CHAPTER 304: THE FALL

He could not hold it for long.

Once his strength ran out, the Aeon would immediately break free from the compression and explode outward, swelling and spreading in an instant.

The combined attack immediately reached the Aeon.

A moment after that, Shiao Yi released his power and fell away from the creature.

While falling, he checked the sight of the Aeon being struck and wrapped by the overwhelming amount of bright magic.

Even a Aeon large enough to surround the underground world would never be able to digest this much opposite energy at once while trapped in such a tightly compressed form.

Unable to process it, the creature was swallowed by raging flames.

The tentacles it stretched out in an attempt to escape the released telekinetic restraint disappeared from the tips as they burned away.

His body hit the ground with a heavy thud.

Because the combined attack energy was so concentrated, it became a physical force that crushed his body.

The enormous heat burned him.

The energy grew and grew, until the dark magic of the Aeon and the opposite light magic caused a violent annihilation reaction.

A massive explosion that was equal to an antimatter bomb was born.

The massive force was enough to gouged the earth and blew it away.

It was like standing at the center of a nuclear blast.

Inside the giant sun of energy, the Aeon vanished.

Guaaaaoooooonnnnn.

Shiao Yi thought he heard its death scream.

The Aeon seemed to have no organs to make sound and no sense of pain, yet for some reason he felt the scream echo inside his head.

His body was pushed deep into the ground by the violent pressure.

His bones were shattered and his organs burst and collapsed.

His back burned and turned into black, charred coal.

In his fading consciousness, he thought it was the same as when he first fell into this world.

Back then, when he had been hit by a gravity wave attack, his bones and organs were crushed.

He had run desperately and that was how he ended up here.

He did not give up back then.

And he would not give up now.

Because he did not give up, he was able to meet Dominic.

He had made a promise with Dominic.

They would never be separated again.

They would stay together.

No matter how close to death he became, he would not let go of his life.

He would live.

If even a small trace of life remained, Dominic would always bring him back.

Dominic would never let him die.

Then the final massive shock came crashing down from above.

Shiao Yi gathered every bit of strength he still had.

"T–Teleport...!"

Fwoom!

The burning pressure vanished.

And at the same moment, Shiao Yi’s consciousness disappeared.

When Dominic looked behind him, he saw the capital has been turned into nothing but ruins after the clash of unimaginable power.

The knights and soldiers who had finally regained their senses rushed toward the collapsed houses to rescue the people trapped beneath the debris.

The palace which had been closer to the center of the explosion was in a completely destroyed state.

If not for the shield made by Mr. Vundo and the others, Dominic and his group would have been blown away and burned to ash in the same way.

Even so, the intense heat that was burned their skin still leaving a sharp stinging pain.

Nobody knew if the queen and her ministers who should have been inside the palace were safe or not.

The knights were rushing in now, pulling away the fallen pillars and broken roof tiles from the ruins.

Even if they were alive, they would not be unharmed.

With its main leaders unable to move, the country would surely fall into chaos for some time.

Everyone else had already left the place to prepare for withdrawal, but Dominic stayed where he was, standing alone.

Louis and Gabrant looked at him as if they wanted to speak, but in the end they said nothing and left him by himself.

Dominic was waiting.

Shiao Yi had promised.

He had promised he would return to him no matter what.

He had sworn he would never leave him alone again.

If that was true, then all he had to do was waiting.

He only needed to stay here until Shiao Yi came back to him.

Suddenly, he felt a presence in the sky.

He looked upward.

Far above the blue sky, a tiny black dot was falling.

It grew larger and larger.

The black dot became a shape and then became the body of a person.

It was Shiao Yi who is falling from the sky and he seemed unconscious.

Dominic opened both of his arms and waited.

In order to reduce the impact, he created several soft air cushions with his wind magic like small clouds and setting them in layers for Shiao Yi to fall through.

If the cushions were too strong, they would cause more damage, so he made them only to slow the speed and letting Shiao Yi pass through them one by one.

Dominic was not very skilled with magic other than fire magic, so he paid extreme attention to the precision of each spell.

Thanks to that, the fall should have slowed down a lot.

Even so, when Shiao Yi’s body finally dropped into Dominic’s arms, the impact was massive.

Dominic bent his knees to absorb the force, then let himself fall backward to the ground while holding Shiao Yi, using his own body as a cushion.

Falling from such a height created a force beyond imagination.

All the air was crushed out of Dominic’s lungs and his bones creaked in pain.

But the damage Shiao Yi had taken was far worse.

A violent spray of blood burst from Shiao Yi’s mouth.

Even without looking at him closely, Dominic understood everything just by holding him.

The blood was flowing from every his opening like eyes, ears, nose, mouth.
