CHAPTER 24: CHAPTER 24: NO TABOOS

A light kiss, just a touch, soft, with the sharp scent of wood lingering around the nose, intertwined with a faint tobacco aroma.

At that moment, she felt the sound of a heartbeat out of control, not coming from her own body, but from him.

Fu Yinli’s expression paused slightly, and the arm resting on her waist gradually tightened. Before she could pull away, he held the back of her neck and captured her lower lip, inch by inch encroaching on her breath.

Amid the river of romantic, soothing music, their bodies silently melded together, engaged in a passionate kiss.

Eventually, the room returned to tranquility, though the lingering intimacy persisted.

Su Lingzhi nearly collapsed onto the sofa, leaning against the backrest with a faint gasp.

Soon after, his figure loomed over her.

Fu Yinli knelt on one knee beside her leg, his palm supporting the back of her neck, his hot, fiery kiss landing once again.

The gilded embroidery on his cuff reflected in the warm light, as if glowing.

Su Lingzhi clutched the silk fabric at his waist, feeling trapped in an enclosed space, unable to breathe.

Fu Yinli released her lips, his gaze falling on her tender, innocent face.

A pair of luminous eyes, clear and bright, with delicate brows and a nose, and lips that were sweetly addictive.

Never had he imagined being teased by a girl who didn’t even know how to change breaths while kissing, yet so easily being ensnared by her soul.

It seemed something was wrong somewhere.

Fu Yinli gazed deeply at the person beneath him, gently wiping away the moisture from her lips, and asked, "Do you know what kissing means?"

Su Lingzhi’s expression stalled, "Do you take me for a three-year-old child?"

"Then would you be willing to date me?"

Upon hearing this, Su Lingzhi hesitated for two seconds, suppressing the agitation at her heart’s core, and nodded slightly.

Fu Yinli straightened up and said in a deep voice, "I don’t like to see you alone with another man for more than five minutes."

... Su Lingzhi was at a loss for words,

Being her boyfriend begins with setting rules for her, does it?

She pouted with defiance, "But you let another woman sit on your lap."

Fu Yinli’s eyes deepened as he looked down to meet hers.

It seemed he hadn’t expected her to still hold a grudge about that incident.

Yet he didn’t want to tell her the truth of that night, fearing it would scare her.

He promised, "In the future, only you can sit."

As he spoke, he had already embraced her around the waist, half turned, letting her sit on his lap, "Are you still afraid of me now?"

In a position lacking security, Su Lingzhi held onto his arm, looking into those deep eyes like tranquil pools, responding, "When have I ever been afraid of you?"

Becoming increasingly unconfident.

His aura was strong, especially when his gaze was upon her, as if he would devour her, making it impossible not to be fearful.

"Do you have any taboos?" Su Lingzhi asked aloud.

"In front of you, none."

"Really?" Su Lingzhi expressed doubt at his words.

Fu Yinli said in a deep voice, "Yes."

"You said it," Su Lingzhi smiled lightly, and boldly hooked his neck, testing once more: "No matter what I do to you, you won’t get angry?"

"You can try."

Unable to withstand his scorching gaze, Su Lingzhi averted her eyes, and they embraced, necks entwined.

Just because of a dance, the thin veil between them was pierced, Su Lingzhi felt it was somewhat incredible, though she couldn’t pinpoint what was amiss.

"Let’s go downstairs to eat."

Su Lingzhi held onto him without letting go, softly saying, "Wait a moment."

She hadn’t caught her breath yet...

Later, it was Fu Yinli who led her by the hand out of the music room. Although they were now a couple, Su Lingzhi hadn’t immediately adapted to their new relationship.

Even his butler and maid felt somewhat awkward to meet.

Yet the butler and maid didn’t stare at them with odd gazes but, as usual, looked after her, not making her feel any discomfort.

And Fu Yinli sat across from her, leisurely eating dinner.

Fu Yinli met her gaze, asking, "Is the food not to your taste?"

Realizing her loss of composure, Su Lingzhi snapped back, playfully countering, "Watching you eat, it whets my appetite."

Upon those words, the butler and maid standing by chuckled quietly, covering their mouths.

Su Lingzhi became a bit reserved, silently eating the rice in her bowl.

"If you want to look, go ahead, I won’t eat you."

The voice came from across, prompting Su Lingzhi to lift her head, gradually realizing one thing, teasing him didn’t seem to bother him.

She smiled, underneath her fine brows, her amber eyes glimmering with joy, sparkling with life under the crystal light.

In the icy décor of the room, warmth seemed to seep in.

At some moment, Fu Yinli glanced up at her, calmly serving more food onto her plate.

After dinner, Fu Yinli personally drove and took her back to her apartment.

Downstairs, Su Lingzhi suddenly remembered something, asking him, "Are you interested in the Lyrae fashion show the day after tomorrow?"

"Not interested."

Three words, answered very directly.

Stopping her further words completely.

Su Lingzhi amended, "Indeed, I suppose you wouldn’t be interested in women’s fashion, so I’ll give both of the invitations I have to Xiaoxi."

"Do you want me to go?"

"No."

Gazing at her proud, lively little expression, Fu Yinli’s usually unwavering face had a touch of amusement, explaining, "The day after tomorrow, I’m not available."

Su Lingzhi nodded, "Got it, then I’m going in."

"Mm."

Fu Yinli’s eyes watched her retreating figure deeply, his expression somewhat distracted.

It seemed something was wrong somewhere...

Until she entered the apartment and turned on the light, Su Lingzhi’s heart was still in disarray.

She rushed to the balcony, looking downstairs.

At this moment, he was already back in the car, driving away, gradually swallowed by the night.

Confirming the relationship with him, not being able to immediately adapt to the change is one thing, but the happiness was real, honey continually emerging from her heart.

Before going to sleep that night, Su Lingzhi opened WeChat and sent him a goodnight sticker.

Expecting he wouldn’t see it immediately, but unexpectedly, as soon as it was sent, above the interface appeared the words the other party is typing.

Immediately after, a kissing emoji was sent over.

... Su Lingzhi’s line of sight froze momentarily, finding it hard to imagine someone as noble as him sending such an emoji.

Before, he mentioned that he couldn’t be found on WeChat, suggesting he rarely used WeChat to chat with others.

But what did he mean by sending this emoji?

A goodnight kiss?

Then, he sent a new message, explaining: [Sent by mistake.]

After waiting for a long time, no further message came from him.

Su Lingzhi opened the keyboard, typing out and sending a string of words, [What do you want to say?]

He replied on the other end: [I still prefer talking to you in person.]

Su Lingzhi smiled, guessing and asking: [Is it because you can’t imagine what tone I’m using to say this sentence, or what expression I’m making?]

At that time, Fu Yinli sat in his study, holding the phone with one hand, replied with one word: [Yes]

Su Lingzhi replied: [I’m in bed now, getting ready to sleep, goodnight~]

[Goodnight]
