Chapter 1675 - 67: Death Crisis
CHAPTER 1675: CHAPTER 67: DEATH CRISIS
"What’s the origin of this girl?"
With Hegeminte helping to defend against the destruction, supplying energy, Yu Deye took a breath and finally had the capacity to daydream.
He glanced at the Black Long Straight-haired girl but couldn’t figure out what made this one-eyed, semi-autistic girl so valued by the Old Monster. After all, it was none other than the Earl Qian Nian, someone even Yu Deye lacked the qualifications to approach, let alone converse with.
"Sir, you may have mistaken me for someone else!" Tao Ran, sensing Hegeminte actively offering assistance, awkwardly pointed it out. Deep down, she was inherently a good girl, never one to take advantage of others.
Li Huiwen and Yu Deye both shot an unimpressed glance at Black Long Straight, almost compelled to curse at her for her foolishness. Just as they were about to speak, Willard’s menacing gaze swept over them, forcing them to swallow their words instantly.
"I wouldn’t mistake her!" The Old Monster smiled. Tao Ran’s character pleased him greatly; he was confident she would carry out her mission with unwavering dedication.
"Earl, I hope you won’t hurt her. Otherwise, no matter where you flee—to the ends of the Earth—I won’t let you off!" Tang Zheng flew back, understanding deep secrets like these wouldn’t be divulged, no matter how much he asked. Thus, all he could do was issue a warning.
"Young man, you’ve got guts. Be careful not to end up as ashes!" Morgana sneered, shooting Tang Zheng a provocative glance, licking her crimson lips sensually. Her seductive demeanor made Yu Deye’s mouth dry and nearly lose his composure.
The woman was draped in a black magical robe with an extremely low V-neckline, revealing a deep cleavage.
Noticing Tang Zheng’s gaze momentarily sweep past her, Morgana puffed her chest with pride, only for her allure to fall completely flat when his attention betrayed no interest, leaving her with a sense of defeat.
"Are you her lover?" The Old Monster frowned. This young man was indeed remarkable, but across hundreds of years, he’d seen countless outstanding youths, all of whom eventually perished during the Holy Land War. To him, life was nothing more than a fleeting symbol.
The Old Monster cared only about passing on the mission!
"No!" Tao Ran, seeing Tang Zheng stand up for her, felt a mix of joy and apprehension. Hearing those words, her cheeks flushed red. She hurriedly denied the claim—aware that Qin Yan and Pang Meiqin both liked Tang Zheng, leaving her no room to compete.
"Old man, what are you prying for?" Pang Meiqin’s feisty temperament made it hard for her to revere the Old Monster. Especially when it came to matters concerning Tang Zheng, her possessive instinct emerged like a territorial mother leopard, baring its fangs.
Qin Yan sighed, pouring all her effort into defense.
"Lady, mind your words!" A knight pointed his finger, seemingly ready to discipline the Beautiful Leg Stewardess for any further offense.
The Old Monster waved dismissively, unconcerned.
"I suggest, let’s kill the Sky Serpent King first, then discuss everything else." Dantai spoke up, glaring at the Old Monster. "But I’ll preface this—if you harm any of our group members, even if it leads to team annihilation, we will demand a price from you."
"Tsk, such big talk." Willard scoffed, blowing a lighthearted whistle.
"Relax, for her, this is a monumental opportunity." Morgana’s eyes gleamed as she studied Dantai. "Handsome, interested in grabbing a meal together?"
"I don’t need opportunities." Tao Ran wanted to refuse. She had no desire to mingle with these foreigners.
"This is fate. You cannot escape nor resist!" Joan, as a Defense Type, formed an egg-shaped shield to repel the energy impact.
"Damn, the Warhammer Team must’ve struck some amazingly good luck—getting assistance from the Earl Qian Nian!"
Other teams watched the Warhammer members escape danger enviously, their eyes nearly popping out. They had been struggling futilely and suffered significant injuries.
Several less-resourced teams had their defenses shattered by the energy impact, leaving nothing behind—not even bone fragments.
The woman with the seed-shaped face whom Tang Zheng once encountered in the air defense cave was among the dead. In such circumstances, human lives truly were less than ants.
No wonder it was the Sky Serpent King’s ultimate ability—it lasted over three minutes before stopping. However, the attack clearly drained it heavily; its massive frame reduced to less than a thousand meters, though it still maintained its intimidating presence.
The destruction ceased, leaving only wisps of residual energy rippling through the air. The sky transformed into fractured patterns resembling brittle branches, as though space itself had been torn apart.
"Attack!" Yan Chiyang roared, seizing the interlude to hurtle forward like a cannon shell wrapped in flames toward the Sky Serpent King, detonating into a mushroom cloud.
The Dark Heavenly Realm descended once again. Spirit Embryos surged forth before exploding, releasing streams of Buddha statues. Upon emerging, their eyes fired beams of golden light.
The Sky Serpent King targeted Yan Chiyang with six pieces of magic treasure, unleashing a ferocious strike.
Yan Chiyang streaked away with a trail of flames, narrowly dodging but still grazed by a light beam. Fortunately, the scorched area transformed into flames, reducing the injury.
"What are you all waiting for?" Yan Chiyang barked at the reserve Seeds, while true Seeds had already joined the fray.
The battlefield was complete chaos. The Sky Serpent King aimed to annihilate the Seeds as a show of power to crush the ants’ morale. But it quickly realized these individuals were not only extraordinarily strong but cunning too, turning the tables with relentless attacks.
"We can’t let this continue." The Sky Serpent King shifted its tactics—using two treasures for defense while concentrating the firepower of four treasures on the reserve leaders.
This adjustment weakened its defense, leading to frequent injuries. Yet its aggressive offense ensured that any targeted reserve Seed either sustained severe injuries or was directly executed.
One of its weapons was a golden whip. With every strike, it extended a semi-transparent rope resembling a venomous snake, attacking the Conquerors and binding their actions—followed immediately by relentless assaults.
Within a single minute, over eight team leaders were lost.
"Quick, kill it!" The leaders roared, only to be forced into defensive mode as the energy neared its full charge, and the Sky Serpent King unleashed destruction once again. The ultimate ability resumed its rampage, and the heroes could only shift from offense to defense.
"Before the next ultimate ability, we must kill it." Di Jingfei shouted.
Bingxu and Vasily nodded. If this continued to drag on, even the reserve leaders would fall short of strength, resulting in even greater pressure on the Seeds.
The leaders understood that solo combat survival rates paled compared to collaborative efforts within teams. Thus, even the ruthless Nuclear Flame had to spare energy for defensive reinforcement. This worked to hasten their collective consumption.
Once the earth-shaking tremors ceased, the group launched yet another assault.
"Hold it off, buy us time to release ultimate abilities!"
The reserves rallied, pouring their energy relentlessly.
The Seeds erupted into fierce action, bombarding the Sky Serpent King with ultimate abilities. Skin peeled, blood sprayed, and scarlet liquid fell in clumps.
Elizabeth’s trump card ultimate ability tore through the void with devastating power. Her Holy Sword unleashed a golden blade that severed one of the Sky Serpent King’s arms.
"Damn it!" The Sky Serpent King glared at the Blade Empress, its eyes emitting annihilation beams aimed directly at her while another arm flailed to retrieve the severed limb.
Possessing immense regenerative ability, it could reconnect the damaged arm in less than three seconds—although at a steep energy cost.
Mu Nianqi, with her sharp combat instincts, deployed the Spiral of Destruction, obliterating the arm before the beast could reclaim it!
This strike alone secured nearly a thousand points for the Warhammer Team, thrusting them back into first place.
"Die!" the Sky Serpent King roared furiously, directing its remaining five treasures at Queen Mu in a frenzy of skill attacks.
"Now’s the chance!" The Nuclear Flame party struck aggressively, aiming for the Sky Serpent King’s arms.
Mu Nianqi didn’t resist directly, summoning her clones to evade the strikes. But she grossly underestimated the Sky Serpent King’s explosive power in its fury.
Zap, zap—within moments, her two clones were obliterated. Mu Queen spat blood, believing she had avoided death, only for the beast’s tail to sweep aside her allies and pounce toward her. Failure to execute a certain victory blow had enraged it, and now it vowed to kill her regardless of the cost.
"Damn it!" Dantai was alarmed. "Quick, long-range support!"
The special agents weren’t foolish enough to risk team members for a rescue; that would only increase the casualties.
It was undeniable how ruthless the Seeds’ hearts were—even Vasily, who usually favored Tang Zheng highly, didn’t concern himself with Mu Nianqi’s imminent death. Instead, they exploited her distraction to intensify attacks on the BOSS.
"Don’t spread out your attacks, focus only on its right two arms!" Vasily commanded, activating Scientific Victory and World Armament—he could even unleash Ultimate Power if not for mistrusting the Seeds.
Suffering so many blows while distracted chasing Queen Mu led to the destruction of the Sky Serpent King’s two arms. This only fueled its rage and reinforced its resolve to kill her.
"Damn it, this time it really is the end." With death looming, Mu Nianqi felt no fear. Entering the game a second time had dulled her emotional concerns into a survival mindset that barely clung to complacency.
"What are you doing, standing there? Move!" Tang Zheng sped like a lightning bolt, colliding into Mu Nianqi at breakneck speed as her willingness to face death infuriated him nearly to the point of vomiting blood.
Wham, Tang Zheng unleashed a merciless kick at Mu Nianqi’s shoulder.
Thrown off balance, Mu Nianqi stared dumbfounded at Tang Zheng, puzzled by his decision to save her. But in the split second she watched, he was engulfed by a barrage from the Sky Serpent King’s remaining arms.
"Decree, attack deflection!"
Tang Zheng unleashed his last resort, activating his Decree with full force to counter certain death.
"Tang Zheng!" The Warhammer Team monitored the battlefield closely, and Qin Yan immediately reacted by arming Hellfire to rush forward in his defense.
"Don’t be rash!" Dantai released a mental impact seeking to stun and disrupt their chaotic thoughts!
Above Tang Zheng’s head, the White Dwarf Star began spinning at top speed, triggering Gravity Abyss to its fullest extent. His body was layered in defensive shields, and even his Martial General appeared as a Meat Shield. Yet under the Sky Serpent King’s strike, everything shattered instantly.
"Damn, I screwed up this time." Tang Zheng had instinctively saved Mu Nianqi out of reflex, unaware she had already exhausted her defensive trump card clones and would surely die without intervention.
Tang Zheng didn’t want to lose a key assault contributor, assuming his defense could hold out—but he grossly underestimated the Seeds’ cunning antics. They leveraged his peril by attacking the Sky Serpent King, provoking its wrath until Tang Zheng bore the brunt.
"Decree, full defense!"
Tang Zheng roared, exhausting all his strength to counterattack the beast’s arm wielding the Vajra Circle.
"Just stall a bit longer!" Nuclear Flame and Di Jingfei couldn’t wait for Tang Zheng to die and hence attacked other arms.
Tang Zheng had no alternative but self-preservation. The light beam fired by the Vajra Circle deflected courtesy of the Decree—but as the arm swung, it hit him square on the head. (To be continued.
