And now Aaron was talking about implanting the thing inside his intestines so it could absorb Dominic’s magic-filled semen directly?

That would cause constipation or worse, a blockage! The intestines could die! He’d die!

If it needed a constant magic supply, then Shiao Yi couldn’t do it.

That meant Dominic would have to be the one, right? Dominic’s magic was powerful so it would be enough to fuel anything.

"No! Absolutely not! I will never let Dominic wear a maternity dress!"

Shiao Yi pointed his finger sharply at Aaron and Dominic, who both looked at him in surprise.

"This egg is out of the question! I refuse to use it! I completely reject it! And Aaron, if you keep pushing this, we’re done! I mean it!"

"Whaaat? But it took so long to finish it," Aaron complained.

"If you really want to use it, then you try it first! Then we’ll talk! Come on, Dominic, we’re leaving!"

Aaron was still yelling something behind them, but Shiao Yi ignored it. He grabbed Dominic’s arm and teleported them away without another word.

They landed directly in the living room at home. Still holding Dominic’s arm, Shiao Yi looked up at his beloved’s face. Dominic looked a little disappointed.

"Dominic, that thing is no good. It’ll just end in blood and disaster. Please, give up on having a child. Okay?"

It hurt Shiao Yi’s heart to crush the hope in Dominic’s eyes. Dominic silently wrapped his arms around Shiao Yi and held him close.

"Don’t worry," Dominic said softly. "Just being able to dream for a moment was enough. From the beginning, we both knew it was impossible. Luckily, my two-year-old brother is healthy and strong. He’ll grow up well as the next head of the Beaumont family. As long as I have you, I don’t need anything else."

Dominic was always so kind and so strong. He always put Shiao Yi’s feelings before his own. That made Shiao Yi hold him even tighter. Dominic’s hand gently stroked his hair.

"Lord Dominic, the tea is ready," Jude announced, completely calm as if he hadn’t just witnessed their sudden arrival.

"Just in time," said Eline cheerfully as she waddled in, her plump body swaying. "The cookies just finished baking! They’re filled with berry jam." She set down a basket piled high with warm cookies beside the cups.

Then Lambard peeked in through the back door. "The old master and mistress said they’d like to see you both, Lord Shiao Yi and Lord Dominic. Should I prepare the carriage?"

Dominic looked at Shiao Yi, and they both smiled. Dominic nodded. "It’s been a while. Let’s go see Alaric. Prepare the carriage."

Shiao Yi grinned. "He’ll be happy to see us. He’s already two years old, huh? Time flies so fast. He’s starting to look more and more like you, Dominic. He’s probably even cuter now."

Eline clapped her hands together. "Then I’ll pack some cookies for him! And please, take a fruit cake as well, it’ll make a nice gift."

While Eline busied herself wrapping up the treats, Shiao Yi sipped the tea Jude had prepared.

Ah, it was delicious. The aroma filled his mouth and drifted softly through his nose. The light bitterness and gentle sweetness that followed blended perfectly. Jude’s tea was, as always, the best.

It’s the oments like this that made Shiao Yi feel truly happy.

After enjoying a few quiet days in the royal capital, Shiao Yi and Dominic set out once again on their long journey, traveling through distant lands in search of traces of the Aeon.

They worked to close the dangerous pathways, hoping that one day they could erase the threat forever.

Their journey continued for that purpose.

Later, Shiao Yi heard rumors from the capital. Supposedly, Aaron’s research team had caused quite a scene with their "Operation Baby." Some said they clogged their intestines and had to be rushed to the hospital. Others claimed the experiment succeeded, or failed, or that a baby was born but stillborn. Whatever the truth, the wild stories filled the royal city with gossip.
