Chapter 1697: Chapter 13 Full Spectrum Announcement_3
“Will there be a team battle?”
“No, with so many people here, they’ll just restrain each other—it won’t escalate into a fight.”
“That guy is walking so fast. Isn’t he worried about stepping into a trap?”
The people behind watched Tang Zheng move swiftly without hesitation, their faces full of surprise as they whispered among themselves.
“A bunch of idiots. Didn’t you notice those footprints on the ground? If there were traps, there’d be traces of previous people falling into an ambush nearby.”
An arrogant English Third-order man with a scruffy beard lectured the group, his face showing a superior attitude.
Everyone suddenly understood and, once again looking at Tang Zheng, felt a sense of admiration. As for the scruffy-bearded man, no one cared about him. The situation made it clear—he was hiding among the crowd, refusing to step forward, clearly a coward. Meanwhile, the person ahead was forging onward fearlessly—it was obvious who was superior.
“Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With the Trojan’s technology, erasing traces of battle isn’t a difficult task!” Tang Zheng turned around, raised a finger, and wagged it.
Everyone felt a chill in their hearts, immediately abandoning any thoughts of mischief, their focus turning fully alert.
“Hmph, do you think I’m stupid?” Tang Zheng said this to ensure they wouldn’t attempt to ambush him. Walking at the very front was effectively turning him into a living target. Surprisingly, those opportunistic Conquerors had yet to strike—something he still found odd.
“Trojan, what is the roulette spin opportunity?” Tang Zheng tapped his wristwatch but didn’t receive an answer, though he had already guessed and wasn’t disappointed.
“I wonder how the others are doing?” Tang Zheng was very worried, especially about Bai Guo and Lu Fan; he couldn’t bring himself to imagine the worst possible outcomes.
Five minutes later, a section of the passage’s wall suddenly opened, and heavily armed mechanical puppets, each two meters tall, emerged, launching an attack on the group.
Tang Zheng pulled the female newbie and immediately activated a gravity barrier, but he noticed that the puppets weren’t targeting him. The light beams brushed past him on both sides.
“What’s going on?” Tang Zheng was confused and turned back to see the unlucky guys behind him panicking, dodging frantically, activating shields, and counterattacking.
“Watch your fire targets!” Tang Zheng shouted, as their attacks nearly injured him by mistake.
The puppets charged forward, treating Tang Zheng as completely transparent, walking straight past him.
The female newbie screamed in fear at the sight of the mechanical combat bots, crouching down with her hands covering her head. Moments later, she realized the puppets were ignoring her entirely.
“Is this an illusion? Those two are completely untouched!” A man relaxed, thinking it might be an illusion, but was immediately shot in the calf and blown to minced meat.
The combat power of the puppets was equivalent to a First-stage Hero. While not extremely powerful individually, their sheer numbers effectively suppressed everyone in the tight space.
As the Conquerors recovered from their initial panic, complaints began to surface.
“Trojan, why is the game unfair?”
“Please watch your language. This is punishment for failing to complete the secret room progress. Tang Zheng achieved a perfect-clear status and is naturally exempt from attack!”
“Do you really have to announce my name?” Tang Zheng was annoyed; Trojan was deliberately stirring things up.
“He’s Tang Zheng? The guy who perfectly cleared a secret room?”
“He’s so young!”
Everyone was at a loss for words, glaring in shock as Tang Zheng casually walked through the puppets and left, their envy boiling over.
“Why didn’t I end up sharing a secret room with him?” Someone looked at the lucky female newbie, full of grievance.
“Hmph, if you’d been with him, you’d be dead already.”
Besides the scruffy-bearded man, a few sharp-eyed individuals noticed that Tang Zheng had only a handful of temporary companions left and deduced what might have taken place in the secret room.
This was Zone B, responsible for punishment. After crossing through, Tang Zheng arrived unscathed in Zone C, only to find corpses scattered on the ground.
“Hmm, this seems to be ability-related.” Examining several of the corpses, all of whom died during team battles, Tang Zheng immediately grew alert.
“Take this. Follow me closely and don’t wander off!” Tang Zheng handed the female newbie a Light Defense Shield, then gripped his Queen’s Roar and accelerated his pace—he wanted to get through this area as quickly as possible.
Upon entering the passage, Tang Zheng discovered its maze-like design. There were numerous route options, though arrows painted on the walls indicated directions.
Additionally, every ten meters along the walls of the passage, there were doors.
“Why design it as a maze and then mark it with arrows? Could they be fake?” Tang Zheng leaned against a door and reached out to turn the door handle.
“It’s pitch black—there’s nothing inside!” The female newbie, utterly inexperienced, naively stretched her neck to peek inside.
“Careful!” Tang Zheng yanked her back. If there was danger inside, she’d surely be killed instantly.
“What are these doors supposed to be for?” Tang Zheng realized that some doors couldn’t be opened—and with the sheer number of doors, it was unrealistic to test them all, so he decided to follow the arrows forward.
Tang Zheng turned into another passage and ran several meters before the door behind him suddenly swung open. A Conqueror emerged and fired at him.
Amid chaotic light beams, a semi-transparent summoned beast lunged at Tang Zheng.
Tang Zheng’s sixth sense was sharp. The moment the door moved, he activated a gravity field, quickly turned, firing shots single-handedly with his gun while his other hand pushed open a nearby door, ready to dodge inside.
The ambusher failed his strike and retreated through the door. Tang Zheng’s light beam scorched a black mark on the wall, though it quickly vanished, leaving the surface newly pristine.
“What happened?” The female newbie was so slow to react she didn’t realize an attack had occurred. Just as she opened her mouth to ask, her expression changed drastically, pointing ahead.
Before she could shout a warning, Tang Zheng already understood what was happening.
“This time, let’s see where you’ll run!” Tang Zheng pretended not to notice and didn’t turn around. But he had already launched a gravity gun spear.
At his side, the female gunner, in invisibility mode, guided the attack direction.
“Got him!” Thinking Tang Zheng’s unguarded back was vulnerable, the ambusher imagined victory—but in the very next moment, realized something was off.
“Invisible attack?” The ambusher activated his shield, blocking the gravity gun spear, but was hit by gravity reversal, his internal organs twisted into visceral torment.
Tang Zheng moved so fast it was like a rocket shot, electrically firing toward the ambusher.
The attacker tried to flee through the door but felt as though he’d fallen into a swamp—his movements slowed to a crawl. He released another summoned beast in desperation.
“The same person? Could these doors enable instantaneous movement?” Tang Zheng, bearing the White Dwarf Star, opened Radiation Gravity Abyss.
A warrior appeared, striking the summoned beast’s neck with his knife to intercept.
“Approximate combat power: English Second-order. Summoning System. Capture for interrogation!” Tang Zheng quickly judged. This guy obviously knew secrets about the area—questioning him might save time finding an exit. Of course, if his abilities proved overly dangerous, Tang Zheng wouldn’t hesitate to eliminate him.
