Chapter 254: Chapter 254: The Eve of Separation (Part 2)

“Daddy.” Tuantuan frowned with a small face, somewhat perplexed as he looked at Xie Yanchuan.

Though Tuantuan was still young and didn’t understand what was so peculiar about Xie Yanchuan, children are sensitive and he could sense Xie Yanchuan’s sorrow.

Xie Yanchuan smiled at Tuantuan again, stretched out his hand to cup the little face, and gently kissed his forehead, “It’s okay, Daddy just wants to tell you that no matter where Daddy is, he will always love Tuantuan.”

“Where is Daddy going?” Tuantuan tilted his head, asking with some confusion.

Xie Yanchuan didn’t answer the question but softly said, “Tuantuan, go back to take your nap. Daddy will go home to see Sui Sui.”

“I want to go back too.” Tuantuan tugged at Xie Yanchuan’s hand, coaxingly.

Xie Yanchuan refused him, “Tuantuan has to go to school, and you’ll be able to go home after school.”

At this point, Xie Yanchuan didn’t want to show too much strangeness, Tuantuan might not notice, but Xu Jinzhi would definitely notice.

He wasn’t certain if it would be today, he just feared a sudden turn of events, like in his previous life when he didn’t even have time to say goodbye.

“Alright, Tuantuan, go back to rest,” said Xie Yanchuan softly.

Tuantuan was somewhat reluctant, but in the end, he didn’t say anything. He came out of the classroom and handed Tuantuan back to Teacher Xiao Huang.

“Daddy’s leaving, goodbye, Tuantuan.” Xie Yanchuan looked at Tuantuan tenderly.

“Goodbye, Daddy.” Tuantuan obediently responded, but his expression wasn’t as happy because Xie Yanchuan hadn’t agreed to take him back with him.

Xie Yanchuan still smiled tenderly, while Teacher Xiao Huang stood there a bit at a loss, not knowing if she should take the initiative to lead the children away at this moment.

Fortunately, Xie Yanchuan had already come back to his senses. He looked at Teacher Xiao Huang and politely said, “Thank you.”

“No trouble at all!” Teacher Xiao Huang said repeatedly.

Xie Yanchuan took one last look at Tuantuan, then turned and left. He didn’t look back; he couldn’t look back.

“Little friend Xie Zhihuai, let’s go back for the nap,” said Teacher Xiao Huang tenderly, then took Tuantuan’s hand and walked towards the nap room.

Tuantuan couldn’t help but turn his head as he walked, but soon he could no longer see his daddy.

By the time Xie Yanchuan got back to the car, his eyes were already red. He took several deep breaths, trying to calm his emotions, but it was no use, no use at all.

In the end, Xie Yanchuan couldn’t help but lean on the steering wheel, trembling uncontrollably, as the tears simply flowed from his eyes.

It was quite a long while before Xie Yanchuan finally felt a bit relieved and then drove home.

When Xie Yanchuan arrived home, the housekeeper was playing with Sui Sui, who was now five months old and could turn over by herself. The housekeeper was accompanying her, encouraging her to crawl.

When Xie Yanchuan entered, Sui Sui was lying on the play mat, staring at the toy in the housekeeper’s hand.

Seeing Xie Yanchuan return, the housekeeper quickly greeted him, and even Sui Sui seemed excitedly to call out.

Xie Yanchuan walked over, and the housekeeper tactfully left, leaving Xie Yanchuan and Sui Sui there to play.

But Sui Sui was too young to understand anything Xie Yanchuan said.

Xie Yanchuan then earnestly accompanied Sui Sui, but it wasn’t long before Sui Sui got sleepy. The housekeeper had prepared a bottle, and Sui Sui fell asleep while drinking.

The housekeeper came over wanting to take Sui Sui to rest, but Xie Yanchuan refused, still holding Sui Sui, unable to bring himself to let go.

Although the housekeeper found it a bit strange, she didn’t ask any questions, and after all, their sir had always been very gentle and patient with the baby.

It wasn’t until the phone ringtone sounded that Xie Yanchuan extended a hand to grab the phone, seeing that it was a call from his senior, Qin He. Xie Yanchuan answered the phone with a complex expression.

“Senior.”

Xie Yanchuan didn’t know what Qin He had said on the other end of the phone, but at last, Yanchuan said, “Okay, I’ll come over later.”

After hanging up the phone, Xie Yanchuan looked at Sui Sui in his arms who hadn’t been disturbed. He smiled gently and then carried Sui Sui back to the children’s room.

Xie Yanchuan carefully placed Sui Sui in the crib. The little one still didn’t wake up and continued to sleep with lips pursed.

Xie Yanchuan reached out and gently touched her cheek.

Soon, Xie Yanchuan left the villa again.

Driving the car himself, Xie Yanchuan’s mind was filled with fragments of a car accident from his previous life. He didn’t have the memories of his previous life, just a dream with some fragmented scenes.

The car accident from his previous life was among them.

He had died in that car accident, his face unrecognizable.

In this life, it might be the same ending.

He clearly had a premonition, so why was he still going out now?

Perhaps if he just stayed at home, he could avoid the accident.

But Xie Yanchuan didn’t dare to hide. What if the accident fell upon Xu Jinzhi instead?

Xu Jinzhi must not die.

Xie Yanchuan snapped out of his jumble of thoughts, his expression becoming even more determined.

He returned to A University and went to the laboratory to review some experimental data with Qin He. In the end, he gave his opinion.

By the time it had ended, it was late. Xie Yanchuan came out of the laboratory, took out his phone, and saw the WeChat message Xu Jinzhi had sent him.

“I’m leaving work with Mr. Xu, we’re on our way home.”

Xie Yanchuan looked at the message and replied with one word, “Okay.”

“Yanchuan!”

A familiar voice called out. Xie Yanchuan instinctively turned his head, then saw Qin He, who had hurried out of the laboratory.

“Senior.” Xie Yanchuan spoke warmly.

“Yanchuan, what are you really planning? When will you return to the laboratory?” Qin He asked with some concern.

Xie Yanchuan wanted to refuse, but the words reached his lips and then he swallowed them back down. He spoke warmly, “I already have a plan; I just need some more time to deal with a few things right now.”

“As long as you have your own plans.” Qin He breathed a sigh of relief.

“Then, I’ll be going first,” said Xie Yanchuan.

“Okay, it’s slippery with the snow, be careful,” Qin He said, knowing his junior had plans and had nothing to worry about.

Xie Yanchuan smiled, then turned and left.

By the time he was returning, night had fallen. Xu Jinzhi sent another message, but Xie Yanchuan did not reply to Jinzhi.

At a crossroads with a traffic light, when the green light came on, Xie Yanchuan started the car, following the vehicle ahead of him forward.

Suddenly, a sharp horn blared. Xie Yanchuan turned his head and saw a large truck, which should have stopped at the red light, was unable to brake in time and was charging straight towards him!

The rising and falling horn blasts were as if trying to break through the skies.
