Immortality Begins with Breathing Exercises
Chapter 95 - 65: Cultivation and Experimentation
CHAPTER 95: CHAPTER 65: CULTIVATION AND EXPERIMENTATION
Lin Zheyu strolled around and selected a reliable shop. He sold off the jewelry he had as well as some unused hidden weapons and poison powder, fetching a total of one hundred and seventy-eight taels of silver.
"Not bad, over a hundred taels of silver added to the account again."
"Indeed, honestly working can earn some money, but all kinds of crooked ways bring money faster," Lin Zheyu muttered to himself.
The black market was open from dusk till dawn, with a constant stream of people leaving and entering throughout the night.
Lin Zheyu did not stay until morning. After selling off his items, he left.
Although the black market had all sorts of things, it did not have what he needed.
He walked out of the old house.
The moment Lin Zheyu stepped out, he felt dozens of malicious gazes fall upon him.
He scanned the area but saw no one; they were all hidden in the surrounding forest.
In the black market, fighting is prohibited, but outside the black market, no one cares.
Robbing and being robbed depend entirely on one’s own skills.
Lin Zheyu glanced at the forest and walked casually towards the distance.
"Big brother, should we go for it?"
In the forest, five sturdy men gathered together, and the man on the left asked in a low voice.
They also needed to pick their targets carefully; if they were careless and encountered a master, they could fail. Robbing outside the black market required sharp eyes.
"Go for it!"
"Although he’s wrapped up tightly and wearing a mask so we can’t see his face, the skin on the back of his hands is extremely smooth and tender. He can’t be more than twenty-five years old."
"Even if this kid has great talent, at such a young age, how strong can he be?"
The leading man analyzed.
His judgment was excellent; he was very proficient at estimating people’s ages, and he had succeeded easily several times.
"Let’s go. We better not let others get there first!"
Upon hearing the leader’s analysis, someone eagerly suggested.
They moved quickly, heading in the direction Lin Zheyu had gone.
After the five men set off, three more masked men in black emerged from the forest and followed.
In the moonlight, a chilly wind blew.
The tree branches swayed, casting flickering shadows.
Lin Zheyu walked on a remote path, not fast, the bundle tied at his waist bulging, filled with one hundred and seventy-eight taels of silver.
His expression changed slightly, sensing the movement from behind.
Eight people were coming, moving extremely fast, closing in on him quickly.
"Still targeted," Lin Zheyu smirked coldly.
He disliked slaughter but didn’t mind it either.
Lin Zheyu did not bring a sword; the long sword Han Mo gave him was quite distinctive. However, he carried plenty of throwing knives, just for situations like this.
With his right hand, he reached into his pouch and pulled out eight flashing cold-glint throwing knives.
"Big brother, he’s stopped, seems like he’s waiting for us. Do we still go for it?"
The five men looked at Lin Zheyu, who had stopped in the distance, feeling a trace of fear rise in their hearts.
This person knew he was being targeted, yet chose not to run instead stood his ground; there must be something odd about it.
"What are you afraid of? He’s surely bluffing. I’ve seen plenty like him!" another man said impatiently.
"Not good, he’s charging towards us!"
The man who had been watching Lin Zheyu closely exclaimed in shock.
Whoosh
Whoosh whoosh whoosh.
Before they could turn to flee, five silver-white glowing throwing knives shot towards them at an astonishing speed out of the night.
Thud thud thud
The sound of blades piercing flesh echoed, as eight screams shattered the silence of the night.
Not only the five stout men, but the three others who had just caught up were also hit by Lin Zheyu’s throwing knives.
"Damn, we ran into a tough one!"
This was the last thought of the man in the lead.
As he struggled to continue running, a second throwing knife pierced diagonally into the back of his head, shattering bones and blood splattering.
The screams faded, and the night returned to silence, with only the sound of the cold wind howling.
Lin Zheyu walked over, searched the bodies of the eight people, and found many hidden weapons, poison powder, and fifty-eight taels of silver.
"Money really comes quickly like this!"
Holding the money, Lin Zheyu couldn’t help but remark.
Once, he worried about not having money to buy Blood-Nourishing and Bone-Strengthening Soup. Unexpectedly, now he could make fifty-something taels just by walking down the road.
After organizing the things from the few people, Lin Zheyu turned back to the black market.
The people hidden outside the old house saw Lin Zheyu return and their expressions changed slightly, a sense of relief rising in their hearts.
Good thing they didn’t make a move just now.
After selling the items from a few people, he earned thirteen taels of silver.
Lin Zheyu thought for a moment and got himself a cloak and a hat with a black veil in the black market, changing his attire.
Walking out of the old house, this time Lin Zheyu acted somewhat timidly, his steps were nervous, breathing a bit rapid, just like a rookie.
But even after he walked quite far, no one seemed to follow, making Lin Zheyu slightly disappointed.
"Maybe I should go back and finish off those guys?"
Lin Zheyu had a thought creep into his mind.
Those guys were definitely not good people, so there would be little guilt in killing them.
So, he went back again.
But when he sneaked back into the forest and reached the place where those people had just hidden, he found that they had all run away!
The plan fell through.
These people were extremely sharp; they fled at the first hint of trouble.
