"Look! There's a whirlpool!" Tenten noticed the swirling currents around the boat and shouted to remind everyone. Almost immediately, the boat began to spin violently without warning.
"Hold on tight!" Naruto released a large amount of Kyubi’s Chakra without any hesitation. The blood-red Chakra erupted, radiating intense heat for a brief second before vanishing.
"No! Stop now! Naruto, you’ll cook us alive!" Neji shouted in alarm.
Naruto had no choice but to stop and simply activated the Kyubi Gundam to surround everyone on the boat. The bloody Kyubi spun in the whirlpool and could not reach the bottom of the river.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The originally calm water surface erupted into chaos, waves crashing against the rocky walls with the force of exploding cannons.
Buzz, buzz, buzz!
Buzzing noises filled the air as the blood-red Kyubi kept the water at bay, though the deafening roar couldn’t be silenced. At this time, the red Gundam was slowly being swallowed by the whirlpool.
"Naruto, there's a door down there, it's opening!" Neji gripped the edge of the boat and turned to shout at Naruto.
"What door?!"
"I can't see it clearly!" Neji’s voice strained over the noise.
Bang!
The world fell silent.
Naruto didn’t even remember when he passed out. When he finally regained consciousness, he found himself unharmed.
He sat up suddenly and touched his body, but there was not even a scratch.
"This is messed up…"
Scanning his surroundings, Naruto stood up with a strange look on his face. In front of him was a desolate mountain forest, surrounded by towering trees and wild, unchecked vines that blotted out the sky.
The sound of waves echoed softly from afar. Looking up, Naruto saw the vast expanse of a clear blue sky. From the high ground, the endless horizon stretched before him, leaving him utterly dumbfounded.
"What the hell?! Is this Anywhere Door?" Naruto yelled, his voice carrying across the emptiness, "Tenten! Neji! Lee!"
After shouting a few times but getting no response, Naruto could not help but fell quiet for a moment. Then, he quickly formed hand seals to summon Gerotora. With a bang, Gerotora was summoned.
Gerotora appeared on a rock, still looking dazed. Blinking up at Naruto, it clutched its face and let out a sharp squeal.
"Where am I? Why do I hear waves?"
"The Land of Whirlpools… we got teleported here." Naruto looked at Gerotora, "Do you remember what happened before you disappeared?"
"I just blacked out! Was I sucked underground? And where did those three go?"
"I don't remember. You just vanished… ‘poof’, like that." Gerotora shook its head, "Then I went back to Mount Myoboku. Just when I was about to look for the old man, I got yanked here again."
Hearing this, Naruto couldn't help but sigh. He didn't expect Gerotora to remember much, after all, even he’d passed out.
Because of Jiraiya, Naruto had also signed a summoning contract with the toads of Mount Myoboku, and he also signed a summoning contract with Katsuyu.
However, neither of them is a summoning beast that was suited for saltwater environments. Naruto can't count on them, so he waved his hand and said, "Got it. You should go back first. I'll call you if I need anything."
"Ah, okay." Gerotora hesitated for a moment. It wasn't that it didn’t want to help. After all, it was Jiraiya who was in trouble. However, it had realized something unsettling.
The problem is that it discovered that even Jiraiya could not necessarily call a toad and it would come immediately. Although 96% of the time, it was accurate, it was inevitable that there was slight chance of error when Jiraiya’s Chakra ran low.
But it can't refuse Naruto’s call at all.
In fact, just a minute ago, Gerotora was still running around Mount Myoboku, but at the next moment, it was suddenly yanked here. No warning, no buildup… just forced summoning.
It hadn’t been like this before. The toad clearly remembered signing a summoning contract, not some slave contract.
It took a deep breath and muttered to itself, ‘It’s for the greater good…’
With a bang, Gerotora vanished in a puff of smoke.
Left alone, Naruto decided to make the best of the situation. Standing still for a while, he weighed his options and decided to explore the island first. Maybe he’d find someone, or something, that could offer a clue.
There was no need to rush anyway. Now that he’d calmed down, he even found himself wondering about that mysterious door.
After eliminating the possibility of it being a Genjutsu, Naruto began his journey around the island of the Land of Whirlpools with mixed feelings. He started from the highest cliff in the northwest and worked outward.
As he walked, he opened his system panel and found that there was no change in the system.
"It can't really be some kind of Anywhere Door, right? Maybe Neji and the others were also teleported here, but on the other side of the island."
Naruto muttered to himself, snapping off a branch to use as a walking stick.
"Or maybe they have fainted and haven't woken up yet. There don't seem to be any ferocious beasts on this island, so there's no need to worry too much about their safety."
"But fixed-point teleportation? That doesn't make sense. If that's the case, there's a high chance that I ran into a certain pervert now. The island’s only so big, so if Pervy Sage is really here, he would have come here long ago with his keen sensory ability."
"Unless… something happened to him. Maybe he got hurt."
Time blurred as Naruto methodically searched the island, checking every suspicious spot for signs of disturbance. But no matter where he looked, there are no broken branches, no footprints… nothing indicated anyone else had landed here.
Minutes turned into hours. Eventually, the sky bled into shades of orange as the sun dipped toward the horizon, bathing the island in warm light.
It was almost dark, and Naruto still found no leads.
He didn't have to worry about food and water, nor did he have to worry about not being able to return. His sealed space had everything, from boats to sewing needles and thread.
Since the last time he drifted in the sea, Naruto has been hoarding more and more things. Whatever he can use or not, he stores it all in the sealed space. He wasn’t taking any chances ever again.
As the darkness deepened, Naruto tried to sense Chakra, but without Sage Mode, he was out of luck. He was destined to have no connection with Natural Energy and fate didn’t seem to want to cut him any slack.
With nightfall fast approaching, Naruto climbed to a rocky outcrop and cupped his hands around his mouth.
"Hey! Anyone out there?!"
Silence. Just the hum of the evening wind responding to him.
Just as Naruto was ready to turn back and leave, he suddenly heard a faint sound. The voice sounded slightly familiar and his heart immediately skipped a beat.
"Tenten?" Naruto’s eyes lit up and he jumped directly from the rock, not caring about the thorns and branches.
Sprinting full speed toward the voice, he thought, ‘Is it really fixed-point teleportation?! Then the others must be on this island. If there really is such a good thing as a portal, I will definitely be getting my hands on it first.’
