CHAPTER 27: THE GENERAL AND THE PRINCE

Unfortunately, Yue Mingxuan had misjudged Mo Yi’s skill.

The man had only fallen for his trick by accident earlier.

How could he allow Yue Mingxuan to escape again?

If that happened, how could he keep his pride in front of his men?

Clearly, the others were just standing around, waiting to enjoy the show. None of them stepped in to help.

Mo Yi quickly rolled to his feet and rushed forward.

Just as Yue Mingxuan’s fingers touched the window frame and his slender body was about to leap outside, a strong hand suddenly grabbed his ankle and with a swift spin, the man flung him back.

"Bang!"

Yue Mingxuan crashed heavily to the floor and nearly blacking out.

Was he really that fragile?

Just moments ago, he had seemed like a skilled fighter.

Mo Yi hadn’t even used much strength, yet the tears that was welling in Yue Mingxuan’s eyes clearly showed that he had hit too hard.

In all his life, it was the first time Mo Yi had dealt with such a delicate man who seemed to have no strength at all.

A strange guilt filled his heart.

Just as he looked down at Yue Mingxuan with a guilty expression, Yue Mingxuan happened to lift his head.

Despite the pain making his teeth chatter and tears nearly spilling from his eyes, he still caught that look.

What the... so this brute actually felt bad for bullying the weak? If strength wouldn’t work, then maybe softness would.

As Mo Yi stepped closer again, Yue Mingxuan’s slender body trembled slightly.

His face was pale with fear, his hands gripping his robe tightly and his long lashes shadowed eyes filled with panic and helplessness.

That sight made Mo Yi who is a battle hardened general stopped in his tracks.

He doesn’t know what to do, so he glanced at his silent master.

The man’s cold eyes flashed sharply and Mo Yi quickly turned his head away hiding his guilt.

He forced his expression to harden and strode toward Yue Mingxuan again.

"Fifth Prince, forgive me. Since you offended my lord, you must learn the price of offending him."

Was he serious?

Yue Mingxuan bit back the urge to look toward Shang Qinghua.

The tears shimmered in his eyes as he spoke weakly, "Big brother... No, General, why are you bullying a weak man like me? What did I do wrong? Please... please don’t..." His voice trembled pitifully, ending in with soft sobs.

Mo Yi’s face stiffened again.

He’d actually scared such a gentle looking young man into tears. And the boy even called him "General." Using such an honorable title just to describe someone bullying an unarmed hostage this was not his style at all.

He sneaked another look at his master but was met with an even darker glare.

Useless. You can’t even handle one person. What good are you?

The others all lowered their heads quickly avoiding Shang Qinghua’s icy stare. With a helpless sigh, he was about to order something when suddenly.

"Ouch!" Mo Yi suddenly clutched his stomach and cried out, "My lord! My lord, my stomach... it’s hurts! I can’t take it anymore!"

Before Prince Shang could say a word, the man had already bolted out of sight.

Shang Qinghua turned his gaze toward another man and saying nothing.

That guard face immediately turned pale and stammered, "My lord, even a warrior has... three urgent needs. I—I can’t hold it either!"

And just like that, he too dashed out of the room.

Prince Shang’s face that was usually as beautiful as an immortal’sbinstantly turned dark with anger.

A bunch of useless men!

Where did all their killer instincts go?

He told them to deal with one person and now they were all acting like clowns in front of him.

Just wait, he’d make them pay for this later!

"Hahaha—huhuhu—"

The ridiculous scene was too much for Yue Mingxuan.

He couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst into laughter. He was gasping for breath from laughing too hard.

All eyes immediately turned toward the man who had just been crying and begging for mercy a moment ago.

When a few of them accidentally glanced at Prince Shang’s dark and stormy face, they froze in fear and quietly backed out of the room one by one.

Their expressions said it all, this time, he was done for.

Huh? Why was everyone leaving?

These so called brave warriors clearly were only good at dealing with strong people.

Faced with someone who looked as weak and harmless as Yue Mingxuan, their sense of justice suddenly multiplied and he had used that chance to his advantage.

He wasn’t done playing yet. Yue Mingxuan pouted slightly and secretly laughing to himself.

But his joy didn’t last long.

A sudden chill filled the air and when he looked up, he instantly froze.

Oh no. Oh no, oh no! Prince Shang himself was coming down from the high seat. This time, he had really gone too far. He’d made a terrible mistake!

Before he could even think of how to fix it, Yue Mingxuan felt his body suddenly lift off the ground.

Prince Shang had grabbed him effortlessly.

The man’s voice that was low and seductive and cold as death itself whispering by his ear, "Since you want to laugh so much, I’ll make sure you laugh to your heart’s content."

The next second, Yue Mingxuan’s body flew through the air, so fast that his eyes couldn’t even follow the movement.

Before he could react or struggle, his entire body landed hard on a large soft bed with a loud "thud."

"It hurts..." Yue Mingxuan groaned softly, but even then, as he turned over, he still managed to push out a palm strike in defense.

This time, Yue Mingxuan knew the man was serious.

He wasn’t like those subordinates from earlier at least they still had a bit of conscience and knew how to show pity toward someone weak.

But this man... he was completely different.
