight who had just retired from the Royal Capital Knight Order.
She felt that Atel must have been afflicted by some power or had something special about her, so she thought of asking Liens, who had a more sensitive perception, to help take a look again.
