Chapter 721: The Grand Incident (Thirty-Seven)
High above Otto ParkerSpace in New York City, SpiderGwen clung to the rooftop of a skyscraper using her spider web and descended gracefully. She shouted to the adjacent spider web, "Have we reached the reinforcements? This can't go on like this!"
Looking up at the sky, she saw Solus in his demon gods form, extending his massive arms and waving them about. Beside him, two small shadows resembled tiny grains of sand on a beach, appearing minuscule.
Without hesitation, PainSchiller sprang into action. He hurled three sharp kunai knives at Solus in his demon gods form and swiftly retreated after a probing attack.
Following closely behind was the formidable Spider-Man with his Mech armor, joining the assault on Solus in his demon gods form.
Though their acquaintance was brief, the two who had experienced a memory-erasing encounter had a remarkable synergy. PainSchiller's thrown kunai knives were razor-sharp, while the Mech armor's charging actions effectively blocked Solus's arm movements.
As Solus's demon gods form dodged their attacks and deflected the incoming kunai knives, the Mech armor was pushed back a couple of steps.
The initial close-quarters attacks were merely a test. Once they confirmed that Solus in his demon gods form was tangible and vulnerable, PainSchiller initiated his ninjutsu.
He extended one arm, clenched his fingers into a fist, and suddenly, his fist flew from his arm, striking Solus's arm and erupting into intense sparks. Solus winced in pain, turning his body to the side. However, at that moment, the Mech armor piloted by Spider-Man approached.
While Solus in his demon gods form had become significantly more powerful, his colossal size made him vulnerable to attacks. A larger physical form meant a greater area to target, but it also meant reduced agility, making it challenging to evade high-speed attacks.
Inheritor Family had a special vulnerability against Spider-Man, but not against Schiller. Unlike the typical Spider-Man, the Spider-Man piloting the mech, Four Hundred Auntie, kept her distance from Solus. Equipped with Spider-Sense, he easily evaded Solus's attempts to grab him.
With both sides closing in, Solus found himself in a precarious situation. As the probing attacks concluded, both parties unleashed their full force. PainSchiller summoned the Earth Exploding Star, and Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man prepared her finishing move.
Seeing the unfavorable situation, Solus quickly changed tactics. The starry sky behind him began to shrink, and energy continuously gathered at his chest, forming a bright light source.
As the energy field contracted, his size diminished to a fraction of its original size, although he remained over five meters tall. While still imposing, the smaller size and concentrated energy meant increased speed, allowing him to evade many area attacks.
Solus made a wise choice; when energy was compressed, the formidable gravitational forces from the Universal Attractor and Earth Exploding Star had minimal control over him. Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man's Mech armor lacked the necessary speed for effective attacks and was easily evaded. Even if it managed to land a hit, it would only strike his energy shield.
The battlefield reached a stalemate, and the most anxious individuals were the female Spider-Men. They wanted to join the battle, but without the Space Captain's empowering energy, regular Spider-Men could easily be swept away by Solus's destructive waves. SpiderGwen learned this the hard way after a few falls and concluded it was not a viable option.
The battlefield reached a stalemate, and the most anxious individuals were the female Spider-Men. They wanted to join the battle, but without the Space Captain's empowering energy, regular Spider-Men could easily be swept away by Solus's destructive waves. Spider Gwen learned this the hard way after a few falls and concluded it was not a viable option.
While Solus wasn't as formidable as other Multiverse-level demon gods, Inheritor Family had a special advantage against Spider-Man, and Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man had noticed this. Consequently, he dared not approach Solus, leaving Pain Schiller as the only one capable of resisting direct attacks.
Solus grinned wickedly, transformed into a white light, and appeared behind Leopold Barton, the pilot of Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man's Mech armor. He extended his hand and grabbed one of the Mech armor's arms.
With a sharp sound, sparks erupted from Leopold Barton's shoulder. As the Mech armor was pulled, its balance became precarious, nearly throwing Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man off.
Fortunately, AutobotSchiller, who had appeared earlier, arrived just in time and stood in front of the Mech armor. He pushed Solus's arm away, preventing Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man from being captured.
Solus attempted another move, but suddenly, a barrier radiating white light appeared in front of the Mech armor. SpaceCaptainSpider-Man emerged from the air with the power of Eternity surrounding his body.
Amidst the astonishment of everyone present, Space Captain Spider-Man charged directly at Solus. SpiderGwen widened her eyes and shouted, "Space Captain Spider-Man! What are you doing? Come back!! Solus will drain you dry!!!"
Spider web urgently transmitted a message to SpaceCaptainSpider-Man, but at this moment, the determined SpaceCaptainSpider-Man, who had gained the strong power bestowed by Eternity early on, paid no heed. His sense of justice primarily operated on a cosmic level, and when facing a single opponent, he lacked tactical acumen. Despite knowing Solus's special advantage against Spider-Men, he still sought to engage in a physical battle.
Solus was momentarily bewildered by SpaceCaptainSpider-Man's direct charge, then his face lit up with excitement. After tangling with these individuals for some time and depleting a significant portion of his strength, he had originally intended to capture a few wounded Spider-Men to replenish his energy. However, an unexpected opportunity had presented itself.
He seized Space Captain Spider-Man, and the Eternity power on his body had no effect on Solus. Just as Solus was about to extract his soul, PainSchiller intervened.
With a swift move, Pain Schiller positioned himself behind Space Captain Spider-Man, placed his hand on his back, and initiated the Soul Absorption technique.
This was one of the abilities of the Cycle Eye. When activated, the target's soul should be immediately extracted and subjected to death. However, in this case, it became a lifeline for Space Captain Spider-Man.
As Solus attempted to drain Space Captain Spider-Man's soul, Pain Schiller was also absorbing his soul, resulting in a clash between the Inheritor Family's vampire bloodline and the Cycle Eye's abilities.
This left Space Captain Spider-Man's soul trapped inside his body, immobilized. Solus couldn't release him, as he needed to obtain the soul, providing an opportunity for the other Spider-Men.
Seeing Solus turned into a stationary target unable to defend himself, Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man took control of the Mech armor and launched an attack, followed closely by the female Spider-Men.
Faced with this relentless assault, Solus eventually decided to surrender. In the moment he released his grip, Pain Schiller also let go. Space Captain Spider-Man was sent flying and crashed heavily onto the surface of New York.
Struggling to get up, he coughed a few times and held his chest. At that moment, he noticed a portal appearing in the sky above New York.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the portal, muttering, "My name is Schiller, 33 years old, residing in the East New York suburban area nearby... doctors say I'm perfectly normal..."
Before Space Captain Spider-Man could figure out who this person was, more figures emerged from the portal, each reciting their own lines, echoing in the New York skyline.
"Wherever there's resistance, Schiller Rodriguez shall make them yield. Wherever the Empire's faith in false gods exists, they shall submit to the Supreme Eagle..." A person in majestic armor stepped out of the portal.
"Jedi, use the Force for knowledge and defense, never for attack..." The next person held a Lightsaber.
"From the very beginning, there were no gods in the sky... Mirror, Flower, Water, Moon!" A person dressed in traditional Japanese attire with a katana on their waist followed.
"There is only one truth!" A person in a blue suit and red tie came next.
Space Captain Spider-Man gaped in astonishment, realizing that these people who had emerged were joining the battle against Solus. Each of them possessed extraordinary and seemingly inexplicable abilities, appearing quite powerful.
If the earlier arrivals had a somewhat coherent appearance, these newcomers were more enigmatic.
"Beep beep! I'm Popeye! I love spinach, which makes me incredibly strong! Spinach! Spinach! Spinach! Spinach!" An unidentified creature in a sailor outfit appeared, holding a can of spinach.
"One-Ear! Halt or I'll shoot!" Two gunshots rang out, and a black cat leaped from the portal.
"Since you asked so sincerely, I'll kindly tell you!" A person holding a peculiar spherical object rushed out of the portal.
"I hate frying pans!!!" A grey wolf flew through the air, spinning as it emerged.
"In the style of Paw Patrol, we resolve crises!" An orange U.K. bulldog swiftly ran out.
Space Captain Spider-Man was left in disbelief, witnessing these individuals who had all joined the battle against Solus. Each possessed unique and remarkable abilities, and they appeared quite formidable.
If the earlier arrivals had some semblance of normalcy, these newcomers defied explanation.
"Are there fish ball noodles?" immediately followed a pig with a backpack.
"Jon, is today's lasagna ready?" And right behind was a plump and chubby orange cat.
"Look! A portal!" A blue and white cat walked out while digging in its pocket.
All the Spider-Men were left dumbfounded, looking at these bizarre creatures that had fallen out of the portal.
Taking a deep breath, Gwen said, "Are these the reinforcements we called for? But aren't they a bit... I mean, those people are one thing, but these cats and dogs..."
Not only were the Spider-Men stunned, but Solus, who was currently entangled with PainSchiller and Four Hundred Auntie Spider-Man, was also frozen in place.
As they watched the assortment of creatures rushing toward them, everyone was taken aback. The atmosphere on the battlefield had been primed for the final showdown, with everyone wearing a serious expression, engaged in intense combat. Suddenly, a group of creatures that looked like domestic pets burst onto the battlefield, and anyone would have been caught off guard.
As they watched the oddly shaped animals charging towards them, Solus furrowed his brow and wore an impatient expression. He waved his hand, creating a ripple of power.
Just when Solus thought these strange creatures, like the previous Spider-Men, would be easily pushed away by the ripple of power and fall to the ground, they began to employ peculiar tactics.
Some ate cans of spinach, some assembled Mech armor on the spot and took flight, some called for reinforcements out of thin air, some threw Poké Balls, and, most comically, one simply made a huge leap in place, jumping right over Shockwave.
Watching this group of creatures that seemed to be here for comedic effect, Solus was completely infuriated. If he couldn't defeat these humans who were reciting strange lines, could he not even handle cats and dogs? Could the leader of the Inheritor Family, who had roamed the martial world for so many years, endure such humiliation?
He let out a cold snort, and a luminous energy radiated from his body. With deliberate control, he started forming a massive storm vortex around him. Several people standing beside him were forced to step back as the energy grew increasingly concentrated.
Like a gale sweeping through fallen leaves, within the chaotic expanse of Space, the energy storm forced everyone to retreat and seek shelter.
Just when the Spider-Men thought they were about to face another round of injury and retreat, the portal flashed again, and a blue figure burst out.
With incredible agility and speed, this blue figure reached the edge of the energy storm and produced a ladder seemingly out of thin air. Climbing it, they jumped into the center of the storm and delivered a powerful kick—
Solus was sent flying on the spot.
Once the energy storm dissipated, the people finally saw that the blue figure was a highly agile blue cat. Although there was no ground within the Space, Solus had fallen on an air wall that resembled the ground.
When he stood up, people were astonished to see a large bump on Solus's head, a black eye over his right eye, and a cross-shaped bandage on his left cheek, with a cat claw mark on the left side of his face.
Solus was currently in his demon gods form, and even though his body had shrunk, it was still composed of energy. In this situation, he shouldn't have left any physical wounds like a carbon-based lifeform. Any damage he took should have resulted in energy loss without leaving any marks.
However, at this moment, there was a comical, cartoonish injury on his head that couldn't be eliminated no matter how much energy he used. Aside from this injury, the attack had only interrupted his energy storm and caused no actual harm to Solus. It was more insulting than damaging.
Solus roared in anger as he got up, his eyes filled with rage as he scanned the entire space, ready to identify the culprits. But at that moment, he suddenly saw something strange drifting towards him.
It was a pink, semi-transparent bubble.
"Hold on! Where did that bubble come from?" Amazing Spider-Man, who had just emerged from the portal, stood at the rooftop's edge, looking up at the sky, puzzled. "Why is this bubble floating in such a strange direction? Is it trying to break through the atmosphere?"
Spider Gwen walked toward Amazing Spider-Man and said, "Although my judgment might not be accurate, isn't the flight speed of this bubble a bit too fast?"
From Solus's perspective, a small bubble suddenly appeared in the Earth's sky. In an instant, it had reached him, faster than any known human rocket.
He couldn't clearly see what it was and didn't dare to act rashly. He swiftly retreated, but the bubble, despite its leisurely drift, was even faster than him.
In the blink of an eye, Solus found himself trapped inside the bubble.
The pink bubble, though seemingly fragile, didn't budge when Solus struck it with all his might. It appeared to be a rare material within Space capable of confining a demon gods. No matter how hard Solus tried, the bubble remained intact.
"What is going on?!!!" Solus roared. "Spider-Men!! You despicable insects! You dare to use such a conspiracy against me!!!"
Space Captain Spider-Man, along with Amazing Spider-Man, Spider Gwen, and the other Spider-Men, flew over to Solus. Space Captain Spider-Man, with his hands on his hips, stared at Solus and asked, "What's happening here? What's with this bubble?"
The Spider-Men looked at each other, not knowing what was going on. But at that moment, they saw a yellow figure zipping past them.
The Spider-Men's exceptional dynamic vision allowed them to see that the yellow figure was actually a square sponge with thin limbs, holding a pink bubble wand.
It was the type of bubble toy commonly found in convenience stores, used to dip into bubble solution and blow bubbles. At that moment, a piercing scream echoed through Space:
"Squidward!! Let's blow bubbles together!!!"
In an instant, Solus, trapped in the bubble, turned into a speck of light and disappeared completely before the eyes of the Spider-Men.
"But... are we just leaving these things here?" Spider Gwen hesitated, looking at the pile of bizarre creatures in Space.bit of energy loss. Let's return to base for recovery and then search for Solus."
"But... are we just leaving these things here?" SpiderGwen hesitated, looking at the pile of bizarre creatures in Space.
"Even if we want to deal with this mess, I need to replenish my energy first," Space Captain Spider-Man shook his head.
His voice carried a sense of exhaustion. Being repeatedly captured and having his soul pulled back and forth was extremely painful. He had nearly depleted all the energy within him. Seeing his condition, the other Spider-Men didn't press him further, and they all left Space.
Solus, in a dramatic fashion, had disappeared, leaving all the Schillers in the universe who remained behind to start fighting among themselves.
In the vast expanse of Space, lightsabers whirled by one moment, strange flags floated by the next, while another shouted "Losers eat dust!" In no time, Space had turned into complete chaos.
Back at the base, Space Captain Spider-Man immediately returned to his room to meditate and recharge his energy by contacting Eternity.
Just as he entered the temple, a series of chaotic thoughts flooded his mind. Space Captain Spider-Man shook his head vigorously. Then, he saw Eternity's figure appearing in the center of the hall.
At the same time, a slightly distressed voice echoed in Space Captain Spider-Man's ear:
"Space's stability has been deteriorating rapidly recently. Do you have any leads?"
