CHAPTER 1733: CHAPTER 49: FISHING IN TROUBLED WATERS

The sunlight cutting through a crevice cast onto the Ghost Ship, adding a touch of warmth to its eerie cold aura.

This was a large three-masted sailing ship with three decks, and towering stern and bow. In close combat, it allowed sailors to board enemy ships more swiftly, showcasing its Spanish style.

It seemed dead, the hull dilapidated, marred with cannon marks, and even some places webbed with spider silk and algae. But when the Conquerors approached, it awoke without warning.

Like the roar of a Wild Beast, long-dormant cannons bellowed once more, black cannonballs flying from the muzzles toward the Conquerors.

Boom, boom!

The Conquerors weren’t defeated by this small scene. They dodged deftly, surprised but undeterred, sprinting at full speed. This type of ship was certainly a target to be seized at all costs.

They were now quite frustrated; because of caution, they hadn’t brought enough hands, or they would have captured this ship already.

"A bunch of idiots, can’t they see this is a strategy?" Using an S-grade stealth equipment, Zhuo Lie and Zi Xin hid in a hollow under a cliff wall, trying not to get caught up.

"Stay calm; there’s only one chance. We must seize it." The young Zi Xin watched the battlefield carefully, sneaking a glance at the Ghost Ship—the big BOSS hasn’t appeared yet.

"I trust you with this." Zhuo Lie patted Zi Xin’s shoulder, satisfied.

It was all Zi Xin’s strategy. Relying on his prophecy Ability, Zhuo Lie ambushed a group of Pirates and even snatched a treasure map.

They were the first to find the Ghost Ship, but the captain was too Strong. After losing a Group Member, they had to change plans and spread the word.

Tang Zheng and his group were just Bait, sacrifices to lure out the captain of the Ghost Ship.

Cannon Shells whizzed randomly, striking the ground, bouncing, and rolling away, spraying sand and stone fragments in all directions.

A few sailors caught in the trajectory were directly crippled.

The bombardment didn’t stop; within ten seconds, three volleys were fired, rivaling the Firepower of the Female Gunners.

Every Conqueror’s gaze was eager; they knew what this meant—it’s impossible for even the most elite Gunner to reload this fast.

"This is a wondrous Demon Ship." The braided man shouted, and as soon as the words fell, the cannonballs lying on the beach suddenly unfolded, emitting black smoke.

Everyone held their breath, and then heard a cracking sound, like the friction of bones.

As the smoke dispersed, the sailors witnessed an unforgettable sight. Decayed arms reached out from the Soil, pressing down on the ground, crawling out, wielding Curved knives, charging at them.

Their number was overwhelming, like a swarm of ants pouring out from a boiling ant nest.

"It’s the Undead Skeletons!" the sailors exclaimed in panic, fleeing in a frenzy.

"Don’t run, come back." The Conquerors unleashed Full firepower with each attack, scattering a layer of bone fragments.

Once the Skeletons were mostly cleared, the Ghost Ship launched another three rounds of bombardment, summoning new Skeletons.

The Conquerors no longer battled among themselves. Apart from watching each other, they cleared the Skeletons in front of them while keeping their eyes on the Ghost Ship. At this point, no one would be foolish enough to rush in first.

Although the first to act would have the highest chance of capturing the ship, they would also bear the brunt of the attacks.

"What do we do? These guys aren’t taking the bait?" Zhuo Lie was anxious.

"Wait." Zi Xin was very patient.

The braided man, from a backward Tribe in South America, had astounding physical prowess, but his IQ was somewhat lacking. Moreover, having lost his subordinates, he was frustrated and impatient. After less than ten minutes, he started charging toward the Ghost Ship.

It must be said, he was a formidable enemy, his strength ready to enter S-grade at any moment. Holding a simple Spear, he swept through the Skeletons effortlessly, every swing kicking up a fierce Wind Power, blowing the Skeletons off balance.

All the muzzles aimed at the braided man, but he easily dodged under the barrage, leaping ten meters closer, springing up like a cannonball.

Whoosh, a figure appeared where the braided man was to land, wielding a sailor’s Curved knife, fiercely chopping at his head.

With a piercing clash of metal, the braided man was knocked down by a tremendous force, but his interceptor, the first mate, wasn’t better off, retreating several steps.

The braided man’s Combat instincts were outstanding; as he fell, he threw his Spear, and then sprang up again like a spring.

The first mate parried with his knife, sparks flying from the clash with the Spear. Barely dodging effectively, the braided man jumped onto the Deck, charging at him.

Bang, the first mate was kicked away, crashing into the ship’s railing.

The Conquerors couldn’t hold back, rushing toward the Ghost Ship in unison.

"Who dares disturb my slumber?" A coarse, angry voice rang out as they watched the braided man fall from the Ghost Ship, halting simultaneously.

A captain with Uniforms and a ship-shaped Hat appeared at the bow, glaring down at these uninvited guests.

"Strangers, leave at once, or I shall kill you." The captain was a Skeleton, with dark red Flames flickering in his eyes, his Twin Blades in hand, looking extremely eerie.

The braided man hesitated; he didn’t want to die fighting the captain, giving others a chance to fish in troubled waters.

"Damn, the captain indeed won’t leave the Ghost Ship." Zhuo Lie had seen this BOSS’s strength; unless he’s lured away, no one could sail the ship.

Tang Zheng quietly released the Hand of Gravity, grabbed a stone in front of the braided-haired man, shot it out, and smashed it toward the captain’s forehead.

Thud, the captain split the stone in two, glaring angrily at the braided-haired man.

"Worthy of being a Seed candidate, truly domineering." Miranda immediately mocked the braided-haired man, and everyone’s eyes turned to him.

The braided-haired man originally wanted to say it wasn’t him, but under so many stares, he simply couldn’t speak up, not wanting to appear weak.

"Scram!" The captain shouted angrily at the braided-haired man.

"Hey, you aren’t chickening out, right? Cursing you like this, you absolutely can’t stand it, cut him!" Tang Zheng teased the braided-haired man, and others followed suit.

"Tang Zheng, it’s irreconcilable between us." The braided-haired man was so angry he nearly spat blood, wishing he could slaughter Tang Zheng.

The captain didn’t have time for this nonsense, he swung the curved knife, and the cannon continued to roar, smashing a pile of skeleton sailors.

"What to do?" Miranda approached with her subordinates, "Shall we cooperate and seize this ship?"

Jack nodded, counting it as a greeting to Tang Zheng.

"Don’t act rashly, let’s first assess the situation." Tang Zheng’s gaze passed over the Ghost Ship, looking towards the narrow passageway. Since the ship can come in, there must be a way to get out.

The first mate jumped down, having just fought against the braided-haired man earlier, and aggressively attacked him.

This was a scene everyone was happy to see.

The braided-haired man, seeing no one to help him, gritted his teeth and began to battle fiercely with the first mate, deliberately guiding him to charge into other teams, trying to drag them in.

Some Conquerors have bizarre abilities that can attack the captain remotely, conducting inducements.

The captain mistook his target, venting his anger at an unlucky fellow who didn’t want to die and began retreating along the original path.

Others immediately seized the opportunity and pounced onto the Ghost Ship, but the captain then stopped and came back to kill again.

The battle was at a stalemate, and although the braided-haired man wasn’t smart, he wasn’t reckless. He decisively retreated, and delaying further would only be making a wedding dress for others.

Once the braided-haired man left, the first mate, freed up, randomly selected a target to attack, and this unlucky fellow also left.

"No way, if this keeps going, they’ll all leave." Zhuo Lie was anxious, the captain obviously valued his ship greatly, never having moved more than a hundred meters away.

Zi Xin’s eyes sparkled like the Northern Dipper Star as he predicted the outcome.

"The person who ultimately obtains the ship will be Tang Zheng."

The abilities of the Fate Series are the most unpredictable.

"Again that guy? That’s right, they have the most people, the most sea ships, they definitely have the advantage." Despite hating Tang Zheng, Zhuo Lie secretly admired his strength.

"No choice but to use abilities..." Zi Xin was decisive, extending two fingers to point at his brow, unleashing the Power of Destiny, interfering with cause and effect.

"Don’t take risks, let’s wait a bit longer."

Zhuo Lie was startled, reaching out to pull Zi Xin. His abilities were too powerful; each use came at a great cost, and even Trojan Technology couldn’t cure his permanent visceral damage, let alone his premature aging.

Zi Xin shook his head; he had to help Zhuo Lie get the Ghost Ship.

Watching the visible wrinkles increase at Zi Xin’s eye corners, Zhuo Lie gritted his teeth hard. It was just a whim to save him who was homeless, and he didn’t expect such repayment.

"I’ve already owed you several lives." Zhuo Lie lamented; if it weren’t for Zi Xin reviving him, if not for his interference abilities, he wouldn’t have survived this far, let alone seek revenge against Tang Zheng.

Zi Xin couldn’t arrange a person’s fate but could make them at a certain time and place, make a decision, and that decision would change their destiny.

The Ghost Ship captain initially wouldn’t leave the sea ship, but seeing these uninvited guests, for some reason, suddenly got very angry and just wanted to kill them all, so he put it into action.

The skeleton sailors saw the captain’s fury and also exploded, fiercely engaging in attack.

"Retreat, quick retreat!" The Conquerors shouted, almost all choosing to withdraw into the cave passage.

The vicinity around the Ghost Ship immediately quieted down, Zhuo Lie hugged Zi Xin and emerged from the previously empty rock wall, rushing toward the Ghost Ship.

"You didn’t have to do this!" Zhuo Lie looked at Zi Xin’s few strands of white hair and sighed, he’s only in his teens.

"Cough, cough, don’t say anymore, anyway, if we can’t bypass the Holy Land, it’s a dead end." Zi Xin was exhausted, coughed up a mouthful of blood, urging, "Hurry up, I’ve ’seen’ it, the core to control the Ghost Ship is in the Captain’s Cabin, absolutely get it."

Zhuo Lie said no more, like a cheetah, jumping onto the Ghost Ship, and several guarding skeleton sailors hadn’t reacted yet before being blown apart.

"Lure him out, then use cannon volleys to kill." Miranda shouted, "Without killing him, no one can seize the Ghost Ship."

The Conquerors sprinted madly, quite helpless; they wanted to go back, but the passage was too narrow and inevitably collided with the captain.

The running captain suddenly stopped, froze for a moment, then turned around and ran back, sensing the core had been touched. (To be continued.
