Indulging Mrs. Lu
Chapter 636 - 634: My Legs are Weak, Carry Me
CHAPTER 636: CHAPTER 634: MY LEGS ARE WEAK, CARRY ME
Just a second ago, Xiao Qing still wore a dazed expression, but then she started causing trouble again, leaving Lu Jinyang stunned.
He closed his eyes, pinched the bridge of his nose, "You don’t trust me?"
"Right! I trust my own eyes."
"Wait, are you talking about Yang Qiao?"
"Uh-huh." Xiao Qing lifted her chin arrogantly and turned her face away, "Today I saw you two dining out, chatting and laughing. You never look that relaxed when you’re with us."
"Today?"
Lu Jinyang frowned deeply, seeming to realize something, and gave her a disdainful look, "You’re sulking without even confirming with me first?"
"I’m not sulking!" Xiao Qing denied.
Finally, Lu Jinyang understood that this woman was saying one thing but meant another; his focus was on the first half rather than the latter. But none of that mattered now.
He sighed deeply, "Did I ever tell you that seeing is not always believing?"
Xiao Qing shook her head.
He rubbed his temples, "Since I came home today, I haven’t stepped out again. There’s a camera at the front door; you can check the record."
"What?"
Before she could react, she saw the man flip out of bed, lift her onto his shoulder again, and walk towards the study, opening the door.
Xiao Qing was unusually quiet at the moment, silently waiting for Lu Jinyang’s next move.
Once in the study, Lu Jinyang set her down in front of the computer, his slender fingers rapidly tapping on the keyboard. In no time, the computer screen showed footage of Lu Jinyang returning to the villa.
Xiao Qing looked at him, puzzled, and he said, "From when I got back to now, watch closely to see if I’ve really left or not."
"You want me to sit in front of the computer doing nothing, just watching the footage?"
Lu Jinyang nodded, "There’s another way, you can trust me a bit more."
Looking at Xiao Qing’s expression, it was obvious she didn’t trust him. But now she started to doubt—if Lu Jinyang really had gone out, he wouldn’t have let her check this...
"Lu Jinyang, are you trying to deceive me, keep me here, so you can align your story with Yang Qiao?"
To Lu Jinyang, Xiao Qing’s words seemed remarkably imaginative, but it did remind him of something. He darkened his face, pulled out his phone, and dialed a number.
Upon connecting and under Xiao Qing’s gaze, he turned on the speaker: "Peng Yi, come to me immediately."
Peng Yi didn’t ask why, simply responded with an "Okay," and hung up.
Xiao Qing couldn’t grasp his intentions and watched the video without a word.
Half an hour later, she yawned repeatedly. Lu Jinyang next to her was buried in his documents, utterly indifferent to her drowsiness.
She sneaked a glance at him, but was startled by the sudden ring of his phone, quickly drawing back her gaze.
Lu Jinyang kept the speaker on, and Xiao Qing could hear Peng Yi saying he had arrived.
He grunted a response, hung up, and said to Xiao Qing, "Don’t you want to know the truth? Aren’t we going?"
Xiao Qing lazily glanced at him, "My legs are weak, carry me..."
Lu Jinyang’s lips twitched slightly, but he eventually went over, lifted her horizontally, and weighed her in his arms. He stopped and frowned, "How have you gotten lighter again?"
Before Xiao Qing could respond, she heard him say, "You should learn from Xiao Bao."
The next moment, she snapped, "Do you think I’m like your daughter, knowing nothing but eat, eat, eat, like raising a pig."
Lu Jinyang stared at her for quite a while, then suddenly burst into a low laugh.
