In This Rebirth, The Male Lead Is Mine [BL]
Chapter 171: Noble
CHAPTER 171: NOBLE
Thalia did not recognize them, and so both thought they did not have any identities in this world. However, they failed to think outside the norm.
Like, their identities did not have to be humans. At least, that should also be in consideration. However, they could not be blamed as well, as it only made sense to search in the human world since they were humans in the first place.
Rise read the whole article. Though ambiguous, it heavily implied someone’s arrival from a world fissure. If only there were more information included.
"If Kamille is a noble here... wait, that can’t be right, either."
Rise pondered and had to shake his head. That was impossible.
His thoughts and judgments were influenced by the description, which pointed somehow to Kamille’s extreme side, at least he assumed it was. This clouded the knowledge he had for a while.
Kamille being a suspected noble was shocking, alright. But now, Rise needed to cross that out.
"Not that they really know it’s a noble." Rise could not help but justify.
It was like, just because someone emerged from the world fissure, it was already a noble. Well, in most cases, it was especially true. And he also had not heard someone capable of doing that.
For a moment, he was also convinced, hence his reaction. However, thinking more about it. Rise was reminded that a noble was a unique existence.
Yes, no matter the rank of the noble, be it the lowest baron, they could not be replicated anywhere else. They were beings beyond the gates, the undisputable supreme existence, according to them.
So, if that was the case, then that Kamille should be the Kamille who was with Rise the whole time. If that was really a noble, and he was Kamille.
Furthermore, if this world were real and were under invasion by the nobles like their world, the nobles here would always be the same, like everywhere else.
Even illusions could not replicate this; the gates were created by the nobles and would not let their identities be blasphemed. Rise knew that more than anyone, as someone who had interacted with them before.
"Then..." Rise paused, speechless. Once again, he had hit another roadblock. He glared at the screen and cursed before lying down, looking at the ceiling.
His mind spun and created theories, but eventually gave up. He was not one to tire himself with uncertain matters. Not only was it not fun, but he deemed it unnecessary.
He closed his eyes, deciding to nap and wait here for Kamille and talk about this issue. Kamille was one involved and more capable in conjectures.
Rise did not know how long he had been asleep, but when he woke up, he was not alone in the room. Kamille was back, lying beside him. Their bodies were close and facing each other.
A smile automatically spread across Rise’s lips. His eyes were not fully opened and met Kamille’s.
"Done?" Rise asked, voice hoarse and low.
Kamille nodded, answered at the same frequency. "An hour ago."
Oh, so he was back for an hour already?
"Why didn’t you wake me up?" Rise only asked, so his tone was still casual.
"I don’t want to disturb you."
Rise let out a low chuckle and leaned in, burying his face in the other’s neck, the Adam’s apple’s movements became clear to see. He landed a small kiss on the skin before he arched his neck and looked up to Kamille.
"You know very well," Rise’s tone was low and husky. "I like being disturbed by you." His eyebrows moved suggestively, and he bit his lips. His right hand became unruly, but before it could reach places, it was already apprehended and locked between the other’s own.
"Rise..." Kamille reprimanded, but more like a helpless groan.
This made Rise laugh loudly, now fully awake. He soon behaved, only leaning his head on the other’s arm. "What do you all talk about?"
Kamille stared for a second, as if wary of what he might do, but seeing he was truly asking without any ulterior motives, he answered in a much calmer tone this time.
"We’ll cooperate on a raid..." As he discussed what they talked about, their interlocked fingers played with each other. Occasionally, Rise would chime his reactions or questions.
Their hushed tones created a calm and peaceful atmosphere.
"So, we’re allowed to leave?"
"Mm, but not alone."
Rise knew it would be the case.
"They really let us participate in raids?"
Kamille seemed to have been reminded of the meeting as he sneered.
"They want to see us in action." He did not elaborate, for Rise could understand his meaning.
They were outsiders, but still, they were only two, and not enough to make the whole world take action to eliminate them. So, for now, cooperation seemed the best option.
For now.
"I found something." Rise finally remembered the article. Under Kamille’s inquiring gaze, he pointed at the terminal. "I saw something really interesting. Read it, Guild Leader."
As much as he loved their position, Rise had to prioritize the matter at hand. They sat in the bed, and then he let Kamille read the article, while he watched from the side for his reactions.
It did not take too long, Kamille turned to look at Rise, his expression was unreadable. There was no surprise as Rise had expected, so he had to ask.
"What do you think?"
Kamille fell silent for a few seconds, and Rise let him organize his thoughts. He only waited at the side, playing with the mattress.
After a while, Kamille opened his mouth and spoke.
"From this alone, we can’t be certain it’s me, or someone bearing my identity." Rise nodded at that. "This can be a coincidence, someone happened to have the same description as mine. But this was worth suspicion."
Rise agreed to that, too. Neither discussed the possibility of it being a noble, as that was already the realm of impossibility.
"So..." Rise weighed his words. "Should we investigate this first? Maybe, this has a connection to how to leave this gate."
This was the only clue related to the two of them, but if so, they needed to also find the identity that correlates with Rise.
"This direction seems feasible. But..." Kamille put down the terminal and wore a solemn expression. "How to find them... that’s the problem. And it won’t be easy."
There were also words left unsaid.
How do they approach them?
