CHAPTER 243: A DANGEROUS PROPOSAL

When Shiao Yi looked, he saw Dominic’s fist stopped midair, pressed into an invisible wall in front of Aaron’s face.

The cracks appeared in the air itself, spiderwebbing outward with sharp creaks as Dominic continued to push his strength into it.

So that’s a barrier spell, huh. Aaron could throw it up instantly, truly impressive. But Dominic’s sheer power was even more terrifying, since he was actually breaking through it.

"I can’t let myself get blown away every single time, you know!" Aaron said, trying to sound smug, though his strained face betrayed him.

Oh no. A vein just bulged on Dominic’s forehead. That was bad, really bad.

Shiao Yi didn’t hesitate. He grabbed both Dominic and Aaron and teleported them all away.

...Though why he chose this place, he couldn’t really explain.

He looked around at the cluttered room filled with tools, glass tubes, and strange pieces of equipment, well, junk, to be honest—stacked everywhere.

The room should have been spacious, but all the bizarre instruments made it feel cramped.

Dominic looked more and more irritated, his mood darkening by the second.

"As expected of you, Shiao Yi! You always understand the true desires of my heart!" Aaron said energetically, practically glowing with excitement.

So this was his fault. His desperate wish must have guided Shiao Yi here, into Aaron’s laboratory.

"If you have business," Dominic said coldly, his voice full of barely hidden impatience, "say it quickly."

"Of course!" Aaron said with a bright smile. "Lord Shiao Yi, let’s make a baby!"

Bang!

Oh. That one landed perfectly.

Aaron took Dominic’s punch straight to the face and flew backward into the wall. He groaned and slowly crawling up from the floor whilepressing a hand to his bleeding nose as he tried to explain himself in a panic.

"Y-you’ve got it wrong Lord Dominic! Of course, I meant a baby from Shiao Yi and you!"

The anger and irritation radiating from Dominic immediately vanished.

Wow, that was... fast. Shiao Yi couldn’t help but think, Dominic, you’re too easy to read.

"I already told you I don’t want to be one of your lab test subjects," Dominic said flatly. "Absolutely not."

Shiao Yi hurried to remind Aaron of that important fact. He had said no many times before.

"Well, back then, the form wasn’t even finished yet," Aaron said cheerfully, as if nothing had happened.

Ignoring his darkening bruises, he opened a drawer on a desk piled high with random tools and pulled out a box.

Doesn’t that hurt? Shiao Yi thought. His cheek looked swollen, yet he didn’t seem to care.

Aaron removed the lid of the box and, with careful hands, he placed something wrapped in several layers of cloth onto the table.

Dominic leaned forward slightly, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

Layer by layer, Aaron unwrapped the cloth until a small, smooth, oval-shaped object appeared. It was slightly smaller than a chicken egg, it was white and glossy, almost too much like one.

"This," Aaron said proudly, "is the result of sweat and hard work from me and my research team! We call it ’Operation Baby!’ You have no idea how much we suffered to create this magic device. We were kicked by pigs, chased by cows, trampled by sheep... But even beaten and broken, we never gave up! For this noble goal, we worked day and night—ah!"

He was completely lost in his own fantasy world, his eyes were shining dreamily as he gazed upward.

With a sigh, Shiao Yi used telekinesis to drop a thick leather-bound book on his head and It landed with a satisfying thud.

Aaron yelped while clutching his head with teary eyes.

"So, have you tested it on a human yet? Don’t tell me you skipped the clinical trials," Shiao Yi asked, his tone filled with disbelief.

"Of course not!" Aaron puffed up his chest proudly. "The glorious first test subject will be none other than you, Shiao Yi! There’s no way I could let anyone else have such an honor, right?"

"’Right?’ What do you mean, right?!" Shiao Yi snapped. "So you haven’t tested it on an actual person yet?!"

"You have no idea how hard it was to make this magic device!" Aaron said defensively, waving his hands. "Just gathering the materials was a nightmare. Most of them are rare, and look—inside this shell, I’ve built dozens of complex magic circles. Each one is incredibly detailed, and weaving them together took me half a year! Since it has to go inside a person’s body, it can’t be too big, right? So every rune had to be carefully woven in. The vessel also has to grow and change as the fetus develops. It’s really delicate work."

"Can this thing really make a child?" Dominic asked, his eyes sharp and serious as he looked at Aaron.

"It worked on pigs, cows, and sheep," Aaron replied confidently. "Humans have stronger magic, so the success rate should be even higher."

"How exactly is it used?"

Ah, there it was—Dominic was already asking for details. Shiao Yi groaned inwardly. Wait, Dominic... are you actually considering this? Are you serious right now?

Aaron’s face lit up with excitement as he eagerly began to explain.

"First, the vessel needs to be filled with the blood of the person who’ll act as the ’mother.’ That creates the base material for the embryo to grow. Then, you activate the first set of magic circles, open the lid, and put in both of your semen samples. After that..."

Semen...

So basically, he meant that he and Dominic would have to, well, handle each other and release it into the egg-shaped vessel.

Shiao Yi felt his face heat up instantly.

The thought alone was beyond embarrassing.

As Aaron continued explaining in his excited oblivious way while Shiao Yi’s mind drifted into chaotic imagination.

The idea of combining two people’s genes to create an embryo, that part he could understand.

Even without an egg cell, if there was a medium capable of nurturing it, it might work biochemically.
