Immortal through Beast Taming
Chapter 82 - 11: Flying Leaf Spatial Technique!
CHAPTER 82: CHAPTER 11: FLYING LEAF SPATIAL TECHNIQUE!
"A ghostly prodigy of the same clan!"
"How can a grass without awakened intelligence be considered a prodigy!"
Lin Jing felt that Elder Shen Song was really off.
It seemed like he really wanted Lin Jing to become a "Demon Cultivator."
It was as if he had jumped into the water and wanted to drag others in with him.
Mo Song, in a tone of exasperation, said, "I’ve already agreed to help you, yet you still don’t seize the opportunity."
"Dragging it out like this, once the hundred-year protection period ends, you won’t even form a pill, and my first experience as a protector would be a disgrace."
Lin Jing took a deep breath, and after careful consideration said, "Very well."
"Since the elder has said so, please lend us your assistance!"
"It’s okay to lose a prodigy of your clan, just don’t let the Pine Rodent get into trouble!"
"That’s more like it." The pinecone that Mo Song had transformed into cracked open with satisfaction.
Lin Jing convinced himself.
A mature fifth-grade Spatial Spirit Grass, though incredibly rare and effective, they didn’t know how long they would have to wait to use it.
So why not use it right now!
Let the Pine Rodent acquire stronger combat power early on; it’s also a strategy.
If it really manages to bash that Divine Body during the examination, it would gain great fame.
The latent dragon mark might immediately enter the next stage!
A higher-grade latent dragon mark could amplify their cultivation magic even faster, thereby making their powers significantly stronger in a short period!
With greater strength, if other opportunities arise, they could grasp them better.
By then, their strength would snowball, growing ever larger.
Conversely, hoarding a pile of resources only to perish midway, leaving them for others, is a common occurrence in the Cultivation Realm.
The greatest regret in cultivation is that upon a person’s fall, their resources are left to the enemy.
If the worst outcome is losing a Spirit Grass that was basically found, it doesn’t seem terribly bad.
"Thank you, elder." Lin Jing expressed his gratitude as Shen Song was willing to help.
"Ah, if I were more familiar with you humans’ demon arts, I’d have already guided your Longevity Body to switch to ’Burning Life’ and ’Sacrificing Longevity’ demon arts; they’d definitely be faster than the Beast Taming Technique!" Mo Song said regretfully.
"The Beast Taming Technique is pretty good." Lin Jing coughed awkwardly.
"It’s not bad, even though it’s a cultivation technique practiced by caretakers of horses in the Immortal Palace; it’s at least connected to the Immortal Palace, which is much stronger than the native techniques of the Celestial Essence Continent." Mo Song affirmed.
No time to lose, Lin Jing immediately summoned the Pine Rodent.
Upon hearing it could eat the Void Escape Grass now, it immediately showed reluctance.
After all, it had taken care of the grass for a long time, developing feelings for it.
"Squeak..." It originally thought of letting the Void Escape Grass propagate a bunch of descendants and hoard a pile of Void Escape Grass before consuming it all at once, but now it means leaving no offspring.
"You think too highly! My Cyan Emperor Longevity Technique is far more profound than yours and I can’t control the Void Escape Grass’s reproduction; how could you, a little squirrel, even hope to?" Shen Song cut off the Pine Rodent’s thoughts.
Hearing this, the Pine Rodent sighed, then just decided to eat it...
It re-entered the floating gourd, pulled out the sprout-like white Void Escape Grass, grasped it in hand, then returned outside, its bright green eyes looking at Lin Jing and the pinecone, asking how to eat it.
The pinecone that Shen Song had transformed into swept the Void Escape Grass and the Pine Rodent with his Divine Sense, then said, "First take out a hundred grains of golden Spirit Rice, eat ten grains, and set aside the other ninety grains."
Pine Rodent: ???
"Squeak!!!" The Pine Rodent was startled, eating ten grains of golden Spirit Rice—it was scared it would go mad with hunger and want to eat even the pinecone in front of it!
"Use the Cyan Emperor Longevity Technique to suppress and balance the golden Spirit Rice and Void Escape Grass, eat rice when full, digest grass when hungry, then eat rice again, and digest grass when hungry, repeating this cycle!"
"Just follow the instructions; I’ll intervene if anything unexpected happens."
Shen Song’s instructions were fairly easy to understand, and the Pine Rodent understood it was in store for some intervention, looking resigned.
"Any more questions? Not enough Spirit Rice? Synthesize it now!" Shen Song urged as he noticed the Pine Rodent’s hesitation.
"That shouldn’t be it. The biggest problem now is asking it to take out so much golden rice at once; it’s a bit reluctant." Lin Jing, as the Pine Rodent’s Beast Master, understood it better than Shen Song.
"Eat up! A flower is a world, a leaf a Bodhi. Have you forgotten?" Lin Jing said, "Perhaps after digesting the Void Escape Grass, you’ll open up a space within a leaf."
"Squeak!!!!" Upon hearing this, the Pine Rodent’s eyes, like the recovering Dragon Carp next to it, burned with fiery determination.
It gritted its teeth, and for the sake of the internal leaf space, took out its entire stash of golden Spirit Rice, piling it aside; instead of just a hundred, there were over a thousand grains, causing Mo Song to split open with surprise.
"Really now, why does this little squirrel have so much of this stuff? Given that there’s so much, why hesitate to take out just a hundred grains!" Mo Song couldn’t comprehend.
The Pine Rodent didn’t want to explain.
Their paths were different; they couldn’t communicate.
Then... it grabbed a fistful of golden Spirit Rice and resolutely tossed it into its mouth.
In the next instant, its bright green eyes completely turned crimson, and the rumbling sound from its stomach was like rolling thunder, startling the nearby Dragon Carp.
The Dragon Carp jumped back a few steps, afraid that later the squirrel might eat it too.
"Better tie you up first." After eating the golden Spirit Rice, the Pine Rodent immediately followed by eating the Void Escape Grass. Then, to prevent any extreme behavior like "eating people," "eating fish," or "eating pinecones," Shen Song controlled several tree branches to restrain the Pine Rodent in place, allowing it only to reach the Spirit Rice beside it.
With this, Lin Jing closed his eyes because of the bloodline contract he shared with the Pine Rodent; unlike when the Dragon Carp’s bloodline awakened and he couldn’t empathize, he could now roughly feel the changes in the Pine Rodent.
Upon entering a perceiving state, Lin Jing found his vision entirely covered by a silvery-white "waterfall," as mysterious silver material washed over the Pine Rodent’s body, seemingly threatening to overwhelm it.
Inside its body, the green-golden True Qi resembled a sturdy fortress, resisting, dissolving the silver material while also absorbing and integrating it.
Externally, the Pine Rodent’s body appeared to glow, with green-golden light intertwined with the silver, radiating a faintly mysterious aura, as if it were on the brink of "existence" and "non-existence."
After the Pine Rodent entered this wondrous state, Lin Jing was also pulled into it, time passing swiftly. Seeing this scene, the nearby Shen Song was slightly taken aback.
It "looked" at the only one still conscious, the Dragon Carp: "Your Beast Master and your ’senior pine squirrel’ both have high talents for sensing space."
"If they have the potential for ’Divinity Transformation,’ this talent should be of great assistance."
"Plop..." The Dragon Carp flipped over, somewhat resistant to Shen Song, who had beaten it up for several days.
Time ticked by slowly.
By the seventh day, the mysterious silver substance no longer burdened the Pine Rodent’s body.
By the tenth day, it had completely digested the Void Escape Grass. Although its cultivation hadn’t changed dramatically, its perception of space seemed sharper.
Maintaining this sense, it instinctively took out a red leaf, holding it, and two more days passed before it slowly opened its eyes.
"How do you feel?" Lin Jing, who had stayed by its side, also opened his eyes. Over these ten days, Lin Jing felt some changes within himself, though he couldn’t distinctly articulate what had changed.
He could only look toward the Pine Rodent, as it was the one absorbing the resources.
Over these ten-plus days, the Pine Rodent felt muddled, consuming unknown quantities of Spirit Rice to suppress the Void Escape Grass’s power, repeatedly sensing external intervention, which likely was Shen Song using the Cyan Emperor Longevity Technique to aid it!
"Squeak..." The Pine Rodent held the red leaf, slightly dazed, not sensing any internal space had formed within it, and felt immensely sorrowful.
"Why are you crying!" Shen Song asked, "How do you feel exactly!"
"Although the Void Escape Grass isn’t a Spirit Plant that directly benefits human cultivators when consumed, you’re different; as a wood-attribute spirit beast, not human, you already have some spatial insights, and the Cyan Emperor Longevity Technique helped you devour, you shouldn’t have gained nothing, right?" Mo Song focused intently on the Pine Rodent, hoping its considerable efforts hadn’t been in vain.
Hearing this, the Pine Rodent hesitated slightly.
"Squeak..."
It slowly tossed the flying leaf, which instantly soared into the sky...
In the next moment.
Its figure suddenly vanished, appearing next to the red flying leaf as a coordinate, catching the leaf and standing tall in the sky!
"Spatial Instant Teleportation Technique? No, it’s incomplete, with defects, and requires the spatial red leaf as a coordinate!"
