Immortality Starts From Making Money.
Chapter 322 322: Arrival of the Qiu Ancestor.
Two people flew over the Desert of Fallen at lightning-fast speed. They cut through the air like blazing comets.
Their speed was so rapid that ordinary eyes could scarcely keep up with them. In a few minutes, they had left the Desert of Fallen behind, racing toward the Southern Region border.
Soon they arrived at the Southern Region border and reduced their speed. Standing in the sky, an old woman with gray hair looked down at the garrison, a trace of shock flickering across her features.
Beside her stood a young, beautiful woman. She too was stunned by the sight of the fortified garrison.
Among the warriors guarding the garrison, the young woman recognized some faces. "Why are they guarding the border?" she wondered, confusion gnawing at her.
The evil cultivators were running rampant across the continent, and every region was scrambling to secure its land. Why would the Southern Region not defend their own territory and instead focus on guarding the border?
Could they have really toppled the evil sects?
"Interesting…" the old woman muttered, gripping the young woman's hand as they vanished from their spot.
On the ground, the Nine Mountain Sect Master and the Wind Spirit Sect Master sat beneath an ancient tree, enjoying the gentle breeze.
Unknown to them, they had just been spied upon by a terrifying powerhouse.
In the Southern Capital city, life was peaceful. Stores and restaurants bustled with customers. On the broad street, pedestrians and peddlers moved with smiles on their faces.
The city had begun to recover from the destruction wrought by the evil sect. Many ordinary people had even forgotten the initial threat posed by the evil cultivators.
Now, many discussed their friends on Hi-Cloud or debated how to increase their own popularity.
Walking among the pedestrians, the old woman and the young beauty could not hide their shock. How could this be possible?
"How is this possible?" the old woman muttered, unable to hide her astonishment.
With her age, she had seen many extraordinary things, and she believed only a few things could ever truly astonish her. Yet she never expected that a tiny region could shock her so deeply.
The young woman was equally stunned, but she recovered quickly when she remembered the last conversation she had with her man.
"I guess she wasn't lying," she whispered with a bright, anticipatory smile on her cherry lips.
"Now, I can't wait to meet him again," the old woman said, her face filled with anticipation.
Perhaps they still held a way to change the continent's situation. Quickly the two arrived at the tallest and most majestic building in the commercial district.
Reading the plaque, the young woman's excitement surged. She longed to rush inside the chamber to reveal herself to him but managed to restrain herself.
Under the protection of her ancestor, people could not see them.
"I know how you feel," the old woman said, shaking her head. "We have more matters to attend to."
"Ancestor, I understand," she nodded.
The old woman nodded in return. "Notify him of our arrival."
With that, she drew out her Noble Grade Spirit Link and sent a message. "Done."
Upon sending the message, the old woman lowered the concealment around them, and everyone passing by saw them.
Hmm?
Everyone was stunned. How could they appear out of thin air?
Many were puzzled, but remembering where the two women stood, most chose to ignore them and focus on their own affairs.
Creak!
The door opened, and Zhao Tian appeared. His gaze settled on the beautiful young woman before shifting to the old woman.
"Miss Qiu, welcome," Zhao Tian said with an amicable smile. "Please follow me. The Young Master is already waiting for you."
With that, he turned and led them into the Thousand Wealth Chamber. They could have entered discreetly under the concealment technique, but doing so would have left a bad impression.
Swiftly they arrived on the highest floor and entered a lavishly decorated room.
Seated behind the wooden table, Mo Jian rose to his feet as the two arrived.
"Ancestor, welcome. I hope the journey was not tiring," Mo Jian said with a calm smile.
He turned his gaze to Qiu Yan. "How have you been?"
"Kid, I never knew you hid this deep," the ancestor teased with a playful smile.
Mo Jian offered only a noncommittal smile as he began to brew spirit tea for the elder. He would not have done this if he had not become engaged to Qiu Yan.
He served the ancestor the spirit tea and took his seat. Receiving the cup, she nodded, pleased with Mo Jian's courtesy.
She raised the tea cup and took a sip. The warm liquid traveled down her throat, and her expression changed immediately.
Quickly she closed her eyes briefly to savor the taste and activated her cultivator technique.
Looking at her ancestor, Qiu Yan knew that what Mo Jian had given her was no ordinary tea, and she could not help but be happy.
"This is incredible!" the ancestor exclaimed as she opened her eyes.
She had thought the previous spirit tea given to them by Mo Jian was magical.
Who would have imagined there was even more magical tea? The ancestor regarded Mo Jian for a moment before speaking. "Thank you."
Mo Jian might be her junior and engaged to her descendant; it was not compulsory for him to show them all this goodwill. Yet this was Mo Jian treating them with genuine kindness.
"Ancestor, this is nothing. Yan is my woman, and it is right to treat her ancestor well," Mo Jian replied with a calm, confident smile.
"Right, right," she nodded. "Now, I know she is the lucky one." She teased, glancing at Qiu Yan.
Feeling the ancestor's gaze, Qiu Yan lowered her head, her cheeks flushing, and her heart beating faster.
When she did not yet know the depth of the Thousand Wealth Chamber, she had not considered Mo Jian in any romantic light.
But as she drew closer to him, she discovered how unfathomable he was.
Being betrothed to him was more than she could have imagined, and it filled her with immense joy.
Looking at the confident and handsome young man beside her, her belly fluttered with butterflies.
Unknown to her, a flower had begun to bloom in her heart, growing with each passing second.
