Chapter 17: The First Sister of Second High School, Lin Chuxiao!
CHAPTER 17: CHAPTER 17: THE FIRST SISTER OF SECOND HIGH SCHOOL, LIN CHUXIAO!
Orphan, there’s no need to mention where she came from. All those high-class manners are just a joke. Could she really have taught herself?
But that natural poise and upbringing, who would have thought of that? Perhaps Sui Yi herself didn’t realize how easily others could overlook her background.
"Hey, let’s eat first. She’s just in the next class, so there will be plenty of opportunities to get to know her!"
Yu Hang hadn’t known that Sui Yi, from the class next door, had such a side to her before at school... it was good that he happened to take the bus that time, or he would have missed it.
He had eaten and was pondering his future days when Sui Yi was blocked.
Blocked at the entrance to Little Garden Path.
Four girls, it seemed they were from the next class.
One girl was very famous—Lin Chuxiao, known for being fierce at Second High School.
"What do you want?" Sui Yi stopped in her tracks.
"What do I want? You have the nerve to ask!" Lin Chuxiao swung her palm at her! The other three girls charged at her!
Their approach was rugged and forceful, skipping any confrontation, it was clear they had a definite purpose!
Sui Yi furrowed her brow, dodged by leaning back, and as they tried to charge again, she said, "Yu Hang?"
"Yes... you are in class two, but you’re all tangled up with Yu Hang, and even had lunch with him, I warn you..."
Sui Yi was shocked inside, her and Yu Hang? Today was even the first time they met...
But she really didn’t want to explain that, as it would only make these few even angrier. She thought for a moment, then smiled softly, a smile that greatly eased the hostility.
The four of them were stunned, their expressions uneasy, but they didn’t make a move.
"What are you laughing at!"
"Nothing, just that you’re mistaken. Actually, he once took the bus before and didn’t bring any money, so I casually gave him two dollars, and today he was here to return it..."
What? Is that so?
"But..."
"He didn’t treat me to the meal, I paid for it myself. If you keep bothering me, it might lead others to misunderstand, and spreading it wouldn’t be good"
Indeed, there was originally nothing between them, but if these girls caused trouble for Sui Yi, wouldn’t that just spread rumors that she had something to do with Yu Hang?
Maybe riding on this wave, Yu Hang would really end up with her...
Talking about this Sui Yi...
Lin Chuxiao stared at Sui Yi’s face, paused for a while, and felt more and more that this person was not bad-looking; maybe Yu Hang would really take a liking to her...
Maybe it’s better to drop it coldly~~
"Chuxiao, what should we do..." someone tugged at Lin Chuxiao’s sleeve, indeed making her hesitate to escalate the matter, especially since they were seniors now, and it wouldn’t sound good if it got out.
Lin Chuxiao stood tall, her height at one-sixty-seven, towering over Sui Yi. With her hands crossed in front of her chest, she was more imposing compared to the other three girls. Moreover, her striking appearance, aggressive yet gorgeous, high status, and dominant personality made the others definitely look up to her.
"Considering your usual behavior, you’re quite well-behaved and low-profile, I’ll trust you this time, but if it happens again..."
Lin Chuxiao reached out to grab a flower from a nearby pot, squeezing it forcefully... the petals were crushed one by one..
It was ruthless, nothing less.
"Do you understand?" she glared coldly at Sui Yi.
Sui Yi watched this scene, her eyes flickering slightly. After a while, she nodded her head and then stepped into the Little Garden Path. Hesitating slightly, she eventually said, "That’s the principal’s ’Moonlit Rose’."
Then she gracefully left.
The others went quiet for a moment, then suddenly exclaimed!
"Ah, the principal’s!!!"
"What should we do, what should we do, what should we do!"
"Ah, Sister Chu Xiao, you’re bleeding from your hand!"
"Fuck! What are you screaming for! Run! Wait, help me remove the thorn, it fucking hurts so much! Why didn’t you remind me it was a rose!"
Sister, given how fiercely you acted just now, how could we possibly intervene in time!
––––––––––––––––––––––––––
Second High School was considered one of the tops schools in Nanxun Town, so the rules were strict. You had to nap at noon, but whether you read, did homework, or slept during that time was up to you, especially during the high school years. Teachers were well aware of those who could afford to study and those who could not.
Sui Yi was one of those lingering on the edge, whether or not she studied depended on her, and the teachers did not intervene. So, she spent all her nap time there, napping.
Her body seemed to be changing because of that tiny fragment; the change was noticeable, most obviously in her increasing sleepiness, which she had felt since the morning in Little Lotus Village, and once at school, during the English reading classes, it became even more evident...
However, she was not aware that she would also experience leg cramps, which suddenly woke her from a deep sleep, causing her to accidentally grab the book under her hand, making a slight noise. She opened her eyes and instinctively reached for her leg.
Aside from the cramp, it seemed like her joints were locked in place, causing a dull pain.
The feeling was indeed strange.
"What’s wrong?"
"Hmm? Nothing..." Sui Yi turned her head and saw Yhan Qingwu frowning at her, her delicate pale face filled with slight confusion—perhaps her reaction had been a bit much?
Fortunately, only Yhan Qingwu had noticed.
"Did I disturb you?" Sui Yi glanced at the physics workbook on her desk, the complex paragraphs of text were quite dizzying. These problems didn’t seem to come from the school, did she buy them separately?
"Not at all, I was also spacing out," Yhan Qingwu’s words were comforting, making one feel at ease, though Sui Yi was the only one who felt comfortable.
But she did not continue the conversation and instead gently massaged her calf joints, frowning.
Sleepiness and calf cramps, was her body developing?
She was currently five feet three inches tall, which placed her in the middle range among high school girls, but her face was tender, looking undernourished and poorly developed with a flat figure.
But no one knew she was nearly 18 years old and had yet to develop, that is, she had never experienced "that sort of thing" for girls.
She knew this was not normal, but she didn’t want to dwell on it, as the potential consequences didn’t seem significant to her.
Perhaps she was just extremely uncertain about the future.
–––––––––
In the afternoon class, Sui Yi still occasionally thought about this, but she wasn’t too distracted, mainly because she planned to put some effort into studying.
The class was about chemistry.
Sui Yi’s grades were really not very good, as it was a science subject, her chemistry, physics, and geography were all poor, whereas her Chinese and English were excellent, and math was above average. Since science composite took up a major part of the score, it naturally dragged her total score down significantly.
Especially since she had not spent much time on her studies in the past two years, and she was aware that she was quite odd—aside from some physical issues, her brain was also not normal.
That was why she had never agreed to Elder Tang’s suggestion to enter the antiques business, because she knew her condition would make her unsuccessful in that field.
––Her short-term memory was terrifyingly good, yet she could easily forget everything she had previously memorized.
Perhaps this might not seem significant to others, but her condition was particularly severe. (Girl, guess what’s wrong with Sui Yi’s brain?)
–––––––––
Sui Yi looked up to see the chemistry teacher writing chemical equations on the board, the densely packed equations seemed etched in her mind’s membrane; she could recall all of them in a glance, just unsure if it would last a day or two.
Chalk dust drifted down from the blackboard, heads bowed or tilted up, each with a gentle arc.
"Can’t delay anymore, otherwise I really won’t be able to catch up in the final year," she sighed softly, not wanting to step into society early, as she did not want another disruption in her life.
The ballpoint pen circled points on the book, wrote lines on the notes, and checked boxes on the test papers.
Yhan Qingwu wrote a big heading, her eyelashes trembled slightly, she slightly tilted her head; Sui Yi glanced at the handwriting of the person next to her, watching those slender and elegant strokes produce a faint sound with graceful movements, and she was slightly mesmerized.
Tap, the pen abruptly stopped.
Out of ink.
Sui Yi sighed, out of a pen.
"Here," a pen was pushed toward her from the side. Yhan Qingwu smiled softly at her, pointing at the words under her pen.
"Your handwriting is very nice."
"Thanks for your pen, and your handwriting is not bad either."
Yhan Qingwu smiled wryly. This person was interesting, wasn’t it enough to just thank her? Why did she feel the need to compliment back?
Orderly, clearly differentiated.
But she didn’t notice the expression on Sui Yi’s face when she reached for the pen, catching a glimpse of the black pearls on her hand.
